With his flexible movent technique, precise anticipation, and ruthlessly effective attacks, Luo Zheng thoroughly experienced the strength of the Ninja. Seeing that his opponent could not only dodge his quick shots but also counterattack opportunistically, this kick, although sowhat fancy, was like a fierce cleaver slashing down with a twist of the body leveraging its montum. It carried a fierce montum; substantial and forceful – if one couldn't defend against it, they would either be gravely injured or killed.
The opponent was using a desperate fighting style, which thoroughly aroused Luo Zheng's fighting spirit. Without dodging or yielding, he raised an arm over his head, elbow slightly raised, ready to tough out a spinning kick from the opponent. He slightly crouched, stabilizing his center, this slight bend could block the opponent's murderous attack and also deflect much of the force. His other hand tightly gripped a pistol, aid at the opponent's body, but he didn't shoot, remaining vigilant, resolved that even if his arm were crippled, he would take this person's life.
"Puff!" The opponent's spinning leg fiercely chopped down, making contact with Luo Zheng's crossed elbow, producing a dull sound. Luo Zheng felt an overwhelming force chopping down, nearly collapsing his balance; his body instinctively crouched further, deflecting so of the opponent's impact force, then his other hand, which gripped the gun, rapidly pulled the trigger.
"Bang!" rely a ter apart, the bullet roared forward. The mont Luo Zheng fired, he noticed the opponent weirdly twisted his body. The gunshot sounded; the person fell. Then instantly, a black shadow like a ghost surged toward the outside door, sprinting out several ters in the blink of an eye.
"How fast?" Luo Zheng, considering himself quick, hadn't expected the opponent to be even faster. He saw a few drops of fresh blood on the ground from the corner of his eye, knowing that his last shot had been effective, though he couldn't tell which part of the body had been hit.
"Ratatata!" Gunshots erupted outside, startling Luo Zheng, who imdiately realized that the guards were firing. He had once given the command that anyone rushing out of the office building was to be killed without question. The man in black, wounded and rushing out, naturally ca under attack.
Having received orders from Zheng Duo, the guards were prepared; all guns aid at the doorway. Seeing soone appear, they opened fire full force. A volley from several guns ford a barrage with no cover nearby, leaving no place to hide. Despite the black-clad man's strong abilities and rapid speed, he couldn't outpace the prepared hail of bullets.
Luo Zheng rushed to the doorway, seeing the Black Shadow continuously roll on the ground, moving very quickly, barely managing to dodge everyone's gunfire but unable to stand and escape. Luo Zhang took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, focus and stabilize his breathing, aiming his gun at the Black Shadow, moving it to track the Black Shadow's rolling.
"Bang!" Luo Zheng fired. The last bullet from the chamber, fueled by Luo Zheng's anger, burst out fast as a teor, hitting directly in the opponent's chest and spraying a streak of blood.
After being hit, the figure montarily faltered, and more bullets whizzed towards him, instantly turning him into a hornet's nest. Luo Zheng quickly shouted through his headset, "Stop shooting!" Yet he stood at the doorway, not daring to rush out, lest the guards mistakenly shoot him as the assailant.
Soon, the guards ceased firing, all amazed at the sight of the Black Shadow on the ground and then at Luo Zheng at the doorway. Recognizing Luo Zheng's identity, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. The experience was nerve-wracking; so many people with so many guns, prepared to shoot, yet none could take down the Black Shadow. It was terrifying.
"I'm coming over; do not fire," shouted Luo Zheng loudly. After waiting a couple of seconds, he slowly walked over to the body of the Black Shadow. Looking at the body now riddled with bullet holes, Luo Zheng crouched down, pulled off the man's black hood to reveal a man of the Yellow Race whom he didn't recognize, picked up the man's long knife, and stood up, saying, "Everyone did well. Now, return to your posts and stay sharp."
"Yes," everyone was excited, having killed the assassin, this was indeed a great achievent.
At that mont, Lan Xue, hearing the gunshots and rushing from the living area, saw the dead Black Shadow. Her expression turned stern, she crouched down to observe closely, then glanced at the black long sword engraved with chrysanthemums and a na. Frowning slightly, she pondered for a mont, then sighed in relief, asking, "What happened here?"
Luo Zheng briefly explained the situation. Upon hearing this, Lan Xue's expression grew serious. The security system at the Military Research Institute had been breached, rendering the smart security devices useless. It was fortunate that they discovered the breach early. Otherwise, they wouldn't have known about the Black Shadow's infiltration underground. Once the enemy succeeded, no one could predict what would happen.
"This guy was a Ninja, and not just any but of the Chrysanthemum level, which ans a Royal Imperial Ninja. There are two types of Japanese ninjas: the Sakura and the Chrysanthemum. Sakura can be found in the military, governnt, and civilian areas, but Chrysanthemum belongs to the Imperial Army, just like us, inaccessible to ordinary people. He was a master among ninjas, and his death at our hands is truly gratifying," Lan Xue said with a cold spark in her eyes, her thoughts unknown.
"Is there a problem?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise.
"No, dawn is approaching, and after daylight, I'll notify the Intelligence Team to co and help us readjust the security system here. The ease with which it was breached ans there's a problem, likely a backdoor exploited by the enemy. Additionally, you ntioned infrared detectors, motion sensors, and ground radars; we should install all of these. The enemy has three ninjas; we've only seen one so far. And there are more, including other nations lurking in the shadows. We can't be complacent; we need to enhance the security level," Lan Xue said coldly, her whole body emanating a murderous aura.
"That's good, these people are indeed formidable." Luo Zheng had faced the opponent in combat. In a one-on-one fight, he probably wouldn't stand a chance. The Black Shadow would have likely killed him if it hadn't been so eager to escape. Relieved, he added, "Luckily, we were prepared, and the guards reacted well; otherwise, he would have escaped."
"I examined the wound; this ninja was first hit by your bullet, which slowed him down. Otherwise, the external guards couldn't have stopped him. If it weren't for the subsequent shot, this bastard might have actually escaped. The guards are only responsible for the periter, we must bring in a group of experts to assist," Lan Xue countered Luo Zheng's view, adding her input.
"Alright," Luo Zheng thought it over and saw the sense in her words. This guy had even blocked his close-range shot; how could the ordinary guards outside stand a chance? Without objection, he picked up the long sword to examine it. The blade showed only a single bullet impact without any damage. Impressed, he remarked, "Good blade."
"If you like it, keep it; it's your trophy. Knives used by the Chrysanthemum Ninjas are top-tier cold weapons, able to cut through iron like mud, unaffected by any corrosion, and highly heat-resistant. The black, non-reflective blade with its ergonomic design is perfect for close combat. There aren't many like this in the world," Lan Xue said.
"I don't need to turn it in?" Luo Zheng asked, surprised. Seeing Lan Xue nod, he was overjoyed, picked up the sheath, slipped in the long sword, and laughed excitedly.
