Luo Zheng laughed upon hearing the idea, as it was exactly what he had thought. "That's what I was thinking too," he said. "But demining is a technical job. Moreover, I suspect this thicket is filled with infrared detectors. If the Wolf King and his n have thermal imaging equipnt, combined with caras, we could be easily exposed."
"Yes, that's what concerns too," Lan Xue said softly, her stunning face tinged with helplessness.
Suddenly, Luo Zheng rembered the herd of zebras they had seen earlier and with a jolt of happiness said to the curious gaze of Lan Xue, "Brother Mountain Eagle, stop demining. I have an idea. Does everyone rember the herd of zebras we saw just now? Let's try to herd them to trample through the path."
"Eh? That's a good idea, feasible," Ghost Hand said excitedly.
Luo Zheng's on-the-fly idea was unanimously approved by everyone. The task of herding the zebras was handed over to Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard, who put down their backpacks, ard only with their weapons, and went chasing after the zebras. Luo Zheng thought for a mont, not feeling reassured, and said, "Xue Er, Mountain Eagle, you two provide covert cover around the area. I'm going to help."
"Okay, be careful," Lan Xue replied. Seeing Luo Zheng leave in a hurry after dropping his gear, she split up with Mountain Eagle, each finding a place to ambush.
It took the group more than ten minutes to catch up to the zebras, which had wandered far and were grazing on a hillside. Seeing the three people, they seed puzzled, but perhaps feeling no threat, they continued grazing. Luo Zheng observed for a while and then said, "Ghost Hand, Snow Leopard, the zebra herd is large and won't be easy to drive. Let's go around them first."
Agreeing, the two quickly flanked around one side, blocking the path of the zebra herd. Luo Zheng pulled his rifle's bolt and said, "Brothers, it's ti to work. Ghost Hand, left side; Snow Leopard, right side. Be careful."
"Understood." The two of them dashed off in opposite directions. Luo Zheng waited a mont, saw them in position, then decisively aid his gun at the ground in front of the zebra herd and fired a burst of bullets, their roars ringing out as if a primordial fierce beast had bared its fangs.
The sudden turn of events startled the zebra herd, causing chaos as they ran left, where gunfire t them, then right, t with more gunfire. In their panic, they turned and ran. Seeing this, the trio was overjoyed. To speed up the herd and create greater confusion, Luo Zheng pulled out a grenade and threw it.
This action would definitely draw the attention of the Wild Wolf rcenary Group, but to clear a path, it didn't matter. As long as they were fast enough, everyone would have ample ti to react. Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard also threw grenades, the enormous explosions terrifying the zebras into an even wilder sprint.
Seeing that the zebra herd wasn't running precisely along the intended route, he threw another grenade, causing the herd to change direction quickly. After repeating this several tis, the zebras were in complete disarray, charging in the predetermined direction, their thunderous stampede shaking the earth. Luo Zheng, watching the spectacle, was thrilled, continuing to herd them from behind with shouts of excitent.
Soon, the zebra herd charged into the minefield, trampling the grassland in a frenzied rush. "Boom!" A massive explosion sounded, and two zebras fell into a pool of blood, quickly trampled into a bloody mush by the oncoming herd. Completely disoriented, the zebra herd lost their senses and ran wildly in panic.
"Boom, boom, boom!" The consecutive sounds of explosions caused the zebra herd to panic even more, running for their lives. So scattered in all directions, quickly triggering land mines, which killed them instantly, sending waves of mournful cries drifting across the plains.
Luo Zheng remained unmoved, calmly watching the scene unfold until a large number of people rushed out of the buildings. He smiled and quickly took cover, whispering, "Stay hidden, don't show your heads." The zebras running amok could be due to many reasons; as long as they weren't discovered, the Wolf King's n would likely have their suspicions, but it wouldn't be a big problem.
The sound of explosions and the heartbreaking neighs of the zebras, along with the reverberation of hooves trampling the ground, made Luo Zheng aware that the danger zone had been breached. Next, it was ti to see what move the Wolf King's n would make. After waiting a while, Luo Zheng heard gunfire, looked up, and saw the Wolf King's n shooting to drive the zebras about to run onto the route.
The attack scattered the zebra herd, triggering even more land mines. A chain of explosions clouded the scene with smoke. Luo Zheng stayed calm, watching coldly until the last zebra was killed, then quickly shrank back into his hiding spot. After a while, Lan Xue's voice ca to his ears, "Those people are searching along the route now."
"Oh?" Luo Zheng peeked out slowly with surprise and indeed saw a dozen people searching ahead. His expression turned solemn as he said, "Spread out in a triangular formation, and wait for them to co closer before striking. Take them out."
"Right, take them out first," Snow Leopard agreed, and the others concurred.
Everyone quickly dispersed, finding places to hide and forming a triangle. Luo Zheng hid in a low depression, camouflaged by his Jili suit, looking just like a bush at first glance. His disguised sniper rifle pointed forward, ready and waiting, his eyes fixed intently in the direction of the enemy.
After several minutes, a few people crawled out of the bushes and spread out, cautiously continuing their search. Not long after, several more followed, appearing alert and on edge. Luo Zheng watched these people coldly, gauging the distance while adjusting his breathing, locking onto a target.
"Xue Er, you cover the rear; I'll take the lead, Ghost Hand, you're responsible for the left side of the enemy, Brother Mountain Eagle, you take the right, and Snow Leopard, you handle the enemies in the middle," Luo Zheng swiftly orchestrated based on the positions of the ambush and the scattering formation of the enemy. This way, they would avoid the problem of two people attacking the sa target and wasting ammunition.
"Fire!" Once the enemies had completely entered the triangular formation, Luo Zheng didn't hesitate to give the order. He pulled the trigger, and the sniper bullet scread through the air, creating a piercing sonic boom. Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng keenly sensed his target making an evasive maneuver the instant he fired, to his surprise, a formidable opponent.
Upon inspection, the bullet hit the target's shoulder. Although the man's reaction was quick, it was still a step too late. Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief; a man shot in the shoulder posed little threat. He swiftly redirected the barrel to another target, only to see that this person was already lying on the ground, aiming in his direction.
"Damn, an expert," Luo Zheng was startled. He hadn't expected the foe to react so swiftly and lock onto his position. He quickly ducked back as a bullet whizzed over his head, its scorching shockwave unbearable. A cold sweat broke out on his back, and he silently celebrated his luck as anger began to flare up.
