The wooden door's bolt, Luo Zheng used a sharp military saber to easily manipulate it a few tis and deftly unlocked the door. With a gentle push, the door opened; the snoring inside was completely audible. Luo Zheng glanced at Ghost Hand, and Ghost Hand nodded to signal they were ready. Luo Zheng darted in with a swift movent, and Ghost Hand, not to be outdone, dashed inside like a Soul Hooker of the night.

There were two bunk beds in the room, with people lying on them, deep in sleep. Luo Zheng rushed forward in a few strides, covered one of the sleeper's mouths, and the sharp saber was angled into the other's temple. The blade instantly penetrated the brain, twisted forcefully, and shattered the brain's central nervous system; the person died without any sort of reaction.

Slitting a throat can certainly kill, but it takes a few seconds for the person to die completely, and a powerfully vital person might make a noise if they fight back when close to death. However, stabbing the temple with a saber, and striking directly at the nerve center of the brain is different. Once the central nervous system is damaged, consciousness fades, and the body does not receive any commands from the brain, leading to no reactions.

After killing one person, Luo Zheng saw that Ghost Hand had used the sa thod to kill another. He then stood at the edge of the lower bunk, his saber hesitated not a mont before forcefully slicing towards the throat of the person on the upper bunk. The sharp saber cut the throat open; the man beside reacted instinctively, his hands unconsciously covering the wound as he woke up—eyes filled with horror looking into the night sky. Blood spurted violently, and although he tried to scream an alarm it was too late; no sound ca out, and instead, more blood gushed forth.

This man died with confusion and reluctance as his consciousness began to fade away, and soon, there was no more movent. After killing the targets, Luo Zheng looked at Ghost Hand who had also achieved his goal. Luo Zheng signaled at the door, and Lan Xue and the others quickly rushed in, closed the door, and began checking the room.

The room was not large; other than the beds, there were only so basic living essentials. Luo Zheng looked at the clothes of the n; they were standard desert camouflage, which made it impossible to discern their identities. He then looked at the neck of one of them and found a lifelike wolf head tattoo, exuding ferocity under the moonlight—clearly one of Wolf King's elites.

Having clashed with Wolf King before, Luo Zheng was clear about one thing: those with a wolf head tattoo were always Wolf King's elite confidants, each a formidable opponent. As for the ard militants they encountered on the prairie without the wolf head, they were rely Wolf King's common forces. Killing four at once was an unexpected gain, but when he thought about the nearly three hundred such n under Wolf King, Luo Zheng felt overwheld.

"They're Wolf King's n. No idea how many more there are. What'll we do next?" Lan Xue whispered.

Luo Zheng had no better plan, but seeing the expectant looks from the others, he couldn't bear to disappoint them and after mulling over it for a mont, he said, "They're all mudbrick rooms. Fire attack won't work; water attack is even less likely. The enemy situation is unclear. Going room by room might not work either, with dawn approaching. We can't kill that many. Maybe we can find sowhere higher to hide and play it by ear. After dawn, see if there's a chance."

"I don't agree with this plan. After dawn, even if we successfully ambush Wolf King, we'll expose ourselves. Don't know how many of Wolf King's elites are here; we could be walking into a trap. We can't risk everyone's life for a competition. Think again, is there any other way?" Lan Xue imdiately opposed, as the team leader, she had to consider the safety of her team mbers. On this matter, Lan Xue would not let Luo Zheng, the invisible team leader, decide.

Luo Zheng nodded with understanding and said, "Then we can only kill from house to house, as many as we can until dawn. Ghost Hand and I will team up, Snow Bear and Mountain Eagle, you two are a team, and Xue Er, you will be responsible for giving us cover." The grueso nature of close-quarters killing was sothing Luo Zheng did not want Lan Xue to be too exposed to, besides, they indeed needed soone to keep guard.

Lan Xue nodded in agreent, not objecting to the plan, and reminded everyone to be careful. She took the lead in leaving the room. After confirming there was no danger outside, she blew into her headset. The team filed out in pairs, moving towards the main street ahead, where small rooms lined both sides. Each pair was responsible for one side, while Lan Xue hid in the darkness behind them, staying vigilant.

In the darkness, everyone moved stealthily like ghosts. Unnoticed, Luo Zheng and Ghost Hand arrived at the next room, with a wooden plug door just like before. A few flicks with a military knife opened the latch, and with a gentle push, the room was silent. Luo Zheng looked at Ghost Hand who prepared for battle, and after peering into the room, Luo Zheng was pleased to find it the sa as the last one.

In the darkest hour before dawn, when people are in their deepest sleep, Luo Zheng shot into the room like a ghost, grabbing the covers to muffle the person's mouth, and with his silenced pistol aid at their forehead, fired a shot. Then, he quickly stood up and aid just above target's temple on the upper bunk, firing another shot.

At such close range, nobody could escape death. Using a knife was too slow and risked exposure. Now that Luo Zheng also had a silenced pistol, Ghost Hand finished off two targets as well. Seeing Luo Zheng using the silenced gun, he put away his military knife with frustration, resolving to use a gun next ti for a quicker, cleaner job.

After clearing the targets in the room, Luo Zheng and Ghost Hand quickly moved out the door, approaching the next room ready to jimmy open the door, but unexpectedly, it swung open from the inside. Startled, Luo Zheng quickly hid beside the door. Soon, a guy yawning trendously stepped out, ready to relieve himself.

It was just soone getting up to pee, not an alert, a false alarm. Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, raised his hand, and fired a shot. The bullet entered the man's head directly. Ghost Hand hurried over to support the body from falling, glanced at Luo Zheng, then Luo Zheng dashed into the room, with Ghost Hand slowly lowering the body before rushing in after him.

Inside the room, Luo Zheng had already taken down a target and was on another, while Ghost Hand, not wanting to be outdone, dashed forward with a burst of speed to kill the last target. They then dragged the body from outside into the room, tossed it on the bed, and covered it with a blanket, making it look undisturbed.

Following the sa thod, they continued to advance. As the sky started to brighten and people began to wake up, continuing the action risked exposure. Luo Zheng planned to make one last round and then call it quits. Arriving at a house, he heard noises inside, took a sharp breath, and blew twice into the headset—once for safety, twice for danger, as they had agreed upon. The team, receiving the signal, erged from the rooms, looking towards Luo Zheng.

Luo Zheng pointed to the roof, and everyone nodded with understanding. Snow Leopard leaned against the wall, crossed his hands in front of his belly, and Mountain Eagle stepped onto the crossed hands to jump up, soaring effortlessly onto the rooftop. The others followed suit, eventually pulling Snow Leopard to the roof as well.
