At dusk, Luo Zheng was seated in the surveillance room with Lan Xing and Zheng Duo beside him, one responsible for information and the other for execution, which indeed had solved many of Luo Zheng's problems. One screen displayed footage of the canteen master chef delivering food underground, a longti employee worthy of trust. The food had been personally inspected by Ghost Hand and his team, and there were no issues.

Luo Zheng shifted his gaze to other screens, pondering the possible offensive tactics the enemy might select. The Military Research Institute had been redeployed with defenses set up by the National Blade Intelligence Team. The surveillance was airtight with both visible and hidden caras virtually impossible to bypass. Various high-tech devices were also in use, greatly increasing the difficulty for anyone wanting to infiltrate. After understanding the specific defensive asures, Luo Zheng thought even he couldn't sneak in, and he was very curious about how the opponent would proceed.

"Brother, with our tight defenses, it's impossible for the enemy to infiltrate, right? Plus, we've taken out their carefully planned explosive trap, no more worries there. They also have no clue about our brand-new defensive asures. We have a great chance of winning this battle," Zheng Duo said with so emotion.

"That's not necessarily true. There are plenty of ways to attack this place; you just can't think of them," Lan Xing said indifferently, his hands tapping non-stop on the keyboard, with various command characters scrolling across his computer screen, dazzling to the eye.

"What thods?" Luo Zheng's interest was piqued.

"Look, isn't that one coming?" Lan Xing's expression turned solemn as he suddenly pointed at the screen.

When Luo Zheng leaned in for a closer look, he saw a small bird on the screen, flying freely at a distance. He thought of sothing and his expression shifted slightly. Zheng Duo, unable to make sense of it, asked in surprise, "Where?"

"This is a big city; have you ever seen birds flying so carefree in the sky above a city?" Luo Zheng said irritably, as a hint, "It's probably a hummingbird, a tool used for reconnaissance. I didn't expect these guys to use a hummingbird. They've seen through our defenses clearly."

"What should we do?" Zheng Duo asked, startled.

"Don't look at ," Lan Xing said with a smile, glancing at Luo Zheng.

After contemplating for a mont, Luo Zheng said, "Ignore it. Just do what we need to do. We'll change the deploynt later tonight, keep them guessing. With our superior numbers, the enemy wouldn't dare to make a bold move. They can only sneak around. They didn't succeed yesterday, and with our defenses strengthened, it will be even harder for them now." He said no more, but a sense of unease began to settle in his heart without reason.

Ti ticked by, and the night grew thicker. Luo Zheng contacted Lan Xue and the others underground via headset to make sure everyone was alright, easing his breathing but not his vigilance. The feeling of disquiet in his mind deepened; the passive defensive stance made Luo Zheng very uncomfortable.

After nine o'clock at night, Luo Zheng looked out at the brilliantly lit Sleepless City, with neon lights flickering in tune with people's restless hearts. The streets were bustling with traffic; the sky was pitch black, devoid of stars and even the moon's shadow was absent. The leaves of the trees outside the window rustled in the wind, like elves of the night, but Luo Zheng's mood remained unsettled, the unease in his mind growing ever more intense.

After so thought, Luo Zheng, gritting his teeth, consulted with Lan Xue via headset and then gave the order: all the guards were to retreat to within the compound walls for a vigilant watch, forsaking the outer periter, and he arranged for ten people to guard the main gate. The entire Military Research Institute entered a state of full alert, forbidding entrance or exit.

The staff at the Military Research Institute had long been aware of the potential danger during this period. They stayed at ho, not going out unnecessarily, eting no friends, and those without overti had already finished their workday. The main gate denied entry to anyone, everyone's bullets were loaded, and they waited in solemn vigilance.

"Boom!" Suddenly, a huge explosion erupted, especially startling in the night. Luo Zheng imdiately checked the surveillance footage and found nothing unusual, which made him suspiciously glance towards Lan Xing, thinking that soone might have hijacked the surveillance again. Seeing Lan Xing shake his head with certainty, Luo Zheng turned to Zheng Duo.

Upon hearing the noise, Zheng Duo's complexion changed drastically. He rushed to the window and shouted, "An explosion has occurred in the direction of the employee residential area. The situation is unclear; should I take people over to check?"

"Wait a mont," Luo Zheng said as he approached the window for a glance. Dense smoke billowed and flas soared into the sky in the distance, the destructive power of the explosion was astonishing, chilling his expression as he said with conviction, "Such a massive explosion must be the enemy's tactic of luring the tiger away from the mountain. We cannot act rashly; we must continue to defend with utmost vigilance."

"Then what about the explosion?" Zheng Duo urgently asked, visibly anxious.

"You can't go. You must stay here to assist . Arrange for your deputy to go oversee the firefighting. Tell everyone not to approach the vicinity of the office building, or they will be killed without rcy," Luo Zheng said coldly, his expression frosty and his gaze resolute, his eyes narrowing as he contemplated.

"Are you saying soone deliberately created chaos?" Zheng Duo realized, suddenly understanding Luo Zheng's thinking. With the explosion, chaos would ensue, and in the confusion, people might rush out towards the office building without realizing it. The enemy could be mingled with the crowd, seizing the opportunity to get close to the office building. The more he thought about it, the more alard he beca, and he quickly agreed to Luo Zheng's orders as he phoned to make arrangents.

Seeing Luo Zheng remaining calm and composed in the face of danger, unlike so people who would charge over with a large force at the slightest incident and neglect other areas, Lan Xing laughed and comnted, "You really can keep your cool. What if the enemy escapes?"

"If they've escaped, then so be it. The enemy can never be entirely caught or killed. My task is to guard this place," Luo Zheng said calmly, a glint of anger shining in his steadfast gaze. The enemy's arrogant and unbridled explosion was an insult to him, an intolerable disgrace for a soldier.

But Luo Zheng was also clear that now was not the ti to panic or lose control, which would give away any weaknesses. In just a few words, he communicated the situation and his decisions to Lan Xue and the others in the Intelligence Team underground through his headset, reminding everyone to stay alert. His gaze then returned to the screen. Soon after, several fire trucks with sirens wailing arrived, followed by police cars. Luo Zheng was startled. Wasn't that too fast?

"Enlarge the view of the gate, search the vehicle plates, and stop this convoy for a thorough investigation," Luo Zheng quickly ordered, his eyes fixed on the screen.

"Yes," Lan Xing and Zheng Duo responded at once. When it ca to serious matters, Lan Xing set aside his playful nature, his expression focused and earnest without a hint of negligence.

The arrival of police and fire services was logical and appropriate, but hadn't their response been too fast? It had been only about three minutes since the explosion. When had their efficiency beco so high? Zheng Duo notified the guards at the gate to thoroughly inspect, while Lan Xing investigated the vehicle plates and analyzed photos of the coordinating police for anomalies. Everyone sprang into action.

"Let's hope there are no issues," Luo Zheng thought coldly, his eyes on the screen filled with a fighting spirit.
