The area around a skyscraper in the business center had already been cordoned off by the police, and many citizens gathered to watch, being urged by the police to retreat to a safe area to avoid any accidents, with nurous police cars parked loudly at the entrance. On seeing Shi Feng approaching, the officers cast a curious glance at Luo Zheng holding a knife but did not stop him.
Luo Zheng looked at the police officer who was shouting and said to Shi Feng, "Notify the brothers to retreat to a farther distance, just in case, stop shouting. The other party's identity is not simple. They are not a common criminal and won't surrender easily. I'll go up and et him, Are there any snipers nearby?"
"No, this building is the tallest in the vicinity, and the other party is on the rooftop, so there's no good position for a sniper," Shi Feng said angrily while summoning soone to issue the order to evacuate to an even greater distance.
Luo Zheng looked up at the building, grabbed his knife, and walked inside, with Shi Feng following him. Luo Zheng gestured for Shi Feng to stay put and then took the elevator. As he watched the changing floor numbers, Luo Zheng contemplated his strategy. Before long, the elevator reached the top floor. Luo Zheng cautiously stepped out into the eerily silent corridor, no one was around; he followed the signs to the fire escape and headed for the rooftop.
Pushing open the rooftop fire door, Luo Zheng saw a flat rooftop where a man stood with a gun, and a few won crouched beside him, their faces pale, and in a panic. Suppressing the rage in his heart, Luo Zheng slowly approached with his hands slightly raised to indicate no hostility and said coldly, "I'm here, let them go first."
"Good, you've got guts, I've long heard about a character like you from Huaxia Country and have always wanted to et you. Today seems like a good day to settle this between us," the other party said coldly, his gaze fierce.
Luo Zheng was taken aback and quickly sensed sothing odd, so he asked, "Settle what? Do we have any grudge between us? Fine, we can settle it slowly, let them go first. You seem to be a significant figure yourself, there's no need to leverage hostages. What do you say?"
"My own brother died at your hands, didn't he?" the other party said coldly, his face filled with anger, almost spitting fire, and emanating a wild beast-like aura.
"How would I know who your brother is?" Luo Zheng retorted coldly, his own deanor escalating, ready for confrontation.
"Rember the competition to eliminate the Wolf King? The Sam Country's team made an impression, didn't they?" the other party said coldly.
Luo Zheng was shocked, not expecting this turn of events. Calculating carefully, it was true that the Sam Country's team had died by his hand, but naturally, he couldn't admit it, so he scoffed, "Ridiculous, how would I know how your brother died? Say what you want straight out, no need to involve hostages."
"Get lost," the other party looked coldly at the hostages and barked. The hostages, puzzled, looked toward Luo Zheng, who signaled them to leave quickly. Once the hostages scurried away, the man bellowed, "Now, it's ti for the two of us to co to an understanding. Co on, draw your gun." With that, he aid the gun at Luo Zheng.
"Out of respect for you releasing the hostages, I'll grant you a quick death," Luo Zheng said coldly, slowly drawing his black long knife. The chilling sound of the blade unsheathing sent a shiver down the spine, and as the long knife was fully drawn, he pointed it forward, tracing a black whip-like arc in the void. The long knife abruptly stopped, emitting a soft humming vibration.
"You underestimate ?" the other party said coldly.
"Drawing my blade is enough," Luo Zheng said coldly, holding the long knife across his chest, the tip pointing forward. Although he had not studied sword skill, he had trained with military daggers, which in principle, were much the sa. In close combat, a knife was far more useful than a gun. Luo Zheng looked at his opponent and continued coldly, "Co on."
"Fine, I'll put you out of your misery," said the other man, his face turning cold and his eyes narrowing into slits.
Luo Zheng keenly noticed a twitch in the other man's shoulder muscles, the precursor to firing a shot. The brain's command to shoot had to pass through the shoulder before reaching the hand. Luo Zheng shoveled forward and crouched slightly to narrowly avoid a lethal shot. He then pushed off the ground with force, surging forward like a striking python, fast as lightning. The long knife in his hand chopped down viciously.
This series of actions flowed smoothly, swift and efficient. The mont the man pulled the trigger, he realized his target had vanished. By the ti he reacted, he saw a black long knife slashing down like lightning, causing a great shock. He barely managed to slide aside, and the long knife narrowly missed his chest, shaving off all the buttons.
Luo Zheng hadn't expected to succeed with a single blow. As the long knife moved from bottom to top, he continued with an upward slash aid directly at his target. The man exhibited so skill, leaning backward at a sixty-degree angle, the blade's edge grazing past his face with a crisp buzzing sound, narrowly dodging the deadly strike.
After missing again, Luo Zheng was about to continue his assault when he saw the man kick out, his leg whipping like iron. Luo Zheng rotated 180 degrees to avoid the kick, continuing to slash upwards with the long knife, aiming for the leg that the man had just used. However, he found the man was already rotating 360 degrees in the void, avoiding the knife's attack by a hair's breadth.
Then, the man continued to flip backward 360 degrees in the air, fast and agile in his movent technique. Luo Zheng's expression tightened, knowing he had encountered a skilled opponent. Without a mont's hesitation, he chased after him with a lunge, seeing the man's flying kick hurtling toward his knife-wielding wrist. Luo Zheng, feeling ruthless, threw the long knife to his other hand and reached out to grab the man's foot.
"Thud!" Luo Zheng caught the man's foot and felt a surge of imnse power, lifting him off his feet. Alard by the terrifying force, he slashed back with the hand holding the long knife, aiming for the leg he had just caught.
Seeing his kick hadn't sent Luo Zheng flying, a flicker of panic crossed the man's resolute gaze. The foot he stood on suddenly leaped, his body twisting, his leg lashing out like a steel whip straight towards Luo Zheng's head. If this strike landed, Luo Zheng's head would certainly shatter. At the sa ti, Luo Zheng's long knife was already slashing upward. He would hit the man's caught leg, but his head would also be struck by the man's other leg, leading to a mutually destructive outco.
"What a vicious tactic," Luo Zheng stared intensely, suddenly pushing forward powerfully with the palm that held one of the man's legs. Caught midair, the man lost his balance and leverage. His body was sent flying backward by Luo Zheng, the lethal kick aid at his head sweeping just an inch away, bringing a fierce wind with it.
Luo Zheng had neutralized the man's attack, and the up-slash with the long knife didn't stop. Swish! The knife ripped through the veil of space without resistance, cutting into the man's ankle bone, and blood sprayed wildly.
"Ah!" The man scread, his body rebounding like a wounded wolf, his eyes full of murderous intent as he lunged to grab the arm with which Luo Zheng held the knife.
Luo Zheng's fingers were strong. He threw the long knife and caught it firmly with his other hand, suddenly feeling a great force pulling, unbalancing him and dragging him towards the roof's edge railing. They were only a few ters apart, and the man desperately pulled Luo Zheng along. By the ti Luo Zheng reacted, he was already at the edge.
