"You do the dressing." Luo Zheng's face darkened as he grabbed his gun and, ignoring the pain in his chest, quickly ran towards the gate. His eyes were cold and filled with unease. Upon reaching the entrance, he suddenly noticed a large group of people outside the castle, cautiously moving up with their guns, covering each other in formation. They were only about three hundred ters from the gate, which alard him. Upon closer inspection, they didn't seem like Wolf King's n.
Luo Zheng raised his sniper rifle and saw through the sniper scope that among the newcors were people he knew from the Sam Country. His expression darkened, his brows furrowing deeply, as he realized it was these people who had jamd the signals around them, rendering the satellite phone useless. The arrivals were not good news. Luo Zheng swiftly fired a warning shot into the sky and shouted in the universal language, "Stop advancing, or I'll shoot to kill. I'm from the Huaxia Country team, state your purpose."
In the sniper scope, the advancing group dropped to the ground, their gun barrels all pointing in his direction, gleaming with a deathly chill in the sunlight—shocking. One of them yelled disdainfully, "Fuck, pretending to be racers? Doesn't suit your reputation, Wolf King. Everyone on the plains has been killed in battle; only you remain. Co out now, and surrender, and I assure you will receive a fair trial. Until then, I guarantee your safety."
Upon hearing this, Luo Zheng instantly understood that these guys wanted to be the opportunistic bird behind the mantis, catching both prey and predator. Furious, he shouted, "Co at then, let's see how strong the Sam Country team really is." Since a battle was inevitable, he angrily shut the door, quickly climbed to the top of the castle wall, took up a good ambush position, set up his sniper rifle, and saw the people starting to retreat, which angered him further. He quickly took aim at a target.
The best way to deal with an overconfident adversary was to hit them hard and scare them; otherwise, they would beco emboldened. Luo Zheng would never allow such a thing to happen. There could only be one winner in this competition. The fruits of victory that his brothers had paid for with their lives would not be taken by others, especially not by enemies.
"What's going on?" Lan Xue asked in surprise over the headset.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng did not answer imdiately but resolutely fired his gun. The sniper bullet, carrying Luo Zheng's infinite rage, roared forth, tearing through the searing barrier of air, like a fierce ancient beast roaring, biting into the target's thigh in an instant, ripping away a large chunk of flesh. The target scread and fell to the ground.
A thigh shot rendered this person's combat effectiveness null. Without tily treatnt to remove the bullet, there was a risk to their life. Moreover, wounded soldiers required care, which would decrease the enemy's combat effectiveness. This shot from Luo Zheng not only aid to weaken the enemy's strength but also to serve as a warning. If the enemy remained provocative, it would result in an all-out confrontation. With the signals jamd, the purpose was clear, and those who were shot could only bla their misfortune and would not report to the committee.
"What happened?" Lan Xue asked again urgently over the headset.
"Sam Country's team brought a bunch of people over. If I'm not mistaken, they're here to steal our victory. Damn it, how are Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard?" Luo Zheng asked in a low, angry voice, anxious for his injured comrades. The previous battle had been too dangerous, and his hand holding the gun was sweaty, his eyes behind the sniper scope cold and murderous, filled with hatred for these thieves of victory.
"Bastards," Lan Xue also cursed angrily, instructing Mountain Eagle to take care of Ghost Hand and Snow Bear while she picked up her gun and rushed over. Seeing Luo Zheng on the castle wall, and noticing the stone stairs next to the castle gate, she quickly ran up them. Like a cheetah, she pounced next to Luo Zheng, her gaze as cold and deadly as her voice when she whispered in a hoarse tone, "How many of these bastards are there? What's the plan now?"
"There are thirteen that I can see, not sure if there are more hidden. It seems to be a joint team ford by several participating teams. How are Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard?" Luo Zheng answered with concern.
"The problem isn't too big, just a graze from a bullet, and I've stopped the bleeding. I can still fight," Lan Xue said with a grave expression as she looked at the people retreating ahead of us. "It seems these people are hell-bent on finishing us to seize the fruits of victory. With the signal jamd, we can't broadcast what's happening here. The mont we die, the evidence we recorded earlier will be destroyed. Then, they can say whatever they want about the situation here."
"That's my concern too. If we're lucky, they'll say we died fighting the Wolf King. If not, only heaven knows what they'll concoct," Luo Zheng said bitterly, his face seething with a desire to kill.
"What are our chances?" Lan Xue asked in a low voice, her cold gaze revealing a hint of worry. Ghost Hand and Snow Bear are injured, significantly weakening our combat effectiveness. The enemy has at least thirteen known individuals—it's unknown how many more there could be out there. We're trapped in the castle, and there doesn't seem to be any hope in winning this battle."
Luo Zheng didn't reply imdiately, instead staring coldly at the people withdrawing in the distance. His face was solemn as he contemplated. After a while, his worried expression beca resolute, and a hint of joy appeared. He said softly, "Don't worry, there will always be a way. Let's hold out against them for a few days. We have plenty of clean water, and there should be food and bedding inside the castle. We can bring them up on the walls. We'll set up several deceptive formations to confuse the enemy. The five of us, each guarding a corner of the wall, with one person mobile to provide support as needed. Holding out for three to five days shouldn't be a problem."
"The temperature here alternates between cold and hot, with a huge difference. Defending the castle with sufficient supplies, we should be able to last three to five days. But don't forget, our opponents are not in a bad situation either; they should be able to hold out. What after three to five days?" Lan Xue whispered with concern, her eyebrows tightly furrowed, etched with worry.
"You've overlooked one thing," Luo Zheng said with a confident smile, his gaze firm and strong.
"What?" Lan Xue asked in surprise, her face full of curiosity.
"Water," Luo Zheng said with a light laugh.
"Water?" Lan Xue was montarily stunned, looking puzzled at the lake ahead. Then, realization dawned, and she smiled, saying, "That's great! The water is contaminated by us, which doesn't affect the Wolf King, but it's different for them. The longer the ti, the more severe the contamination. It's so hot here, they can't possibly go without water. As long as we hold the castle, their defeat is certain. You were far-sighted to have contaminated the water beforehand."
"It was a coincidence. Who could have imagined they would catch up?" Luo Zheng laughed lightly, his concerns washed away. He glanced ahead; the teams from Sam Country had already run behind the sand dunes and disappeared from sight.
With the crisis escalating, Luo Zheng had to brace himself and stay alert. He put on his tactical sunglasses, squatting in a ready position, his cold gun barrel emitting a deadly aura under the sunlight, shining with a chilling sharpness.
