To cover for Luo Zheng, Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle completely disregarded the danger of exposing themselves. Lan Xue continuously fired shots, unhesitatingly sending Incendiary Bombs into the enemy camp, creating chaos and panic. In no ti, the ships lined up in a row caught huge fires, and those hit by Incendiary Bombs cried out in agony as they ran about wildly in a horrific scene. The heavy machine gunners were also sniped one by one by Mountain Eagle. As Mountain Eagle reloaded, the bloody carnage further panicked Turul's n.
After tumbling into the riverbed, Luo Zheng swiftly swam towards the speedboat, keenly aware that Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle could only create havoc for a short ti. Once Turul's n reacted, the situation would turn. He didn't have much ti and needed to seize the speedboat and escape from the scene as soon as possible.
Several ters didn't seem too far for Luo Zheng, who had trained rigorously in the sea. He quickly covered the distance, suddenly feeling countless bullets sweeping across the river bottom. Knowing Turul's n had reacted, he swiftly moved under the speedboat for cover. Once steady, he suddenly burst out from one side; seeing the people on the speedboat in complete disarray, he didn't hesitate for a second, threw them over into the river, and climbed aboard the speedboat, flipping his body on top of it.
Ti was of the essence, and Luo Zheng didn't even dare to delay long enough to catch his breath. Quickly moving to the back, he pulled the rope fiercely, and the speedboat's motor started. Luo Zheng, lying on the speedboat, didn't dare take a glance back as he steered the speedboat towards the predetermined direction at full throttle.
The suddenly departing speedboat quickly drew the attention of those around, and without waiting for orders, they turned their guns and opened fire. Fortunately, the speedboat had already picked up speed, making it difficult for them to hit their target, and seeing Luo Zheng retreat, Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle's spirits were bolstered as they shot quickly, providing cover fire to buy ti for Luo Zheng.
With this, the pressure on Luo Zheng wasn't too great. Clutching the throttle, he charged wildly ahead, with the speedboat roaring like a Fierce Beast on the river's surface, aided by the waves that sotis sent it flying. Luo Zheng quickly sat up, curled into a ball, and looked back only to see many of Turul's ships ablaze, a large number of speedboats pursuing, and so others rushing towards the mountain top where Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle were hiding.
"Retreat quickly, I'll et up with you," Luo Zheng shouted into his headset.
"Where will we et up?" Lan Xue called back anxiously.
"Don't worry about , get out of here first. I can find you," Luo Zheng yelled, seeing the enemy closing in, he quickly ended the call, grabbed the steering rod with both hands, and made a mad dash, letting the wind whip his clothes wildly, his gaze stony and focused on the waterway ahead, deciding whether or not to change direction and pilot the so as to zigzag in a Bullet Avoidance Steps fashion to dodge the bullets chasing him from behind.
In the high-speed pursuit, he suddenly saw a steel ship ahead. On the deck, a shirtless, muscular man loudly controlled a heavy machine gun with ferocious montum, aiming at him. Luo Zheng was shocked and quickly ducked to avoid the fire, steering the speedboat to bypass it from the side.
"Ratatatat!" The heavy machine gun roared to life, its fearso bullets seemingly set to shatter the entire space, emitting a spine-chilling, piercing shriek as they bore down like ghostly howls and wolfish wails.
Luo Zheng was horrified and quickly lay down flat on the speedboat, clinging tightly to it, gripping the throttle with one hand and steering the speedboat. Bullets hit the speedboat, making a clanging noise, sparks flying, and bullets ricocheting everywhere. Luo Zheng knew this wasn't sustainable; if he wasn't shot to death, he would get injured by stray bullets. With a roll, he moved to the side of the speedboat and tightly grabbed the ropes, letting the speedboat drag him forward.
With the speedboat's cover, Luo Zheng wasn't hit by the heavy machine gun bullets. Before he could even catch his breath, dense gunfire followed from behind. The powerful current battered his body, preventing any chance of turning back. Luo Zheng clenched his teeth and held on, the veins in his arms bulging as he dared not let go.
"Tat tat tat!" The heavy machine gun, moving with the speedboat, showed no signs of stopping. Bullets rained down like a violent storm, battering the boat beyond recognition. The motor was hit and started to emit black smoke. Luo Zheng was horrified, realizing the situation was hopeless. He frantically looked at both banks of the river, quickly determined a direction, then let go, plunging to the river bottom as the speedboat continued surging forward.
After falling into the water, Luo Zheng desperately dived to the bottom. Bullets weren't a joke—they could easily penetrate the water and kill him. Furthermore, bullets would change direction when entering the water, moving unpredictably, which made them impossible to dodge. A large number of pursuers were closing in, the speedboat began to slow down, and the pursuers fired aimlessly into the riverbed.
Luo Zheng's plunge was so sudden, no one could pinpoint his exact entry point into the water; they could only guess the general area. However, these experienced pursuers ford a circular enclosure as soon as the speedboat stopped, surrounding the area where Luo Zheng had entered and began to fire wildly into it.
At the bottom of the river, Luo Zheng didn't stop but instead held a rock and took big strides in the predetermined direction. The river was too deep, the buoyancy too strong; holding a rock was the best way to cross, without worries about buoyancy, focusing solely on moving forward. Having trained hard in the sea, Luo Zheng had this basic survival knowledge.
Soon, Luo Zheng felt the bullets raining down, dense as rain. Fortunately, he was still so distance away, so he hurriedly increased his speed. Four minutes later, feeling a choke hold on his breath and his body reaching its limit, he had to let go of the rock and ascend for air. Otherwise, he wouldn't be shot dead; he would suffocate. The river was too wide to cross in one go; he had to breathe.
As he ascended, Luo Zheng saw a large ship above and couldn't help feeling overjoyed. He swam desperately toward the underside of the ship. The pursuers on the ship hadn't expected Luo Zheng to be so fast, and were still furiously firing toward the front and occasionally throwing grenades into the water, causing huge plus of water to rise.
Luo Zheng felt like his lungs were about to burst, his consciousness starting to scatter. His swimming pace slowed. He bit his tongue fiercely to refocus his attention, quickly reached under the ship, and cautiously surfaced, not daring to take deep breaths as that could draw attention. He endured his lungs' craving for fresh air and breathed slowly.
After taking a few deep breaths, Luo Zheng felt much better. Glancing at the fierce enemy gunfire, he snickered. When he felt sowhat recovered, he took a deep breath and took a dive, plunging back into the river depths. Having escaped the firing range, he didn't need to sink to the riverbed and hold a rock this ti. Instead, he dove about two ters underwater and feverishly swam forward, agile as a fish. In this life or death mont, Luo Zheng unleashed his potential, his speed rivaling that of a world champion.
Luo Zheng swam up to the surface within five ters of the river bank to catch his breath, floating face-up. This allowed him to breathe fresh air while minimizing exposure. Seeing the pursuers expand their search area, he knew he couldn't wait any longer. He took a deep breath and dove back down to the bottom.
