Facing a formidable enemy with only one path other than surrender—that was a fight to the death. According to the National Blade's rules, the Intelligence Team and Equipnt Team mbers could be captured and wait for rescue if absolutely necessary, but mbers of the Special Warfare Team could not. They had only the path of a fight to the death, preferring death over capture, fighting until death, never kneeling to live.
"Dada Dada!" Luo Zheng, using the surrounding trees for cover, rolled his body agilely to dodge the bullet attacks. His magazines from both guns were emptied. Facing encircling formidable foes and having no chance to reload, Luo Zheng's expression darkened. Without ti to check on Shadow, he threw his guns away and grabbed a long saber, dashing towards the nearby bushes.
The enemy was nurous, and the distance was not great. On this narrow path, the brave would prevail. Luo Zheng was determined to take a few enemies with him if he was to die. Without bullets, he used whatever he could grab. Killing didn't rely solely on guns; a cold weapon like a sword was also very appropriate, especially a sharp Japanese saber.
"Dada Dada!" The dense bullets almost followed Luo Zheng's footsteps, forcing him to keep rolling through the forest without hesitation or pause for dodging. Suddenly, he saw a black figure pouncing towards him. Just as he raised his saber, he heard Shadow shout, "Retreat!"
Luo Zheng was startled. He saw sothing flying towards him, jumped up like a carp, and caught it—it was a gun. His spirits lifted instantly. He started spraying bullets at several guards just five or six ters away, standing back-to-back with Shadow. Continuously targeting enemies appearing ahead; there were too many enemies to break through. Abandoning the idea of breaking out, he shouted, "We can't run anymore."
"Then we don't run. We die together." Shadow saw the guards completely closing in, the nearest only seven or eight ters away. If not for the trees providing cover, they would have been shot dead already. His face darkened as he shouted with a murderous aura, his chilling eyes gleaming, showing no sign of panic.
"Good, we die together, hahaha!" Luo Zheng laughed heartily, ready to risk everything. His hands kept firing the gun, continuously targeting people attempting to approach.
But the enemy wasn't weak either. They quickly organized and intensified their firepower. Almost simultaneously, both n hit the ground to dodge the barrage of bullets. They rolled behind trees and continued to retaliate. Amidst it all, Luo Zheng suddenly heard Shadow shouting, "Follow !" He turned in surprise and saw Shadow charging ahead, creating a dark figure through the moonlit forest.
"Such speed," Luo Zheng was shocked. Suddenly, he saw Shadow wielding a long saber in each hand under the moonlight, moving like the scythe of Death God, severing the heads of two charging guards and kicking a Ninja far away with a powerful thrust.
The ferocious combat style instantly roused Luo Zheng, who chased after Shadow without hesitation, disregarding the enemy gunfire from behind. He ran forward, using Bullet Avoidance Steps, and saw an enemy peering from behind a tree. Quickly suppressing them with gunfire, Shadow seized the opportunity to charge forward, cutting the opponent down, blood spurting wildly.
With Shadow charging ahead and Luo Zheng covering with firepower from behind, their fierce tactics disoriented the guards, tearing open a gap in the encirclent. Soon, Luo Zheng's magazine was empty again, leaving a critical gap in their firepower. This was deadly for both Luo Zheng and Shadow, and, naturally, the guards wouldn't miss this opportunity; they erged and concentrated a dense volley of bullets towards them.
The two quickly found a place to hide, and Luo Zheng was about to change his magazine when he suddenly saw a ninja charging towards him at a high speed, a long sword held against his chest radiating chillness, causing Luo Zheng to be greatly startled. Without the magazine loaded, he couldn't fire back, so Luo Zheng scrambled up and swung his gun to block.
"Dang!" The sword was blocked by the gun, emitting a crisp sound. Luo Zheng felt a great force sweep over him, causing his arm to go numb. The gun in his hand was slightly deford, and he could barely hold it steady, which terrified him. He saw the ninja kick out rapidly and imdiately dodged to the side.
At that mont, the ninja's long sword chopped down, carrying an aura of the Death God. Luo Zheng's face paled, knowing that retreating ant death, he steeled his heart, not retreating but advancing to attack the Jianjing acupoint on the ninja's arm that held the sword; this acupoint was connected to the Dazhui acupoint and the acromial ridge, the highest point of the shoulder, a convergence of the Lesser Yang of the hand and foot, and the Bright Yang of the foot with the Yang Linking ridian. If hit, it would numb the lower body and cause a loss of combat ability.
The acupoint Striking Fist Skill Luo Zheng had trained was superb, and his acupoint identification was accurate. From the brief exchange, Luo Zheng knew the opponent's strength was great. To take him down, he could only strike the acupoints. Just as his fist was about to hit the Jianjing acupoint, Luo Zheng saw the opponent's body unnaturally tremble slightly, which terrified him, but it was already too late.
The shoulders are hard due to the bones; if he failed to hit the acupoints and hit elsewhere instead, it would hardly cause any damage. Luo Zheng didn't expect the opponent to react so quickly, almost as if he knew acupoint Striking Fist Skill. The slight tremble perfectly dodged the fist. Knowing things were going badly, he tried to retreat explosively, but it was too late.
"Puh" A fierce kick ca flying towards him, hitting him squarely in the torso. Fortunately, Luo Zheng was prepared and blocked it with his palm, but his body was sent flying as if struck by a speeding train, blood surging violently, nearly causing him to faint. Midair, Luo Zheng felt soone catch him and tried to resist, but his strength was drastically drained and he had no power to fight back. Anxious, he suddenly heard a familiar voice shout, "You're courting death."
Luo Zheng instantly realized it was Shadow who had caught him, which brought him joy. He felt himself being placed on the ground and, turning his head, saw Shadow step forward quickly and also deliver a kick, sending the approaching ninja flying a great distance, crashing heavily against a tree and sliding down.
"Eh?" Luo Zheng was greatly surprised, not expecting to have so much in common with Shadow. The ninja who had kicked him was actually unable to withstand a single kick from Shadow, which made him wryly smile. No wonder Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle said staying would be a burden. It certainly was so. Then he heard the booming voice of Shadow again, "You're courting death!"
Luo Zheng was terrified and suddenly snapped to his senses, seeing a flash of white blur past right under his eyes. When he turned his head, a ninja was stabbed with a long sword, the blade passing through his body and the sheer force pinning the corpse against a tree, the hilt still humming.
"So powerful." Luo Zheng was full of admiration. With Shadow attacking full force in rage, the power was astonishing. His blood ignited again, and seeing a gun so five to six ters away, he dove towards it, picked it up, and rolled up to his feet, firing a burst at the three guards who were now only three to four ters away. He cursed himself inwardly, scolding that it was improper to be distracted during a life-and-death fight. If not for Shadow's intervention, he might have died several tis over.
