Combat was all about suppression and counter-suppression, a contest of who was more ruthless. As long as he held the hostages, Luo Zheng wasn't afraid of the other party getting tough. The tour group wouldn't evacuate the safety zone, and he absolutely couldn't hand over the hostages. Of course, Luo Zheng also knew he couldn't drag this out too long. Once Turul lost his patience, he would launch a strong attack, and by then, Luo Zheng would still be at a disadvantage. His gaze involuntarily shifted to the two n behind Turul, one tall and one short; the short one indeed had a ren dan beard, looking sowhat familiar. He was shocked and observed carefully. A sudden realization ca to him, and his face turned cold as he said coldly, "I didn't expect it was you guys causing trouble behind the scenes. You want to capture , right? Well, here I am. Dare to shoot?"
"This ti, you are undoubtedly going to die," the taller one said coldly, his expression calm but his eyes full of rage as he looked at Luo Zheng.
"Is that so? Since that's the case, I want to know why, seeing as we have no previous grievances, you are so intent on eradicating ?" Luo Zheng spoke coldly, his eyes casually glancing at the short man as he scoffed, "Shorty, you're a little devil, aren't you?"
"Damn it!" the short one roared coldly.
"All show, no substance. A true warrior doesn't wear his anger on his face. You still have a long way to go, or are you deliberately using your temper to confuse ?" Luo Zheng scoffed disdainfully, looking at the taller man who seed lost in thought, he smiled, using this as an opportunity to buy ti, and continued, "You're paid to kill , and I understand that. My resistance in killing you all also makes sense; it's not about enmity, just a matter of standpoints. But the look on your face tells there's hatred between us. Tell , where does this hatred co from?"
"When you're dead, I'll tell you," the other party said coldly.
"People have already left the safe zone. Ghost, think of a way to escape quickly. Mountain Eagle, prepare the incendiary bomb for attack," Lan Xue's voice suddenly sounded in the headset.
Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, looked at Turul, and said coldly, "I will hand over the people to you, but provide with a speedboat. If you catch up and kill , it's my bad luck. If you can't catch up and let escape, it's my good fortune. How does that sound?"
"No, if you don't hand over the people within three minutes, we'll tear our faces off. Your people won't get very far, my speedboats are fast enough to catch up. Stop trying to buy ti. This is my bottom line," Turul imdiately denied, not wanting to fall for Luo Zheng's trick again having already been deceived once.
"Is that so? Then let's wait," Luo Zheng said indifferently with a cold laugh, but his mind was urgently searching for a strategy to distract this group of people. His eyes unconsciously looked towards a speedboat not more than a few ters away, manned by just one person, sparking an idea.
"Hand over the people quickly; you have one minute left," Turul commanded coldly, pulling the bolt of his gun, tension tight as a stretched bow, a great battle imminent, everyone's hearts were in their throats.
Luo Zheng really wanted to pull the rope in his hand, detonating the grenades on the hostages, and if these two were blown up, it would an a total fallout with Turul, no turning back. Turul would definitely pursue him in anger. This way, the tour group in the other direction would face much less pressure. But when he saw the old lady, his heart softened. He could kill Balang, but the old lady was innocent.
"Forget it, if I am going to die, I might as well go down fighting," Luo Zheng gritted his teeth, made a quick decision, and whispered through the headset, "Xue Er, find a way to snipe Turul and create chaos, Mountain Eagle, you take the machine gunner. When you see jump into the river, take action."
"Understood," the two responded in unison, their voices low.
After Luo Zheng had arranged everything, he gestured for Balang to pick up the unconscious elder. When Turul saw this, he quickly raised his hand to signal everyone not to shoot and moved forward, but a tall man beside him held him back, reminding Turul to be wary of the sniper. Turul wasn't foolish; he instantly retreated, his eyes fixed on Luo Zheng, fearing Luo Zheng might pull a trick from behind. Whether it was an elder or a successor, neither could be hard in Turul's eyes.
"Tell your people hidden around to ensure my family's safety before they act, otherwise, we can no longer be friends. Do whatever you want afterward; I won't stop you and will even support you fully," Turul instructed coldly.
The two understood Turul's feelings and subtly signaled each other that killing Luo Zheng was important, but there was no need to rush. In this tropical rainforest, everyone was confident they could handle it, especially since the opponent was under their guns. Offending Turul could complicate many things later, a loss not worth the risk.
Unaware of these turns, Luo Zheng took advantage of everyone's distraction caused by Balang standing up and issued the attack command. He then rolled off the boat and swiftly swam towards the speedboat.
"Swoosh, swoosh!" Almost simultaneously, two sniper rifle shots rang out. The impatient Lan Xue and Mountain Eagle had taken their shots. One bullet was fired at Turul who, true to his reputation as a dominant warlord, sensed trouble the mont he saw Luo Zheng roll toward the riverbank. He explosively retreated, narrowly avoiding the lethal shot, as the bullet barely missed Turul's chest and hit another man's heart, instantly igniting him and eliciting a horrifying scream.
Another sniper bullet viciously penetrated a machine gunner's head, exploding it instantly, creating a grueso spectacle as blood and brain matter blossod into a macabre flower in the air, and his body was flung aside, the blood splattering eerily. Another terrifying sniper shot sounded.
Turul's n imdiately descended into chaos, diving for cover and shouting loudly. The machine gunner, however, reacted fiercely, quickly pinpointed the sniper's location, and opened fire. Turul quickly checked on his family, relieved to find them unhard. His brows relaxed, and he felt an inexplicable gratitude towards Luo Zheng, but it was soon overwheld by hatred. He raised his gun and moved a few steps towards his subordinate hit by the incendiary bomb, to prevent the fire from spreading. Then, another incendiary bomb ca flying in, hitting another target.
The man scread in agony and fell to the ground, rolling. A fierce gleam shot through Turul's eyes as he fired a rcy shot, ending the man's suffering. Being hit by an incendiary bomb left no chance of survival; the kindest action was to grant a quick death. This act did not evoke disgust among his n; rather, they took unified vengeful aim at a distant target, firing wildly. The sniper had disrupted their judgnt and line of sight, allowing no one to notice Luo Zheng.
"Hit them hard!" Turul bellowed in rage and embarrassnt, urging his n to jump into the river to assist Balang, who, holding his unconscious wife, was unable to reach the shore.
"Damn it, that bastard jumped into the river trying to escape, Sniper, suppress the opposing sniper with firepower, everyone else shoot towards the river," the tall man roared furiously, observing the chaotic scene with an ice-cold expression.
