The second one was the assault man Zhang Bao, followed by Golden Eagle, and He Shan looked at Luo Zheng, who did not hesitate. He had undergone this kind of training before; although not as outstanding as everyone else, there was no problem in proceeding. "Into the woods," Mountain Leopard commanded calmly.
Everyone rushed into the woods and stopped by a few dense trees, their backs against the trees to prevent ambushes from behind. Once on the battlefield, one must always remain calm and vigilant; even a slight negligence could cost lives. No one could guarantee that there wasn't an enemy sniper lurking in the dense forest nearby.
Mountain Leopard took out a military satellite phone, dialed the base, and solemnly said, after getting through, "Guests are in place, can we start on ti?"
"All clear, start on ti. Eat well, drink well, co back early," the squadron leader said calmly.
"All right." Mountain Leopard ended the call, turned on the GPS, spread out the map, and said, "Turn on bluetooth earpieces, check equipnt again, ready to move out."
"Yes." Everyone quickly checked their earpieces and weapons, all were normal. They nodded to Mountain Leopard, who also checked his own before pointing at the map and saying, "We have to cover thirty kiloters from here, we must reach the designated position before 12 noon, move out!"
The reason for landing earlier was to avoid being detected by soone observing their transport helicopter, raising suspicion. "Jin Xin?" Mountain Leopard called out.
"It should be here. The coordinates are correct. There's a path below. Intelligence indicates this path existed for years, mainly used for border smuggling. To the west is the neighboring country, and fifty li to the east, there is a village. Drugs are sent there for transitional trade. The village is populated by a minority group, very xenophobic; strangers can't get in," Jin Xin whispered.
"If that's correct, let's get ready," Mountain Leopard promptly said. "Duke of Thunder, deploy trap mines; Golden Eagle, scout ten kiloters west along the path; Mountain Leopard, ambush ahead on the path and use firepower to prevent traffickers from fleeing into our country; we'll encircle them. Zhengzi, where will you set up your sniper position?"
"Right here. The view is unobstructed, and I can completely cover the whole path without blind spots," Luo Zheng replied.
"Good, be careful. We will set up an ambush on the southern slope and wait for my gunshot before acting," Mountain Leopard instructed, picking up his weapon and heading down the ridge, quickly disappearing into the woods.
Five people against a hundred ard drug traffickers, Mountain Leopard brazenly adopted an encirclent strategy. "Mountain Leopard is in charge of the east, I will take the north, later Golden Eagle handles the west to block their withdrawal path, and Duke of Thunder, you go to the southern forest to prevent them from escaping southwards. Everyone rember, aim and shoot. With around a hundred people to contend with, each of us handles less than twenty. With our rate of fire, the battle will end in minutes. Are we confident?" Mountain Leopard said quietly but coolly.
"Piece of cake," everyone responded.
Seeing Mountain Leopard arrange Duke of Thunder on the south side was clearly out of concern that he couldn't hold it alone. Luo Zheng thought it over, realizing he needed to provide more firepower. He indeed couldn't estimate much. If the enemy fled south, it would indeed be problematic, so he raised no objections and patiently waited.
The surroundings soon beca quiet, only the rustling of tree leaves blown by the wind and occasional birdcalls could be heard. Luo Zheng had a wild grass in his mouth, adjusting his state with the family Breathing Skill, and soon blended into the environnt around him. After a while, a feeling of unease surfaced in his mind, catching Luo Zheng off guard and making him vigilantly scan the area. Everything seed normal. Golden Eagle, responsible for scouting, hadn't returned yet, which made Luo Zheng express his concern in a low voice, "Guys, I've got a bad feeling here. Am I the only one?"
"Did you find anything?" Mountain Leopard asked through the earpiece.
"No, just feeling uneasy," Luo Zheng replied honestly to avoid affecting everyone's judgnt.
"Could it be nerves?" Mountain Leopard asked with concern.
"Maybe." Luo Zheng wasn't sure, as it was his first mission of this kind. Last ti when he had chased down mbers of the Wild Wolf rcenary Group, everything was led by Lan Xue, his mind consud with hatred, pursuing and killing his enemy without considering much else. His mindset was different now, and so were his feelings.
"Captain, could there really be sothing off? People say newcors tend to be either very intuitive or not at all," Mountain Leopard joked lightly, hinting that he too didn't believe Luo Zheng's gut feeling.
"Let's not talk. Stay alert," Mountain Leopard advised.
With the arrow nocked, they couldn't back out now. Having co this far, it wasn't possible just to return; Luo Zheng adjusted his state and carefully scanned the surrounding woods, sensing the source of danger. Unfortunately, he detected nothing, muttering to himself, "If Lan Xue were here, she would definitely know where the danger is coming from. What would she do in this situation?"
Thinking this, Luo Zheng rembered the anti-sniper skills Lan Xue had taught him, visualizing himself as the enemy, and assuming exposure, what would the enemy do? Send a sniper? With this thought, Luo Zheng imdiately began examining several high points suitable for sniping and realized, with sudden clarity, that his own position was the best vantage point.
