Two fists are hard to match against four hands, and even a ferocious tiger can't withstand a pack of wolves. With no alternatives, Shadow was forced to give up a pri opportunity to attack. Squatting down, he dodged the attacks coming from above, swung his long sword three tis in rapid succession to block the lower strikes, and with a sweeping leg kick, he sent a Ninja crashing to the ground. Seizing the chance, Shadow darted away, leaping out of the circle ford by his four assailants. Then, with a sudden return, his long sword traced a streak like a teor, aid straight at a Ninja.
The Ninjas hadn't expected Shadow to counterattack instead of fleeing when the opportunity arose, and their formation was instantly thrown into disarray. The gaze of the Ninja locked onto by Shadow flashed with a glint of desperation. Instead of retreating, he charged at the long sword, completely disregarding his own life as he thrust his blade fiercely at Shadow.
The exquisite swordsmanship and the desperado technique made Luo Zheng's scalp tingle with alarm, realizing that the group was ruthlessly difficult to deal with -- cruel to their enemies and even crueler to themselves. He saw Shadow's sword mysteriously flick upward, deflecting the Ninja's long sword, his hand swiftly pulling at another attacking Ninja's blade amidst the sparks, his body eerily twisting and falling backward as a long sword grazed his nose.
Capitalizing on this, Shadow's blade, following the motion, hissed as it made a deep cut in soone's thigh, blood spurting out like an arrow. With a successful strike, Shadow rolled backward onto the ground and kept rolling until he was right beneath another Ninja, his long sword slashing upward fiercely.
This Ninja hadn't expected Shadow's movents to be so swift, but instead of backing away, he stood his ground, his long sword slashing decisively at Shadow's neck—a gambit to exchange his legs for Shadow's life. This tactic, even if it resulted in his death, would disrupt Shadow's rhythm and buy ti for his comrades.
Witnessing this, Luo Zheng gained a deeper understanding of the Ninjas. Their coordination was formidable, their thods ruthless. Just as he was about to intervene, he sensed more people arriving and turned to see an officer followed by a dozen n. The officer yelled a few commands, and the Ninjas imdiately let out a peculiar cry, with three more joining the fray.
One against eight, even with Shadow's exceptional prowess, was imdiately beset with dangers in the onslaught of the eight Ninjas, with his life hanging by a thread. Luo Zheng was shocked, the opportunity for combat not forthcoming, but instead, a deadly command. Realizing he could wait no longer, his expression darkened as he was about to act, when he suddenly noticed two guns on the ground and conveniently picked one up.
With a gun in hand, Luo Zheng felt a surge of confidence. He quickly aid at the Ninjas encircling Shadow with fierce determination. The guns in his hands fired almost simultaneously, "rat-tat-tat!" Bullets roared out, charged with full murderous intent, striking several Ninjas in an instant. Luo Zheng didn't stop; he hooked one gun with his foot, flipping it up, and kicked it towards Shadow.
The "rat-tat-tat" of the two automatic rifles continued to roar. The sudden turn of events caught the Ninjas off guard. By the ti they reacted, five or six were already hit, startling even those who were attacking Shadow. They fell back from the fight to reassess the situation, but this pause gave Shadow his chance.
Shadow did not bother to see who had lent the support, nor did he have the leisure to care. His sword left his hand in a sweeping motion, tracing a white arc through the Void, and scared one attacking Ninja into quickly lying flat on the ground to dodge the blade. It was as if Shadow knew this would happen, and with a swift step forward, he sprung up, catching the flying gun effortlessly.
With the gun in hand, Shadow could tell from its weight and feel how many bullets were left. At his level of expertise, his sensitivity to firearms was incredibly refined. Midair, the gun in Shadow's hand ca to life like a living serpent, twisting to aim at the dodging Ninjas, roaring as it fired.
"Da da da!" The gun in Shadow's hand roared to life, its bullets as if guided by sight, chasing after the evading ninjas. With a terrifying screech, they shot forward like teors, like lightning, chilling to the core.
In the midst of chaos, Shadow spotted soone dressed in the imperial guards' uniform, holding a gun in each hand, ferociously pursuing the ninjas. His expression was calm as still water, his eyes cold and murderous against the moonlight, not quite clear but feeling oddly familiar. Seeing the imperial guard aim at his target, he quickly swiveled the barrel of his gun and swiftly pulled the trigger.
"Da da da!" Three precise bursts, three imperial guards' heads burst, and Luo Zheng saw the remaining ninjas taking cover. He swept the gun from side to side, firing at the imperial guards on both flanks while madly dashing towards Shadow's position—a desperate tactic relying on luck and seizing the mont.
The sudden gunfire was all about timing, creating a crisis once the enemy caught on. One had to run, and running required luck. Luo Zheng felt his own luck wasn't good; had it not been for a month of intense training that had slightly increased his speed, the bullets wouldn't have just grazed him, they would have hit directly.
As he ran, Luo Zheng could feel every hair on his body standing on end, a chill running down his spine, his muscles stiffening from the tension. Seeing Shadow taking a kneeling position to shoot, aiming behind him, Luo Zheng realized that he wouldn't be alive if not for Shadow's covering fire.
"Da da da!" Luo Zheng saw enemies attempting to flank Shadow from behind and quickly sprayed bullets their way. The angry bullets screeched through the air, hitting enemies in the front, causing others to drop down and take cover—montarily easing the danger for Shadow. Then he heard Shadow's boisterous shout, "I didn't expect you to co, let's have a blast killing them today."
With enemies all around, escaping was easier said than done. Luo Zheng couldn't stand by and watch Shadow get killed; he had to lend a hand. But by doing so, he also exposed himself. Facing a hail of incoming bullets, Luo Zheng's face soured, aware that things probably wouldn't end well today, and with a resolute heart, he also shouted, "Alright, we live and die together!"
"We live and die together," Shadow declared, his voice full of vigor. He rolled on the ground, his gun seemingly taking on a life of its own, accurately picking off each approaching enemy and forcefully suppressing the enemy's attack.
"Click!" Out of bullets, Shadow's heart sank. Then he saw sothing that looked like a magazine being tossed his way. He rolled over, suddenly feeling an overwhelming danger engulfing him. His body sprang up, and as he leaped into the air, the empty magazine slipped off, and the thrown magazine hit the slot perfectly, sliding into place.
"Da da da!" Countless bullets peppered the ground where Shadow had just sprung from. Shadow leaped high, deftly avoiding the bullet barrage. With a new magazine in place, a sense of calm washed over him. While still in mid-air, without looking down, he continued to shoot, killing three enemies who had charged at him. His body landed heavily, his muscles stabbed by the broken ground beneath, causing spasms to ripple across his face.
