Lan Xue quickly ran up, appearing like a ghost under the night sky, heading straight for the silhouette person. Luo Zheng also erged from cover and rushed over. Seeing Lan Xue crouching down to examine the body, he waited beside her, carefully watching the surroundings to ward off any other people. After a while, Lan Xue stood up, and Luo Zheng eagerly asked, "Did you figure it out? What's their background?"
"How could it be them?" Lan Xue didn't directly answer Luo Zheng's question but fell into deep thought, as if she stumbled upon sothing unbelievable. Her eyes gazed into the dark night, flickering with a cold killing intent.
Upon hearing this, Luo Zheng knew Lan Xue had discovered sothing and patiently waited. After a while, Lan Xue turned around, looked at Luo Zheng, and said seriously, "If I'm not mistaken, they are here for you — from the Blood Wolf rcenary Corps."
"Blood Wolf?" Luo Zheng was shocked and stared at Lan Xue incredulously, questioning, "How did they know I am here? Wasn't the last incident classified as highly confidential?"
"I'm not sure about that, but I will investigate thoroughly." Lan Xue looked at the already dead silhouette, crouched down again to ticulously search but still found no clues. She then motioned for Luo Zheng to crouch and pointed to a tattoo on the back of the neck, saying, "Look, rember this symbol. It's the unique mark of the Wild Wolf rcenary Group."
Luo Zheng observed the mark carefully for a while and nodded, "I'm curious, didn't we finish them last ti? Why are there still people from the Wild Wolf rcenary Group?"
"The Wild Wolf rcenary Group ranks tenth in the world's rcenary rankings. We aren't sure exactly how many people they have, but it's definitely no fewer than three hundred. Last ti, it was just a small squad. Wolves hold grudges, and the Wild Wolf rcenary Group is no exception. We killed their people, so they are definitely out for revenge," Lan Xue explained.
"I see, no matter what wolves they are, just kill them when they co. What puzzles is how they know I'm here? Do you know sothing?" Luo Zheng looked at Lan Xue and asked seriously.
"Hm, don't worry, no one can touch you as long as I'm here," Lan Xue said indifferently, not seeming to want to explain too much.
"A man being protected by a woman, don't you think that man is useless? You can protect temporarily, but not forever. The key lies in strengthening my own capabilities. Since you don't want to say, then let's drop it," Luo Zheng said with a helpless smile.
"A sniper is molded by bullets. You'll start live-ammo sniper training tomorrow," Lan Xue said seriously. Seeing Luo Zheng nod, a trace of relief appeared on her cold face. She continued, "You unintentionally saved three lives tonight, which counts as a rit. I will make this public. I believe everyone will not be so hostile towards you anymore. As for Song Yang, he won't recover from his injuries for a month, so he won't bother you."
"Let's just leave it at that. It's better to have little interaction with everyone, no need to spend ti socializing. I just need to train with plenty of ti and ammunition," Luo Zheng said seriously.
Lan Xue thought for a mont and said, "Alright, I will communicate with the instructor privately and also arrange for soone to cook, freeing up lots of ti for your training. Is there anything else you need to do?"
"Thank you," Luo Zheng seriously said, realizing the gap between him and Lan Xue. He dared not harbour any more romantic thoughts and suppressed them firmly, focusing solely on training.
Lan Xue keenly felt the change in Luo Zheng and gave a wry smile, not pointing it out. Every man has his pride, and only the proud can beco strong. She whispered, "Let's go down the mountain."
"I need to train a little more, you go ahead," Luo Zheng seriously said.
"Huh?" Lan Xue looked at Luo Zheng in surprise. It was already past midnight; wouldn't it be too much for his body to continue without rest? But seeing Luo Zheng's determined expression, she didn't persuade him further and went down the mountain carrying the Black Shadow's corps.
Luo Zheng put down his rifle and started to practice military boxing intensely on the open grassland. Feeling annoyed and disturbed, he soon stopped boxing, picked up his rifle, and wandered aimlessly into the depths of the forest. The agreent of two years, to beco stronger than Lan Xue. Could he surpass her in two years? After witnessing Lan Xue's sniping skills, Luo Zheng felt imnse pressure.
Aimlessly, he arrived at a forest on a hillside. Hearing the roar of a waterfall below, he was startled, not expecting there to be such a large waterfall behind the mountain. He walked over and soon reached the foot of the mountain, where he saw a huge waterfall cascading down from a two-hundred-ter-high cliff forming a pool as big as a basketball court, seemingly bottomless. The waterfall crashed onto huge rocks below, splashing water everywhere, a truly magnificent sight.
Seeing this, Luo Zheng had a sudden idea, walked over, quickly took off his clothes, and jumped into the pool, swimming under the waterfall to stand on a huge rock. His upper body erged from the water as he let the waterfall pound on him, bringing intense pain that almost made him pass out.
"Such strong force," Luo Zheng thought in amazent, standing on the rock and pushing against the water in front of him. The pool, churned into a whirlpool by the waterfall, made it nearly impossible to stand steadily. Luo Zheng concentrated all his strength to persist, continuously punching at the water to stabilize his body. Once he got used to the water's force, he started practicing military boxing in the pool.
Boxing in the pool was extrely draining, especially with the erratic swirling of whirlpools, making it hard to maintain balance—such a training environnt tested one's willpower and physical strength the most. Luo Zheng gritted his teeth and continued, slowing down his pace, ensuring each punch was as forceful as possible. After half an hour, Luo Zheng felt completely drained and had to rest, sitting on a less intense part of the waterfall on a rock and starting to regulate his breathing according to the family's Breathing Skill.
Half an hour later, Luo Zheng felt his strength had sowhat recovered. Looking at the roaring waterfall, he gritted his teeth, jumped back into the pool, and resud his boxing practice on that rock. Whenever he got tired, he'd find a place to rest for a while. Ti flew by, and by the ti Luo Zheng felt absolutely exhausted and unable to continue, he realized it had already dawned.
The red sun slowly rose, the morning glow spreading enchanting golden light. Luo Zheng, severely overexerted, could no longer bear it. Just as he reached the shore, he felt darkness before his eyes and collapsed, succumbing to the symptoms of overexertion.

At the training base, Lan Xue got up and imdiately went to find the instructor who was about to lead a training exercise. The two went to a secluded area, and Lan Xue recounted how Luo Zheng had fired shots last night, repelling a formidable enemy and subsequently killing them together. She added at the end, "That warrior has perford a great rit and has high potential as a sniper. I am planning to train him specially. About the cooking duty, could we arrange for soone else to take turns?"
