The torrential rain continued, showing no sign of stopping, rainwater was streaming down everywhere from the mountain peak, lightning occasionally tore through the night sky, illuminating the earth, and thunder pounded, striking Luo Zheng's heart. Luo Zheng's unease grew stronger, filled with worry for Lan Xue. Unfortunately, the satellite phone had been taken by Lan Xue's group, making contact impossible.
At that mont, Shusheng hurried over with his n and saluted before saying, "Captain, no other exits were found. However, the brothers are still checking. Do you need a hand here?" He glanced at the n shooting towards the bottom of the cliff, not understanding why they didn't just go down and collapse the cave with grenades?
"Continue the search, we can't be careless," Luo Zheng said sternly.
Seeing Luo Zheng with a heavy heart, Shusheng didn't dare to ask further. He was about to leave when suddenly, a soldier in charge of shooting those erging from the cave shouted, "Report, a white flag is being extended from inside, they probably want to surrender."
"What?" Luo Zheng was startled, temporarily suppressing his unease, and quickly went to the edge of the cliff to look down. Sure enough, he saw a white cloth tied to a stick being extended from the cave. Soone shouted loudly, "Stop shooting, we surrender, please spare our lives?"
"Surrender?" Luo Zheng was shocked, looking towards Shusheng, who was also bewildered, shaking his head. Turul's n were just hiding in the cave, they weren't yet at a point of desperation. There was no need for them to surrender, what was this about? Luo Zheng yelled angrily, "You have nowhere to go. Why should I accept your surrender?"
A frantic voice shouted, "We will hand over General Turul and Lieutenant General to you, please spare our lives. If you do not agree, we will fight to the death."
"What?" Luo Zheng looked at Shusheng in surprise. Shusheng's face lit up with joy, whispering, "They must have realized the end is near, they're fighting among themselves. We can't accept their surrender, they are trapped in a jar. We have plenty of bullets; no matter how many co out, it won't be enough for us to kill."
Luo Zheng knew Shusheng was right. The river was flooding, the water drowning the valley, and Turul's n couldn't escape via the road, trapped completely inside the cave. As long as they guarded the cave entrance, they could catch everyone in one fell swoop, completely annihilating this ard warlord group. However, Luo Zheng was worried about Lan Xue, and he pondered deeply.
After a while, the people at the cave entrance continued to beg for rcy. Shusheng looked at Luo Zheng, who after thinking it over said, "If we refuse to surrender, they only need to stay in the cave. Finishing off Turul and Balang was enough; there was no need to wipe them all out. After making up his mind, Luo Zheng shouted loudly, "Hand over Turul and Balang, and I'll spare your lives. No tricks, or I'll show no rcy."
Everyone was on alert, the strong light from the tactical flashlights illuminating the cave entrance. In a short while, two people were pushed out, indeed Turul and Balang, tied up, with rags gagging their mouths, mumbling sothing. After Luo Zheng verified their identities, he bellowed, "Let Turul speak."
People in the cave hesitated to co out, fearing that Luo Zheng and his group might open fire. Swiftly, soone pulled the rotten cloth from Turul's mouth and retreated quickly. Turul took deep breaths and cursed angrily, though Luo Zheng did not hear him. He mocked with a cold smile, "General Turul, who would have thought you would have such a day?"
Turul did not imdiately reply to Luo Zheng's words, but continued to curse angrily. Perhaps tired from cursing and realizing his fate, he beca despondent. Looking up at Luo Zheng on the cliff, he shouted, "Don't be so proud, I'm not dying by your hands, and you have no honor in this victory."
"It doesn't matter, as long as you are dead," Luo Zheng shrugged and responded with a cold laugh.
Turul, taken aback by Luo Zheng's words, did not know what to say. Seeing his son's panicked expression, he cried out miserably, "Had I known this would happen, I would never have dared to start this. Co on, give a quick end."
"I'm curious, why did you resort to kidnapping?" Luo Zheng asked coldly.
"For money, of course. With a big family, how else to support them? I didn't expect all of them to be ungrateful wolves. In tis of crisis, they forget that I risked everything for these bastards. Enough of this useless chatter, just end it quickly. Dying on the battlefield is worth it."
"Who gave you the money?" Luo Zheng pressed on.
"Japan, of course. I know what you want to ask. Let just tell you, it was Japan supporting from behind. Otherwise, how could I have guns and cannons, and dominate an area? Recently, Japan visited and asked to kidnap. The cooperation was already very close, and I couldn't refuse. As for the assassins, they were hired instructors. If paid, they agreed to join. Anything else you want to ask? If not, open fire," Turul roared, ready to et his end.
Luo Zheng gave a knowing look to Yi Jing, who understood and shouted, "Open fire."
Everyone opened fire, and a local warlord died like that during a stormy night, killed by his own people. This local ard force was rely a group brought together by interests, lacking faith and loyalty. When individual interests were threatened and difficult to reverse, sacrificing others was understandably within reason.
With the deaths of Turul and Balang, Luo Zheng was eager to return ho. Their looks were sharp, and the days of fighting and killing had transford everyone significantly, turning them into outstanding iron-blooded soldiers.
"Brothers, our mission is complete. The remaining bandits are not worth worrying about anymore. This is neighboring territory, and maintaining public order and protecting the people are not up to us, the outsiders. Now, I will lead you through the night, and we're going ho," Luo Zheng declared satisfiedly as he looked at everyone.
"Going ho!" Everyone roared in unison, excitent coloring their faces. Being able to return alive was indeed wonderful.
