Luo Zheng witnessed this scene and laughed. With the leader taken out in one fell swoop, the pursuers were disorganized, effectively useless. At that mont, explosions thundered continuously, shaking the dark forest. Countless birds, startled from their sleep, scrambled into the night sky with terrified cries.

Then, the deadly gunfire followed suit. Bullets whistled out from the surrounding woods, like hungry wolves, knocking down targets, ruthlessly devouring their lives. The explosions and precise shooting completely bewildered the pursuers. Without their leader's command, they lost their formations and began to run around chaotically.

With the enemy's morale gone, they were like lambs to the slaughter. Seizing such a golden opportunity, everyone surged forward, attacking rcilessly. Everyone was smart, targeting those with torches first. Enemies who couldn't be seen were even easier targets, ripe for the slaughter. Embracing his rage, Luo Zheng also charged forward, continuously firing at every visible enemy, directing all his fury onto this group of pursuers.

This was a lopsided battle. Once the pursuers were thrown into disarray, they could barely organize any resistance. A few braver individuals were swiftly eliminated by precise shooting. Once the torches were extinguished, the pursuers were blind and left utterly incapable of counterattacking, while everyone wore Night Vision Devices and faced no such issue.

Luo Zheng made his way to the campfire and saw the ground littered with the bodies of pursuers, torn limbs and flesh everywhere, the ground soaked with blood. As gunshots dwindled in the surroundings, he breathed a sigh of relief. His cold eyes swept over the dark forest around him, and a chilly smile crossed his indifferent face as he said to the approaching Shi Qingshan, "Clean up the battlefield and evacuate imdiately, in case more pursuers arrive."

"Yes." Shi Qingshan hadn't expected the mines Luo Zheng had ordered would be so powerful. The ability to grasp the enemy's psychology was terrifying. It was lucky to have him as an ally—let the enemy worry about it. Puffing up his chest, he imdiately agreed, his gaze toward Luo Zheng filled with deep respect.

The battle ended swiftly. Everyone cleaned the battlefield, taking all useful items with them: weapons, ammunition, dry food, and more. With no support from the rear, they had to sustain themselves by what they could capture from battles. Ten minutes later, the team aligned in two rows and followed Luo Zheng as they circled back in the direction of Kuntai Group.

After the recent battle, the team's morale soared. Everyone felt confident, no longer worried about Kuntai's nearly ten thousand ard forces. With proper tactics, victory was not impossible. Everyone had full confidence in Luo Zheng and had wholly accepted his command.

On the march, Luo Zheng didn't dwell on the recent combat. This level of skirmish was nothing new for him. Although the militants were nurous, their lack of training and outdated tactics ant they were no different from a mob. With proper tactics, defeating them was entirely possible. His mind was filled with worry for Lan Xue, the strange dream he had only adding to his anxiety about her condition.

Unknowingly, dawn broke. The team stopped at a mountain ridge to rest. Luo Zheng looked out at the endlessly undulating green mountains ahead, unable to see the edge. The sky looked overcast, suggesting impending rain, and the wind was picking up. They needed to hurry to reach the rendezvous point on ti.

After eating so dry food, they continued their rapid march. They encountered no pursuers along the way and traveled smoothly. Two days later, ten minutes before midnight, they reached the agreed location. Luo Zheng signaled everyone to hide and wait nearby while he walked alone towards the waterfall.

The waterfall was not large. The area around the pool was scattered with rocks, appearing very clean. Moonlight poured over the water, reflecting gentle and beautiful ripples. A breeze rustled through the surrounding trees, creating a soft rustling sound. Luo Zheng stood on a rock with his hands behind his back, quietly watching the moonlight, his heart full of worries.

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh," footstep sounds approached, and Luo Zheng instantly beca alert, his body tensed, as he turned around to look in the direction of the sounds. He saw a person in a white dress approaching gracefully, her long hair fluttering and her steps light. Luo Zheng was startled, not expecting a woman, and stood still, quietly observing her without taking any action. He would not initiate conversation until he confird her identity, to avoid exposure.

The woman in the white dress ca closer and blurted out a few sentences in an incomprehensible language, seeing that Luo Zheng remained unmoved, she imdiately switched to Huaxia language and said, "Who are you?"

"Pangolin," Luo Zheng replied indifferently.

The woman tensed up, then quickly approached with joy, her face filled with shock as she asked Luo Zheng, "Was the explosion a few days ago your doing?"

"Mhm," Luo Zheng nodded noncommittally, curiously observing the woman. By the moonlight, Luo Zheng discerned she was likely around thirty, with a lon-seeded face that radiated a mature beauty and a voluptuous figure. He couldn't help but ask, "I didn't expect you to be a woman; why do you use this code na?"

"This code na was my husband's," she explained, her expression turning somber.

Luo Zheng could see the pain in her eyes when she spoke these words, indicating there was a story there. He decided not to inquire further to avoid saddening her. He jumped off the rock and asked, "I want to know whether Lan Xue has been captured by Kuntai's people? Where is she held?"

"I'm not sure, I haven't heard anything about it," she said assuredly. Seeing Luo Zheng's skepticism, she gave a bitter smile and explained, "You might not know, but I'm a 'dead operative.' I'm not activated until the very last mont. Kuntai killed my husband, and to seek revenge, I volunteered to go undercover. I once said that unless I was absolutely sure I could kill Kuntai, I would never expose myself. They told you had bombed Kuntai's mountain hideout and had the capability to kill him. They also ntioned your situation with Lan Xue. I'm soone who has gone through that pain, so I agreed to their plan, hoping you wouldn't disappoint ."

"What should I call you?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise, respect gleaming in his eyes for the woman willing to brave dangers for revenge on behalf of her deceased husband.

"My husband was in the Intelligence Team, and I'm a border Ard Police detective, currently replacing 'Pangolin' to continue my undercover mission in the Kuntai Group. I'm not yet part of the Intelligence Team, so you can call Pangolin," she said, looking around cautiously and lowering her voice.

"Good, we share the sa enemy," Luo Zheng said gravely.

"On the night of the explosion, Kuntai happened not to be there. When he returned, he was furious, deploying many to find you, swearing vengeance. However, your bomb caused him severe losses, internal instability, and chaos among his troops. It's indeed a good opportunity to strike. Tell , what do you need to do?" Pangolin asked with determination, her eyes filled with the anticipation of revenge.
