After landing, Luo Zheng saw a car coming too fast to stop, barreling directly towards him. Startled, he quickly leaped to dodge yet again and sprinted toward the side of the road. He saw that the silver sports car had already dashed far away without a trace. He quickly dialed Lan Xue's number and as soon as she answered he hurriedly said, "The sports car wasn't stopped; only the window was shattered. The driver is a desperado and is now heading your way, be careful."
"Are you okay?" Lan Xue asked with concern.
"I'm fine. I'm going after that bastard," Luo Zheng answered casually.
"Alright, be careful. I've already contacted the Ministry of Public Security. They will set up checks and pursue. I suspect that after the culprit knows they've been exposed, they will try to hide, but we can't let our guard down. I'm on my way to et up with you," Lan Xue said.
Ending the call, Luo Zheng saw a taxi coming and imdiately hailed it, pretending to be a police officer on a case and asking the driver to speed up to chase. The cab driver didn't suspect anything, readily agreed, and asked which car they were chasing. When he learned it was the silver sports car with the shattered window, he beca enthused and quickly radioed headquarters to explain the situation.
Upon hearing the report, headquarters notified all its taxis. Soon after, they received sightings of the silver sports car. Luo Zheng watched this unfold with amazent, and he couldn't help but smile. "The power of the people is indeed formidable," he said gratefully. "Thank you for your help, Driver."
"No need to thank . I just happened to see you dodge the car with that jump from across the street. That was so skill! It's everyone's duty and responsibility to maintain social order. Besides, I was a soldier once. Buckle up; I'm going to speed up now. Just speak to the traffic police for later, ask them not to deduct my points or fine ," said the taxi driver with a laugh.
"Sure, I will. If there's really a fine, I'll take care of it," Luo Zheng promised, fastening his seatbelt. He felt the taxi accelerate, weaving through traffic like a fish in water at a rapid pace, and couldn't help but say, "Driver, impressive driving."
"I was a transport soldier and drove for decades. After I started driving a taxi, to compete for fares, I got used to making quick moves and saving ti," the taxi driver replied cheerfully.
The radio kept broadcasting updates about the silver sports car. The taxi driver indeed had great driving skills, speeding up and closing the distance to the sports car. Luo Zheng could faintly see the Shadow of the vehicle and gleefully prepared for battle, checking his gun and ammo.
The taxi driver glanced at the real gun, and his blood started to boil as he reminisced about his ti in the military. He stared intensely at the silver sports car ahead, his eyes narrowed, his face tensed, and suddenly said, "Brother, that's the entrance to the expressway ahead. Once on the expressway, my taxi won't be able to keep up with his sports car. That guy is an expert driver. What should we do?"
"It's okay; just do your best. It's even better if he goes onto the expressway. The toll booth will surely set up a roadblock; he won't get away," Luo Zheng said calmly. He noticed the sports car didn't head for the expressway but continued to surge forward with its engine roaring loudly. Had it not been for the taxi driver's rich experience and excellent driving, they wouldn't have been able to keep up at all.
"Should we inform our brothers to block him?" the taxi driver asked.
"What do you an?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise.
"I an to ask the other taxi drivers to hit him, block his path, but if the cars are damaged, the police have to compensate, and it can't be counted as a violation. Nowadays, everyone wants to do good deeds, but fears the consequences," the taxi driver explained sowhat helplessly.
Luo Zheng thought for a mont and said, "No need, but thanks for the offer. The other guy is extrely brutal and might kill. There's no need to risk the brothers' safety. Just stick to his tail; that's enough. I'll handle it." Saying this, he rolled down the window, stuck his head out, and saw the driver of the sports car holding a handgun outside their car.
"Damn," the taxi driver cursed as he saw it, swiftly steering to the right and aligning the taxi to be in the sa lane as the sports car, preventing the assailant from shooting at them. Luzhong steadied himself and again stuck his head out, rapidly firing at the rear window of the sports car.
With a loud "Bang!" the bullet whistled away, shattering the sports car's rear window into bits that scattered on the road. The sports car accelerated even faster, its driver swerving past several vehicles. The taxi driver, not wanting to be outdone, pursued closely, also increasing his speed, and soon was on the sports car's tail again.
Seeing the taxi driver's skill, Luo Zheng laughed and said, "Brother, you've got so serious skills. Can you ram him? Any damage will be on . Ask the brothers to block the road, but they must leave their cars imdiately, just in case."
"You an it? Watch this," the taxi driver said with a spirited laugh. He floored the gas pedal, pushing the car to its limit. While accelerating, he spoke into the radio, "Headquarters, headquarters, please ask the brothers near to help clear the road and set up a blockade."
"Understood, just take care of yourself," a voice responded.
Luo Zheng watched the taxi driver in amazent as many taxis sped over, trailing behind them and blocking all vehicles in the rear. Soon, there were several taxis parked across the road ahead. The silver sports car roared past, but as it approached the blockade, Luo Zheng understood the plan and exclaid excitedly, "Old buddy, well played!"
"Piece of cake," the taxi driver replied with a grin, his gaze locked on the sports car ahead.
Suddenly, the sports car made a sharp stop, crashing into the taxis in front with a loud thud. It skidded for several ters before coming to a halt. A person quickly jumped out and dashed towards the hillside beside the expressway. Luo Zheng was alard at the sight, and the taxi driver, cooperating instantly, braked sharply to a stop. Luo Zheng opened the door and said, "Wait here for the police to arrive and deal with this. I'll co to find you later. Don't drive your taxi for the next couple of days; I'm sure the culprit's accomplices have marked your car by now."
"Looks like it's a big case. Understood, do you need help?" the taxi driver offered as he agreed.
"Thanks, but no need," Luo Zheng replied, too rushed to elaborate. He quickly chased after the fleeing figure. Ahead was a slope leading to a small hillock with grass but no trees, offering a clear view. Luo Zheng increased his speed and dashed down the slope.
The other man ran fast, but not as fast as Luo Zheng; the distance between them was quickly closing. Suddenly, Luo Zheng saw the man turn to shoot at him. He quickly dove to the ground to dodge the shot, aiming at the target and firing. The hurried shot missed due to the target's speed and reaction.
"Bastard!" Luo Zheng cursed, his anger rising as he punched the ground. He got up and continued the pursuit, his eyes fixed on his target. He saw the man turn to shoot again and Luo Zheng accelerated sharply to dodge the aim. Despite hearing the gunfire, he was undeterred, his face grim with rage as he chased furiously, his eyes filled with fury.
