"Are you the head of security?" Luo Zheng barked coldly, seeing the other party nod in panic, he yelled irritably, "I am a police officer. Go to the control center imdiately and secure the surveillance footage, especially the footage at the entrance. It absolutely must not be leaked. Wait for to handle it, understood?"
"Yes, sir." The security captain quickly agreed, turned around, and ran off in a panic, fearing that Luo Zheng, in a fit of rage, might shoot him. Peace had lasted too long, making everyone forget the ruthlessness of war, becoming overly cautious and timid.
"Bang!" Suddenly, a gunshot rang out. The security captain was shot in the head, and the people around, thinking that Luo Zheng had done it, scread in horror, turned, and ran towards the exit, creating chaos. Luo Zheng, hearing the gunshot, leaped forward and rolled, sharply noticing a person blending into the crowd, facing him with a chilling gaze full of murderous intent.
"Assassin?" Luo Zheng was surprised to see that it was the person who had just shown him to the safe, a wave of fear washing over him at the skilled disguise with not a single flaw showing. With no ti to think further, Luo Zheng saw the assassin shoot the security captain and create chaos to escape. He quickly got up and dashed out, shouting, "Get down, everyone get down!"
The surrounding citizens, mistaking Luo Zheng for the gunman, did not lie down but instead ran out even faster. Fortunately, the door was quick and not too crowded, preventing congestion and stampedes. Annoyed, Luo Zheng charged forward, seeing the assassin had already dashed out the main door and was running down the steps amidst the panicked citizens.
"Damn it." Luo Zheng was furious. These people were too arrogant to shoot in broad daylight with no regard for the law. They must be severely punished. He rushed out the door, chasing after the assassin, who had made his way toward a parking lot on the side and quickly aid and shot.
The assassin, as if having eyes at the back of his head, dodged left and right, managing to avoid Luo Zheng's shots. He darted like lightning across the street, agile as a monkey, slipping through a car window into a minivan. The sequence of movents was fluid and expert, fast like a startled swan, and the minivan, seemingly ready, accelerated away from the scene with a beautiful drift and was gone.
"Huh?" Luo Zheng, confident in his shooting skills, had not expected to miss at such close range against such a skilled opponent. His anger intensified, he charged into the lower parking lot just as soone was opening their car door. Luo Zheng ran up and shouted, "I am Shi Feng from the city bureau's major case squad. I need to borrow your car. You can reclaim it at the city bureau later."
The person, flustered upon seeing Luo Zheng and hearing his full na without malice, half-believed him but was more afraid that Luo Zheng would shoot in anger and hurriedly moved aside. Luo Zheng jumped into the car, started it, and roared out of the parking lot onto the main road to chase after them. These people had openly attempted assassination and must be eliminated to avoid endless threats to himself.
Luo Zheng floored the gas pedal, watching the road ahead with a cold gaze, skilfully steering the wheel while pulling out his phone. He hardly had the chance to dial when he caught up with a car ahead. Luo Zheng quickly swerved to avoid a rear-end collision, then put away the phone and focused on driving.
The assassin, too, was no slouch; his driving skills were highly sophisticated, and he sped off swiftly. Luo Zheng clenched his teeth and pressed on, continually leaving other cars behind. His gaze, cold and relentless, fixed on the minivan that was getting closer. His anger rose like a torrent, vaguely sensing this incident was connected to the Reincarnation Killer Organization. His murderous intent grew. These assassins, he had not troubled them, yet they had dared to co after him, hmph.
Soon, the piercing alarm sounded, and the loudspeaker scread for Luo Zheng to stop the car. Luo Zheng ignored it, his face cold as he continued to speed forward, overtaking cars incessantly. Soon, Luo Zheng saw in the rearview mirror an SUV roaring towards him, flashing a police badge, moving agilely on the highway like a swift fish, quickly closing the distance between them.
Luo Zheng did not know who was pursuing him and did not pay it any mind, continuing his mad dash forward, constantly overtaking other vehicles, his hands firmly gripping the steering wheel. His speed had surpassed 130 miles per hour, which was extrely dangerous on the city roads. He could crash or roll over at any mont, but Luo Zheng was too focused to care, his eyes fixed on the assassin ahead as the tires screeched against the pavent.
In the midst of the high-speed chase, Luo Zheng faintly sensed danger and grew anxious. He quickly checked his rearview mirror, but nothing seed out of place. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a gun aiming at him. The dark muzzle emitted the aura of Death God, startling him. Upon a closer look, the SUV police car had caught up, and it was driven by Shi Feng, the chief of the major cris unit, holding the gun with one hand, aiming at him.
After recognizing Luo Zheng, Shi Feng swiftly put down his weapon, and shouted awkwardly, "What's going on?"
Luo Zheng made a chasing gesture and a throat-slitting motion. Shi Feng, understanding the situation, nodded. He imdiately grabbed the walkie-talkie to call for reinforcents, pursuing relentlessly. Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief. With Shi Feng present, at least there was no need to worry about the police misinterpreting the situation. He pressed the accelerator all the way, not letting up, his focus utterly concentrated.
After receiving Shi Feng's call, the command center acted swiftly, turning all the traffic lights red, and all the cars on the road stopped. This blockage threw the killers into a frenzy as they drove their comrcial vehicle madly, toppling over three cars before realizing they could not break through. Left with no option, they abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot. Luo Zheng noticed that the person helping the assassin escape was actually a woman.
The woman, seemingly around thirty and dressed in sportswear with blonde hair, was a foreigner, moving very agilely and rapidly. Luo Zheng drove towards her, braked sharply, and leapt out of the car. Shi Feng also drove up and got out, his face filled with surprise as he looked over. Luo Zheng, without ti for explanations, shouted loudly, "It's the assassin, ard! I'll explain later, catch them, dead or alive!" With that, he rushed forward.
This was the capital, Beijing, his own territory. Luo Zheng was not the slightest bit worried that they could get away. He chased after them relentlessly, noting that the opposing side wasn't shooting, he refrained from shooting too, intending to capture them alive. Two hundred ters later, it was clear the blonde woman couldn't keep up. The assassin, unwilling to leave her behind, pulled her along as they ran. This slowed them down considerably, quickly nullifying their earlier lead.
"Encircle them, block them, try to capture them alive," Luo Zheng bellowed.
"Understood," Shi Feng replied without hesitation, energetically pursuing. As the chief of the major cris unit, Shi Feng was exceptionally capable in apprehensions, knowing exactly how to block escape routes. He acknowledged the order and sprinted forward, anwhile coordinating reinforcents through his walkie-talkie to co and assist.
