"Yes, we et again, and every encounter with you never bodes well. Last ti, despite the icy conditions, you managed to escape a disaster—quite impressive indeed. This ti, I had planned to drag you down even if it ant my own death, but unexpectedly, my own man took a bullet for you, while your man shot . To die at the hands of soone like you, I can rest in peace. Go ahead," Wolf King said coldly, his eyes nearly closed, without a trace of panic before death. As a rcenary, Wolf King had long braced himself for death, rely uncertain of when or how it would co. To die under an opponent's gun was also a sort of honor.

"You are indeed tough, not hiding or flinching, disregarding your safety and just standing there trying to ambush , how scheming. But, I was lucky, you just missed by that much. Although you avoided the attack, you failed to hide your vulnerability. I'm curious, why here, in broad daylight, did you attempt to kill , and why did you not flee after failing?" Luo Zheng said, laughing furiously, the taste of imminent revenge bringing him a surge of pleasure.

"Flee? Most of my n are dead, where could I possibly go? To die here, under the sacred emblem of my rcenary Group, the wolf's head, was my greatest hope. I did not expect that a suicidal attack would still let you escape by a fraction, and that it was my own man who took the bullet. Perhaps that's fate. Co on, shoot, enough with the talk," Wolf King stated bitterly, his face expressing a resigned sadness.

"Out of respect for your impending death, answer one question, and I promise you won't die in agony," Luo Zheng said coldly, his gaze fixed intently on Wolf King. Lan Xue, sensing what Luo Zheng was about to ask, quickly activated the cara on her helt to record everything.

"Fine, but I don't promise to answer," Wolf King replied indifferently with a cold laugh.

Luo Zheng noticed several bullet holes on Wolf King, continuously bleeding, posing an imminent threat to his life. Without hesitation, he urgently asked, "A few months ago, when we went to besiege your base in the Asian Region, how did you know our marching route, and manage to ambush us halfway, shooting down our helicopter?"

The Song family's influence is boundless, even capable of influencing United Nations decisions to so extent, as in the setting of this competition's target. With such an enemy, without strength or proof, the hope of retaliation was incredibly slim. Concerned whether he could obtain evidence, Luo Zheng stared intensely at Wolf King, his eyes full of expectation and worry,

"Hahaha!"

Wolf King suddenly burst into laughter, his blood pressure surging, causing a stream of black blood to gush out. He stopped laughing and stared fiercely at Luo Zheng, his eyes burning with rage, like a volcano about to erupt, steadfastly glaring at Luo Zheng, his face as cold as ice that hadn't lted for millions of years, remaining silent.

Luo Zheng, not showing any weakness, slowly stood upright, his gaze icy as he looked at Wolf King, his fighting spirit soaring. At that mont, Luo Zheng thought of his comrades who had died horribly at the border, thought of the Song family, thought of the exploded helicopter, thought of casualties, Lan Xue's second cousin, thought of his own multiple brushes with death, his heart overflowing with towering rage. He stepped forward, like a war god, his eyes filled with a sharp fierceness, and said coldly, "You have no right to laugh."

"Eh?" Wolf King faltered, almost unable to catch his breath, surprised by the intensity of Luo Zheng's murderous aura. Feeling his life force draining, potentially dying at any mont, his face darkened, and he cald down, saying with a bitter smile, "Yes, I have no right to laugh. To think my organization, ranked tenth in the rcenary World, once so glorious, would ultimately be defeated by you, I indeed have no right to laugh."

"Answer my question?" Luo Zheng said coldly, taking another step forward, his face an iron blue, his aura intimidating.

"Would it matter if I said anything? Without proof, what can you do?" Wolf King sneered sarcastically. "You, boy, have offended the powerful, and you won't end up any better. With our enmity, why should I tell you? You are warriors who value honor; we are rcenaries who value profit. Without profit, why should I tell you? Besides, for a dying man like , even profit ans nothing now. Why should I tell you? Hahaha, I'll be waiting for you below, till we fight again."

Luo Zheng was stunned, feeling a blockage in his chest. Indeed, even if Wolf King admitted it was the Song family's doing, without evidence, what could he do? The Song family could simply claim Wolf King was framing them, and he would be the one at a loss. It seed he could no longer count on Wolf King for revenge. Luo Zheng's face turned iron blue as he looked at Wolf King and, with a bitter laugh, said, "Then let's be on our way."

"Good, thanks for granting this." Wolf King looked up painfully at the newly risen sun, his expression forlorn, emanating a hopeless sadness, his eyes revealing reluctance and nostalgia. He said softly, "To think I spent my life fighting for money, killed countless people, only to end up like this—it's my retribution, indeed."

"If you knew this would happen, why did you ever start?" Lan Xue said coldly, her eyes also full of anger and a hint of satisfaction from avenging a great wrong.

"If I had to choose all over again, I would still choose the sa path. You fight for your country, for honor, holding onto your ideals and beliefs. I'm not that noble; I just wanted to make my family's life better. For that, I had to fight, to earn money. We all seek different things. To exchange my death for a better life for my family, I have no regrets. Co on, make it a clean shot." Wolf King said coldly, staring at Luo Zheng, then slowly closed his eyes.

"Bang!" Luo Zheng pulled the trigger without hesitation, the bullet screaming excitedly with the thrill of his revenge, instantly penetrating Wolf King's forehead, the powerful kinetic energy shattering the central nerve, bursting out from the back of his head, lifting a spray of blood.

Wolf King's body shuddered, leaning against the wolf-head sculpture, eyes closed, a smile of liberation unexpectedly appearing on his face.

This expression puzzled Luo Zheng greatly, but he quickly dismissed it from his mind. Regardless, Wolf King was dead, the threat eliminated—a cause for great celebration. Luo Zheng looked at Lan Xue, relieved. Lan Xue nodded and picked up the satellite phone, knowing that killing Wolf King and winning the big competition were matters that needed urgent reporting.

Just then, Luo Zheng noticed Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard collapsing, sitting down on the ground. He hurried over and saw that both had been shot, though not fatally. He quickly called for Mountain Eagle to help and took out a first aid kit. In their recent desperate assault, the two had exchanged fire with about a dozen enemies on the roof and co off worse.

"No good, no signal!" Lan Xue suddenly cried out in panic, startling everyone. Satellite phones didn't just lose signal—they were globally positioned and could be used anywhere except perhaps in places with magnetic field disturbances, but that shouldn't be an issue here. Everyone's faces hardened as they realized sothing was wrong.
