The battlefield was ever-changing, with life and death hanging by a thread. Luo Zheng dodged a close call, and his rage imdiately erupted. He leapt out of the crater, rolled a few tis, and quickly stood up to take a kneeling shooting position. Spotting the enemy aiming at him too, Luo Zheng remained unflinching, his eyes filled with a murderous intent. It was now a contest of who could act faster, who feared death less. re evasion would only lead to more passivity and a swifter death.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng fired. The bullet scread through the air, roaring towards its target with all of Luo Zheng's boundless fury and intent to kill. Without pausing to observe the result, he quickly dived to one side right after the shot, rolled, and took aim again. In the sniper scope, the target from monts before had its head blown off; Luo Zheng had fired first and won.
At this sight, Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief and his confidence soared. Suddenly, he felt a twitch in the corner of his eye and cursed under his breath. He rolled away swiftly as a hail of bullets whizzed near his ears. Luo Zheng knew he'd drawn soone's attention, his anger flaring. When adversaries et on a narrow path, the brave one prevails. In a place with no cover to speak of, one could only fight with all they've got.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng shot again. The sniper bullet created a terrifying energy blast, buzzing with a sonic boom as it ripped through the air, clawing at its target. After firing, Luo Zheng swiftly got up and ran, adopting the Bullet Avoidance Steps while scanning for targets over his shoulder, shooting off another round.
"Get down." Lan Xue yelled anxiously.
Luo Zheng swiftly lunged forward, hearing a stream of bullets whiz overhead. His face turned pale, grateful for Lan Xue's tily warning, or else he would have been in trouble. Quickly determining the enemy's location, he rolled, turned the gun barrel, and fired rapidly.
"Whoosh." The sniper bullet emitted a devastating sonic crack as it howled with all of Luo Zheng's murderous intent, burying itself into the forehead of an enemy who had peered out. The shot was partly luck, but the brutal sniper round rcilessly shattered the target's central nervous system, blasting it apart and sending a spray of red and white.
"Kill!" Lan Xue commanded coldly, her rciless killing intent tinged with a hint of worry and reprimand.
Feeling warm inside from hearing these words, Luo Zheng appreciated the feeling of being cared for. Rolling to his knees, he quickly scoped out another target—a man crawling sideways. Calmly aiming at the enemy's waist, Luo Zheng fired swiftly, not lingering to see the result before changing his position.
Dashing forward a few steps, he spotted a low depression in the ground ahead. With a leap, he dove into it and quickly took cover, raising his sniper rifle and scouring for targets. He saw that the man he'd shot crawling forward earlier was now lying in a pool of blood, helplessly looking at his comrades, yearning for their help.
Under the sharp assault from the team, these people all took cover, not daring to move recklessly. How could they afford to think about rescuing others? However, such concealnt was sowhat wishful thinking. In a triangular formation, no hiding place was safe; one side was always visible from one of the three angles.
"Bang bang bang!" The Type 95 assault rifle continued to assert its dominance, its intense fire once again pinning down the few remaining people. Snow Leopard and Ghost Hand had realized sothing was amiss and switched from precision shooting to suppressing fire. Observing this, Luo Zheng knew his previous command had been lacking, but thankfully the team, seasoned as they were, promptly compensated for it.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng fired again, hitting the thigh of a well-hidden target. The man scread in agony, sat up clutching his thigh, but Luo Zheng, unfazed, locked onto the man's head and squeezed the trigger without hesitation—headshot. Like exploding waterlon, the eerie spray of red and white burst forth.
There was no rcy on the battlefield. When a gunshot sounded, it was either you or . Seeing that the prone position didn't offer a good enough view, Luo Zheng got up and kneeled to aim, his sight slightly elevated. He spotted a target about to shoot in the direction of Lan Xue. Almost at the sa ti, Luo Zheng felt a twitch between his brows and was horrified to realize he was being targeted. Still, concerned for Lan Xue's safety, he gritted his teeth, kept his body still, and swiftly pulled the trigger.
"Whoosh!" The bullet, carrying Luo Zheng's anxiety and worry, flew swiftly. Almost simultaneously, a sniper bullet whistled past his ear, the sharp noise causing a ringing in his ears. Startled, he quickly hit the ground, rubbing his ears furiously and swallowing hard, feeling imnsely relieved. It was a good thing he hadn't moved—if he had tried to dodge, he might have moved right into the path of the bullet.
That last shot—Luo Zheng was sure the enemy hadn't missed but had aid deliberately near his ear, anticipating that he would dive to that side to avoid it. If it weren't for his concern for Lan Xue's safety, he might have executed the "Bullet Avoidance Steps." This would have played right into the enemy's hands. That was close.
Realizing he was facing a formidable opponent, Luo Zheng's face grew stern. He got up with a roll and sprinted forward before throwing himself to the ground again, rolling to cover and keeping low in a bush. Since the enemy had focused on him, he might as well draw their attention as much as possible while preserving his safety, gaining ti for his team's attack.
Once he was hidden, Luo Zheng urgently spoke through the headset, "There's a sharpshooter on their side, be careful."
"Three left. Everyone be careful, change position, and react accordingly," Lan Xue whispered. Lan Xue had a relatively better position, hidden behind a mound of earth with a clear view. Seeing Luo Zheng hunker down in the bushes, Lan Xue promptly took command.
The team quickly changed their hiding spots, searching for the remaining three. The enemies ford a small triangle using their fallen comrades as cover. Having insufficient angles to shoot from, the team had to keep moving. Luo Zheng waited for a while, and seeing no shots coming his way, carefully crawled out to see several bodies lying ahead but no suspicious targets. His eyes narrowed as he knelt down and started to search.
Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw a grenade fly forward. Three shadows quickly got up and scattered; one running straight towards him. Luo Zheng aid at the man's chest with concentration, calmness, and decisiveness, pulling the trigger. The casing ejected crisply onto the grass, and the sniper bullet struck the target heartlessly in the chest, spurting a geyser of blood as the body fell heavily to the ground, motionless.
"Attack!" A fierce voice roared, bursting from cover, with a barrage of bullets raining down on a suspicious target. It was Snow Leopard. Ghost Hand also charged in, and Luo Zheng, startled and worried for their safety, rushed forward as well. Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw one of the "corpses" on the ground suddenly move—it was the grenade.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng was shocked and fired hastily, the bullet hitting the man's body. A streak of blood spurted from the "corpse," the hand loosened, and the grenade slipped out. Luo Zheng shouted, "Quick, fall back, get down!"
