Luo Zheng did not imdiately reveal his thoughts but gazed intently in the direction of the valley tribe, his face etched with deep contemplation. He analyzed the feasibility of his ideas. Knowing Luo Zheng's habit of planning before acting, everyone remained silent and waited. After a while, the seriousness on Luo Zheng's face was replaced by determination. He spoke calmly, "Brothers, this mission is extraordinarily tough. It's not sothing that can be accomplished in a single day. In this primordial forest, we need a stronghold, a guide familiar with the surroundings. The tribe inhabitants in the valley are undoubtedly the best option. Helping others is helping ourselves. What do you think?"
Everyone's eyes brightened and they began to ponder. Surviving in the primordial forest wasn't difficult, but maintaining robust physical and ntal strength was not so simple. Without these as a guarantee, the likelihood of completing the mission would greatly decrease. Having a stronghold would change everything, and with soone familiar with the terrain to assist, the success rate would significantly increase. Smiles spread across everyone's faces, and Ghost Hand remarked with emotion, "Young brother, your ideas are always unexpected. I think it's feasible."
"What do you all think?" Lan Xue looked towards Mountain Eagle and Snow Leopard. Being part of a team, and as the captain, Lan Xue had to balance internal relationships and also draw on collective wisdom, respecting everyone's opinions. Seeing everyone nodding in agreent, Lan Xue's expression relaxed. He looked at Luo Zheng and said, "Then it's settled."
"There are nearly a hundred enemies in the village. We three will snipe from a distance. Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard, you two go to et the tribe inhabitants and guide them up the mountain," Luo Zheng imdiately laid out his plan.
"Roger that." Everyone promptly agreed, checked their weapons, and rushed down the mountain.
Their hiding spot was about a thousand ters away from the valley, downhill, and the ground was relatively even, making the path easy to tread. They charged down with vigor, and at about three hundred ters away, Luo Zheng, Lan Xue, and Mountain Eagle lined up, each finding a place to hide, while Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard continued to charge forward.
Luo Zheng took cover under a large tree that had been struck down by lightning and now lay on the ground, propped up by a stone, forming a gap large enough for a person to lie prone. He swiftly observed the tribe, noticing about thirty-odd tribe inhabitants being herded toward the village square. Nurous ard gunn pointed their weapons at the people, and soone was giving a speech, but he was too far away to hear clearly.
"It's you," Luo Zheng murmured coldly, aiming his gun at the person speaking. He whispered into his earpiece, "In position. Where are you guys?"
"In position," ca the responses from Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle. Not long after, Ghost Hand spoke with suppressed anger, "These bastards, they killed three children and two elderly. I'm in the bushes a hundred ters from the tribe. Give the order."
"In position, give the order," Snow Leopard also spoke angrily, his voice filled with a strong desire for vengeance. Clearly, he too had witnessed the horrific acts, which ignited a sense of justice within him.
"Everyone, be careful. Mountain Eagle, take out the left machine gunner. I'll handle the one on the right. Ghost, target the enemy officers. Ghost Hand, suppress the enemy with firepower. Snow Leopard, guide the villagers up the mountain. Move," Lan Xue ordered coldly.
"Affirmative!" Everyone responded coldly, their killing intent soaring.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng quickly squeezed the trigger. The sniper bullet whistled through the Void, carving a deadly shockwave in its path and, in an instant, drilled into the back of the talking man's head, exploding violently, splattering brain and blood.
"Whoosh whoosh!" Almost simultaneously, Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle also fired their guns. Two machine gunners were instantly headshot, their bodies slumping onto their guns as blood quickly painted the weapons red.
The sudden turn of events threw the entire tribe into chaos. The villagers huddled together in panic. The Japanese invaders crouched on the ground, aiming their guns and shooting wildly into the woods. Luo Zheng watched coldly, his heart as still as still water. Killing the invaders brought no pressure, only exhilaration. He noticed one man squatting on the ground, shouting sothing, a pistol in his hand—a sure sign he was an officer.
"Your turn," Luo Zheng muttered with a cold smile curling the corner of his mouth. He quickly aid for the man's head, but on second thought, lowered his rifle to the man's thigh instead. Killing an officer wouldn't disperse the troops; another officer would simply take over command. But wounding one might be different. In a bid to get treated quickly and save his own life, he might order a retreat.
"Whoosh." Luo Zheng pulled the trigger emotionlessly, ejecting the casing with a crisp sound. The bullet roared forward, carrying all of Luo Zheng's fury and expectation, buzzing through the Void and smashing into the target's thigh, tearing through muscle. eting the thigh bone, the bullet's montum caused it to spin, completely pulverizing the surrounding flesh. The leg snapped and blood flooded the ground in an instant.
With the firepower of the Type 09 sniper rifle, one could precisely strike light armored targets, fire points, personnel, fortifications, light vehicles, radars, and other significant objectives within 1,000 ters, and destroy control information systems, parked aircraft, missiles on launchers, radars, fuel depots, ammunition depots, light vehicles, ships, and more within 1,500 ters. Its attacking power was terrifying. For a target just 300 ters away, hitting the thigh was a piece of cake.
Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw the target collapse to the ground, rolling around with both hands clutching his thigh. Others went to help, suggesting the man had a high rank and position. Luo Zheng couldn't help but laugh and continued his search for more targets. He noted that most of the Japanese hid behind houses to return fire, while a few were laying on the ground, shooting blindly.
"Rat-tat-tat!" Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard charged forward, firing bursts at the enemy ahead, quickly clearing the frontal targets. As they neared the tribal village, Luo Zheng, concerned for their safety, gave up searching for officers and quickly moved his gun to spot a Japanese soldier peeking out and taking aim at Ghost Hand, ready to fire.
"Whoosh!" Luo Zheng squeezed the trigger in a swift motion. The bullet, like a roaring Fierce Beast from ancient tis, slamd into the target with force, sending him flying five or six ters. The bullet began to spin, like a high-speed drill, instantly shredding the chest cavity. The body fell to the ground with a huge gaping hole in its chest, lifeless.
The terrifying lethality frightened the Japanese, no longer daring to move recklessly. Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard stord forward, loudly signaling to the tribespeople. Despite the language barrier, it didn't prevent the villagers from understanding that rescue had arrived. Encouraged by a few braver individuals, they rushed forward.
"Bang bang bang!" Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard calmly fired controlled bursts at enemies trying to shoot to halt the villagers' escape, covering everyone's retreat. But the enemy was too nurous. Seeing the villagers attempting to flee and without waiting for orders from their officers, they opened fire. Almost simultaneously, Luo Zheng swapped to an Incendiary Bomb and aid at a house.
There were Japanese soldiers behind that house, more than one. A sniper bullet could easily penetrate the trunks of trees and mud-brick houses, but it would only kill one target and wouldn't have the desired deterrent effect. The Incendiary Bomb roared through the Void, extending a scorching hot energy shockwave behind it, and instantly penetrated the house.
