"How's it looking?" A familiar voice rang out as a figure rushed over, hunkered down beneath a large tree, coldly firing continuous shots forward while speaking with thick concern.
"I'm fine," Luo Zheng replied gratefully, "We can't get out, what should we do?"
"You said it?" Shadow replied nonchalantly, continuing to target the approaching enemy with precise shots.
"Even if I die, I'll die on the charge. To die alongside my comrades tonight, I have no regrets. Kill!" Luo Zheng's fighting spirit fully ignited, fearless, with a sense of finality, he burst out towards the front, continuously firing his weapon as if he were an enraged tiger launching a desperate counterattack against a pack of wolves, carrying with him a mix of tragic valor, lofty pride, and murderous intent.
"Things just got interesting." Shadow saw Luo Zheng's potential burst forth, his speed significantly increasing and couldn't be happier. Shadow himself could have run away with his own speed, but Luo Zheng's arrival disrupted his retreat plan. Although slightly angry, he was clear that Luo Zheng ant well and could not just abandon him and leave.
Shadow, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, let another long knife fly from his hand, not bothering to check the outco, took several frantic steps forward, saw a gun, and with a diving roll, narrowly avoided incoming strafing fire, picking up the gun and continuing his desperate sprint, firing non-stop, forcing the enemies to keep their heads down as he chased in Luo Zheng's direction.
Soon, Shadow caught up with Luo Zheng, and the two of them, one on the left and one on the right, spaced two to three ters apart, surged forward fiercely. Their quick pace made it difficult for the Guard to lock on. By the ti they pulled the trigger, the two were no longer in the distance. Plus, with the low visibility under the moonlight and the obstruction of the trees, it was difficult to carry out effective shooting.
The duo pushed on through the gunfire, not caring about the bullets sweeping their way, ready to risk it all. Two figures, like dark shadows, flickered through the woods. With a few leaps and bounds, they had cleared a hundred ters and burst out of the encirclent, which greatly irritated the Guards, who chased after them.
Noticing there were no more enemies ahead, they didn't stop, but ran with all their might. Shadow even turned back to fire a few precise shots, killing the leading enemies. Luo Zheng, knowing his own pace, dared not look back to avoid delaying the escape, and ran wildly without turning his head, as he hated the feeling of being a burden on the battlefield.
This discomfort spurred Luo Zheng to sprint at his maximum potential. Under this burst of power, he moved effortlessly through the forest, running at the fastest speed of his life and quickly throwing the pursuers off his trail. After a while, he looked around to find no sign of Shadow and was surprised. Luo Zheng could not bear to leave a comrade behind on the battlefield, so he quickly stopped, ready to turn back, when suddenly a loud shout ca from behind him, "Run fast!"
Upon hearing the voice, Luo Zheng knew it was Shadow. He hadn't realized that Shadow had been behind him all along, proving him truly worthy of being the Special Warfare Team mber most likely to beco the Strongest Soldier King. In that mont, Luo Zheng respected Shadow imnsely; the guy was simply too formidable.
The pair accelerated in their retreat, the enemy gunfire growing more distant. As they ran, Luo Zheng realized sothing: With Shadow's skills and speed, he likely didn't engage in close combat with the Ninjas because he couldn't escape but rather stopped on purpose, aiming to take the opportunity to hunt down a few Ninjas. Reflecting on the earlier combat, despite the dangers and constraints, Shadow always managed to seize opportunities to kill Ninjas. If Luo Zheng hadn't opened fire at that ti, Shadow, with his skills and speed, would have surely escaped unscathed.
"It seems I've done sothing unnecessary," Luo Zheng said with so annoyance. In the face of absolute power, his actions seed rather foolish. With this thought, Luo Zheng stole a glance at Shadow, only to see Shadow's brow slightly creased, his face ice-cold, lost in thought.
Luo Zheng knew he had beco a burden to Shadow. He gritted his teeth and sprinted without daring to pause. Suddenly he heard Shadow say, "You keep charging ahead, use the military's ans to escape, and I'll draw off the tail behind us."
"There's a tail behind us?" Luo Zheng was startled and involuntarily looked back. Under the dim moonlight, he could not see anything in the woods, but Luo Zheng was aware of Shadow's abilities. If Shadow said there was sothing, there definitely was; it was just that he himself couldn't see it. Trusting in Shadow's capabilities, he nodded without hesitation and said, "Okay, be careful."
"Get moving. There's no ti to lose. I'll have a go with those ninjas. I've been holding back for two months," Shadow said coldly, coming to a halt with a sharp look in his eyes, radiating a chilling killing intent.
Luo Zheng continued to run forward through the woods and soon reached the sentry post they'd passed earlier. Suddenly he saw a large group of military troops rushing by. Seizing the mont, he collapsed to the ground, feigning death. The troops did not even glance at the "corpses" on the ground as they hurried past, no one suspecting Luo Zheng, in the sa uniform.
After waiting a while and making sure everyone had passed, Luo Zheng slowly opened his eyes, only to be shocked to find two soldiers standing just ahead, backs turned, vigilantly scanning the surroundings, apparently left to guard the scene. Luo Zheng's heart sank, but his hand reached for a gun lying nearby.
Gun in hand, Luo Zheng felt a surge of confidence. He took the military dagger off the gun and observed the two enemies. Then, an idea struck him. He pretended to cough in agony, drawing the attention of the two soldiers. The careful n turned around and quickly spotted Luo Zheng.
On the battlefield, it was not uncommon for people to be knocked unconscious by a blast and wake up after so ti. The soldiers assud Luo Zheng was one of these cases, but they still exchanged a cautious glance and approached, one in front and one behind, with the one in the rear keeping watch from about five ters away as the other ca to check, talking all the while.
Luo Zheng couldn't understand what was being said, but he continued to feign a few painful coughs. When the person in front got within a ter of him, he suddenly sprang into action. The military dagger in his hand flew towards the person behind as he lunged at the enemy in front with lightning speed, like a ferocious tiger, exuding a fierce aura of death.
However, this enemy was not lacking in skill. His body dropped sharply, dodging Luo Zheng's throat-lock. Luo Zheng was shocked to find that the enemy behind had also avoided the military dagger and was aiming his gun to shoot. Luo Zheng swiftly dodged, grabbing the enemy in front of him to use as a shield while spinning around.
Both n were in the sa uniform, and the rotation was so fast that the other enemy couldn't identify his target, left just staring. Seeing that the enemy was hesitant to fire, Luo Zheng was even more cautious. He exerted force in his arm, throwing the man to one side. But the enemy, realizing Luo Zheng's intent, didn't resist. He leaped away, hoping to clear a space for his comrade to shoot, unaware that the pin on his grenade had been pulled as he moved.
