The assassin was involved in a high-profile case; guns were fired in broad daylight, witnessed by many citizens, marking it a significant incident. Shi Feng was acutely aware of the case's importance and its detrintal impact. If he failed to apprehend the assassins, he would be held accountable. However, he realized they were fleeing too fast for him to catch up with his capabilities. Fortunately, Luo Zheng was quick enough to keep pace with the fleeing suspects. Shi Feng imdiately used his walkie-talkie to coordinate the dispatch of troops to surround them.
Seeing Luo Zheng's speed and realizing he was about to be caught as he couldn't run away, the assassin's eyes flashed with intense murderous intent. Spotting a bus parked nearby, he made a fierce decision, gripped his pistol, and rushed onto the bus, signaling the driver to open the door. The driver, having never seen such a scene before, was scared stiff. The assassin, growing impatient, shot the door open and forcefully pried it open. He then dragged a blonde woman onto the bus.
The passengers inside the bus scread and retreated in fear. At that mont, the flustered driver randomly pressed buttons and accidentally opened the rear door. Panicked passengers rushed towards the exit like mad. The blonde woman's face turned cold; she dashed off the bus and opened fire, killing several passengers on the spot. This terrified the rest, who turned tail and didn't dare to leave the bus.
While the blonde woman was controlling the rear door, the assassin fired at the approaching Luo Zheng and Shi Feng. Fortunately, both of them reacted quickly. Luo Zheng took cover behind a nearby trash bin and returned fire. Shi Feng was shocked and was about to warn Luo Zheng not to shoot recklessly to avoid injuring the innocent. But on second thought, considering Luo Zheng's special status and privileges, and knowing he was not under his command, he realized it was pointless to say anything and swallowed his words.
The assassin hadn't expected Luo Zheng to be so bold as to fire under these circumstances, without fear of harming bystanders, which was illogical and incredibly frustrating. Breathing heavily, the assassin crouched down and continued to fire. The people on the bus started screaming, ducking, or lying flat, too scared to move.
The blonde woman, taking cover at the bus's rear door, aid and fired, but Shi Feng spotted her and decisively shot back, driving her back inside. Taking advantage of the mont, Shi Feng moved around to flank her. The assassin, finally reacting, aid his gun at the driver and signaled him to close the door. The driver, not daring to resist, hurriedly complied.
While the rear door was secured, the front door, damaged by the assassin's earlier gunfire, wouldn't close. The driver was sweating profusely, his face pale with fear that the assassin might shoot. The assassin gave the driver a cold look, forcefully maneuvered the bus door, and it surprisingly shut, relieving the assassin. With more than a dozen hostages in hand, there was a chance of escape. Signaling the blonde woman not to shoot, the assassin then shouted out to Luo Zheng, "Stop shooting, or I'll start killing hostages!" He spoke in fluent Huaxia.
Luo Zheng ceased firing, not because he was concerned about the hostages—having taken hostages, the assassin surely wouldn't be so foolish as to kill them—but because he saw no opportunity to break through. He decided to wait and see what would happen, while gesturing to Shi Feng, he yelled, "If you think you're capable, co out and face one-on-one. I'll give you a dignified death. You've already exposed yourself, the police are on their way, don't expect your accomplices to co save you."
"I don't know what you're talking about. Listen, in five minutes, I want a helicopter fully fueled and ready for . No pursuit allowed, or don't bla for not being courteous," the assassin demanded coldly. A helicopter would undoubtedly be the best choice for escape amidst traffic congestion.
"You think you can still get away?" Luo Zheng laughed coldly, calmly observing the bus not far ahead, which was eerily quiet without a single person visible. Behind him, the piercing sound of police sirens grew loud as many police cars and a large number of officers on foot arrived on the scene.
Shi Feng instructed everyone to seek cover at a greater distance and cautiously moved to a decorative tree close to Luo Zheng, his face ashen as he asked, "What do we do?"
Luo Zheng pondered briefly and shouted, "Imdiately arrange for soone with good gun skills to provide covering fire, a sniper would be best. Anyone who dares to show their face should be shot on the spot, I'm going up."
"What? No, if anyone should go, it should be ." As the head of the serious cri unit, Shi Feng tended to rush forward and habitually shouted, only to find that Luo Zheng was already bent over and rushing forward quickly. Shi Feng was shocked and flanked the other side to form a pincer attack with Luo Zheng.
The assassin hiding inside the vehicle quickly noticed Luo Zheng approaching and beca furious, hurriedly opening fire and cursing, "Are you fucking kidding ? You call yourself a Law Enforcer, yet you disregard the safety of the hostages. Do you really think I won't dare to kill a hostage?"
The nearby police saw the assassin open fire and beca angry, firing back. The assassin, who had just fired a shot, was suppressed by the police's firepower. Such tactics frustrated the assassin; weren't the police supposed to negotiate and resolve the crisis, putting the rescue of hostages as their top priority? What kind of attack was this that disregarded the safety of the hostages?
The assassin faced Luo Zheng, a military man who didn't play by the rules, and the usual way of dealing with the police was utterly inadequate. His face turned ashen, knowing today was going to be tough. Desperate, he grabbed a hostage in front and held them as a shield, slowly standing up with his gun pointed at the hostage's temple. Just as Luo Zheng reached the vehicle's door, the assassin fired at Luo Zheng who was at the doorway, but Luo Zheng easily dodged and sneered coldly, "Don't count on the hostage. If you have the guts, co out and fight one-on-one. Using a hostage is disgraceful. Even if you escape today, you won't be able to mingle in the assassin's circle anymore."
"Don't threaten , don't push to kill the innocent," the assassin roared viciously, pressing the barrel hard against the temple of the hostage, who began to scream in terror, pale-faced.
"Since you ca to assassinate , you should know my identity and understand . Don't try to test my limits," Luo Zheng said coldly, while keeping an eye on the situation inside, waiting for the right mont.
At that mont, Shi Feng also quietly approached, drawing the attention of the assassin and the blonde woman. Seeing a rare opportunity, Luo Zheng charged forward a few steps, leaped powerfully, grabbed the edge of the bus roof, and agilely rolled onto the top of the bus, continuing his roll, arriving at the front.
"Bang bang bang!" The assassin heard the noise on the roof and realized Luo Zheng had climbed onto it, panicking, he aid at the roof, guessing Luo Zheng's direction and started shooting, frightening the passengers onboard into ducking their heads and screaming.
Luo Zheng, in the midst of rolling, dodged a deadly shot and arrived at the front of the bus. Leaning out his body like a serpent sliding down, from this angle, Luo Zheng could see the blonde woman hiding by the rear door through the window. His tiger-like eyes narrowed, and seizing the rare chance, Luo Zheng quickly raised his gun and aid. He pulled the trigger decisively.
"Bang bang!" Two gunshots rang out, and the bullets carrying Luo Zheng's boundless rage roared out, drawing a terrifying arc accompanied by a buzzing sound as if Death God was sneering. In an instant, the blonde woman's body stiffened. Her face was full of shock as she looked at Luo Zheng, who had suddenly appeared in front of her, then slowly fell to the ground, one bullet in the brow and one in the heart.
