Luo Zheng flung the enemy away and, with a tiger's leap, hid behind a sandbag, avoiding the enemy's gunfire. He grabbed a gun from a nearby corpse without hesitation, raised it over the sandbag, ready to fire, when suddenly, a loud "boom" startled him into quickly ducking back for cover, avoiding the harm from the explosion.

After the blast, Luo Zheng didn't hear any gunfire, so he carefully peeked out and saw another enemy lying in a pool of blood, bleeding profusely, obviously injured by shrapnel from the grenade. Relieved, he sprinted forward, knowing that the explosion might possibly attract others to co check.

Just a few steps ahead, he saw a swarm of police cars coming, sirens wailing. Luo Zheng panicked, turned around, and ran back. Seeing the scattered sandbags and corpses at the sentry post, he had a brainwave. He picked up two military sabers—one hidden inside his sleeve and the other at his lower back—then sared the blood from a corpse on his face and body, rolled on the ground, and randomly chose a spot to lay down and continue playing "dead."

Luo Zheng was gambling, betting that the police wouldn't recognize the Military mbers. Dressed in a Military uniform, with his identity obscured and his face smothered in blood, it was hard to say whether he could slip by unnoticed, but it was currently the best option. Shortly, a large number of police arrived, sealed off the area, and began moving the bodies. Dawn was breaking, and if the public or journalists got wind and ca here, how would the governnt save face?

The police, eager to clear the scene and unable to recognize faces because everyone looked similar, paid no attention to Luo Zheng. Two officers picked him up and carried him down the mountain. Luo Zheng lay completely still, feigning death as the officers moved him. After a while, he felt tossed aside and didn't dare open his eyes.

Waiting a while longer, Luo Zheng felt bodies being thrown on top of him—it was corpses. He endured the pain and didn't move. Soon, he heard a door shutting, then he started to stir. A thought crossed his mind, and he slowly opened his eyes to find himself lying amongst several bodies in a vehicle, with two police officers sitting beside him.

The van was a closed patrol vehicle, the front and back separated, so the driver couldn't see inside the back. The two officers, arms cradling guns, were conversing in low, serious tones, not paying any attention to Luo Zheng among the dead. After waiting a bit, Luo Zheng thought it was ti to act; they must have left Fushan by now, so he slowly drew out the saber from his sleeve.

Just then, the vehicle made a sharp turn, throwing the officers off balance as they grabbed the side rails. Seizing the rare opportunity, Luo Zheng waited for the vehicle to stabilize, then suddenly burst from among the corpses, his saber flashing as he swiftly stabbed it at one of the officers.

The attack was so sudden that the officer had no ti to react. The saber slashed swiftly across the officer's throat, blood spurting out in a grotesque display of death in the void. Luo Zheng didn't linger to observe, his blade's edge sweeping on to viciously pierce another officer's chest. With a twist, the second officer, dying, couldn't comprehend what had happened, seeing only a Black Shadow akin to a Demon pounce before losing all sense of the world.

After swiftly dispatching the two officers, Luo Zheng looked at the door—it was locked from the outside. He moved to the front of the vehicle, and with a powerful punch, thumped the driver's cab, which made a loud thud. The driver, thinking it was his partner, decelerated and pulled over to open the door.

Luo Zheng grabbed one of the officer's pistols and shot the approaching officer in the forehead, swiftly leaping out of the vehicle. He rushed to the driver's seat, saw an officer poking his head out of the window to look around, quickly aid for his forehead and fired, killing the officer. Luo Zheng then breathed a sigh of relief.

The surroundings were the outskirts of the city, fields, hills, and villages. Simply running away definitely wouldn't work. Luo Zheng quickly threw the body of the policeman who had co down to check into the carriage, shut the door, then moved the policeman from the driver's seat to the passenger seat. He started the car himself, and, seeing that the policeman's forehead was still bleeding, he pulled the cap down a bit to make it look like he was sound asleep.

After doing all this, Luo Zheng hurriedly drove forward. Many police cars ca his way, as well as quite a few military vehicles used for transporting troops, but no one suspected the patrol car driven by Luo Zheng. He calmly maintained speed, and before he knew it, he had entered the city. Luo Zheng parked the car to the side, quickly took off the military uniform, set down his equipnt, thought for a mont, took the pistol from the policeman on the passenger seat, and quickly jumped out of the car.

This city was very unfamiliar to Luo Zheng. Looking at the neon lights flickering and the occasional flow of traffic, it was indeed an international tropolis. Luo Zheng walked swiftly forward, passing through a street block and checking the road signs—there were similarities between Japanese and Huaxia languages. Guessing as he went along, he finally figured out his approximate location. Then, recalling the maps he had seen, he ford coordinates in his mind, quickly deduced the general direction of the embassy, and walked briskly towards it.

Taking a taxi was easy, but with the language barrier, accidents could easily happen and it would expose him. Luo Zheng had looked at maps for several days, morizing the city's roads well. Confident in his bearings, he didn't worry about getting lost. He moved through streets and alleys, noting many police at the road junctions on high alert, figuring that the Japanese must have beco wary and started a systematic search. He secretly rejoiced that he hadn't taken a vehicle; otherwise, he would not have been able to escape.

With the police conducting stringent searches, it was sowhat inappropriate to continue walking openly on the streets. Luo Zheng ca to an alleyway and saw a young man staggering, holding a bottle of alcohol. An idea struck him, and with a quick step, he moved forward, knocked the man unconscious onto the ground, took off the man's clothes and shoes and put them on himself. After doing all this, Luo Zheng picked up the alcohol bottle, poured the liquor on his face, and used the clothes he'd taken off to clean the bloodstains. In this way, he completely transford into another person, with not a trace of the battlefield left on him.

Having done all this, Luo Zheng walked out of the dark alley, threw the clothes he had changed out of into a garbage bin in a secluded corner, and staggered forward. Reaching the main street, a police car quickly rushed over and imdiately stopped Luo Zheng. With eyes half-closed, he pretended to stagger on, gulping down the last bit of liquor from the bottle, stumbled, and fell to the ground.

Two policen quickly ran over to help Luo Zheng up and started asking him questions. Unfortunately, Luo Zheng couldn't understand a word and silently swore that when he returned, he would definitely master Japanese as soon as possible—it would be useful when killing those devils. However, he pretended to be drunk and shouted, "Booze, I want booze, I want booze." His body went limp, and he fell into a policeman's arms, feigning sleep.

The policen noticed Luo Zheng's accent and exchanged a glance with each other. They lifted Luo Zheng into the car and drove straight to the police station.
