After dealing with the situation on-site, Luo Zheng took a ride in Lan Xue's car to head ho. On the way, Luo Zheng gave the intelligence he had acquired to Lan Xue. After reading it, her face turned pale, and after a mont of contemplation, she dialed Captain Wu Jin's number. She relayed the information in detail over the phone. Captain Wu hadn't expected this intelligence and was overjoyed by it. National Blade and the Reincarnation Killer Organization had been at each other's throats for more than a day or two. With this intelligence, they could take the initiative.
The Reincarnation Killer Organization was formidable, always having an Elite Soldier King-level drunkard leading their operations, sothing Luo Zheng, an Ordinary Soldier King, could not handle on his own. Luo Zheng knew his own limits. His accidental killing of the assassin had more to do with luck than a sign he could handle the Reincarnation Killer Organization on his own. Leaving the matter to Captain Wu Jin was the most appropriate action. His own goal was to divert the assassins and keep his parents safe.
Having been with National Blade for so long, Luo Zheng knew that there were many mysterious and powerful forces in this world. The Wild Wolf rcenary Organization had already caused him enough headaches. If not for so good fortune, he would have been unable to eliminate them, yet the Wild Wolf rcenary Organization was only ranked in the world's top ten. How much stronger were the groups in the top five, not to ntion the top three?
Even though several Reincarnation Killers had died at Luo Zheng's hands, he clearly understood it wasn't because of his own strength, but rather because the enemy underestimated him. Each situation was unique, and he had not used assassination techniques, which he was best at, but rather battlefield tactics. The bank incident was supposed to be an assassination, but Luo Zheng knew well that his own skills didn't match those of the male assassin. His victory was entirely due to the covert use of the Soul Chasing Nails.
Not in a place to be concerned with such high matters, Luo Zheng left the thorny issue to Captain Wu and temporarily put the Reincarnation Organization aside. Since it wasn't sothing he could handle, he left it to those who could. After chatting a bit more about the Reincarnation Killer Organization, the two arrived at his ho without realizing it.
After parking the car, they went upstairs together to the door. Luo Zheng noticed Lan Xue starting to beco uncomfortable and was surprised, asking with curiosity, "What's wrong?"
Lan Xue gave Luo Zheng a look and her cheeks flushed with a coy charm that left Luo Zheng sowhat srized. He heard her say irritably, "It's nothing, just knock on the door."
"Uh?" Luo Zheng gave a sheepish smile and knocked on the door. Soon, his younger sister opened it. Seeing Luo Zheng returning with a breathtakingly beautiful girl, she was astonished. Upon realizing it was Lan Xue, she joyfully exclaid, "Yiya, sister-in-law is here! I almost didn't recognize you. Sister-in-law, you look even more beautiful."
"You're looking more and more beautiful too, little sister," Lan Xue said with a smile, exuding warmth. She had a genuine fondness for the quirky yet sensible young girl.
Seeing that Lan Xue did not correct her as usual but instead accepted the title, his younger sister instantly understood that their relationship had progressed a step further. She couldn't help but laugh joyfully, pulling Lan Xue into the house and leaving Luo Zheng behind as she happily called out, "Dad, Mom, sister-in-law is back! Bring out all the good food and drinks."
"You girl, always so wild, be careful or you won't be able to marry off," Mrs. Luo said, erging from the inner room delighted at the sight of Lan Xue. She was beyond pleased with her.
Luo Zheng trailed behind, feeling a tad gloomy. After closing the door, he saw that Lan Xue's position in the household was much higher than his own. He felt reassured internally and smiled. This warm feeling gave Luo Zheng a sense of profound contentnt.
"Hello, Auntie. Is Uncle not ho?" Lan Xue asked politely. "I feel embarrassed coming empty-handed."
"What's all this fuss about coming ho, child?" Mrs. Luo's voice brimd with joy as she called into the back room, "Old Tiger, co out, your daughter-in-law is back."
Lan Xue's face turned bright red at the affectionate nickna, but her heart was brimming with happiness. To be loved by Luo Zheng's family ant a lot to her. She sat down on the sofa with her little sister, and Luo Zheng joined them. His bottom had barely ward the seat when his sister called out, "Brother, go get the fruit from the kitchen; I just washed it clean."
"Alright," Luo Zheng said, glaring at his sister with feigned annoyance before heading into the kitchen. When he ca out with the fruit, he saw his father coming from the back room and called, "Dad, co and have so fruit with us."
The family sat together in a circle. Luo Zheng watched them chatting about everyday things, feeling a profound sense of fulfillnt. It was a wonderful feeling. After a while, Mrs. Luo shifted the conversation, her gaze warm as she turned to Lan Xue and asked, "Child, when shall we have a al with both families eting each other?"
Lan Xue gave an embarrassed smile and subtly glanced at Luo Zheng. He knew her difficulties and quickly said, "Mom, let's talk about this later. We've got a lot on our plates right now. Let's wait until we get through this busy period."
"That's fine," Mrs. Luo sensed there was sothing off but didn't press further. She smiled and said, "You guys chat, I'll go get dinner ready. By the way, is there anything you don't eat?" She looked at Lan Xue as she spoke.
"No," Lan Xue quickly replied, casting a grateful glance at Luo Zheng. She breathed a sigh of relief, having dodged the question for now. But what about next ti? Such matters had to be confronted eventually. She couldn't keep putting it off forever. She had to find a solution soon, which ant she would have to visit her grandfather.
After chatting for a bit, the little sister went into the kitchen to help. Luo Hu, with his sharp senses, felt Lan Xue becoming sowhat uneasy, though he wasn't sure why. He looked at Luo Zheng and asked, "What about your comrades? Are they available?"
"I'll make a call," Luo Zheng hastily said. He glanced at Lan Xue, who nodded subtly in understanding. Luo Zheng quickly pulled out his phone and called Ghost Hand. Hearing that Luo Zheng's father wanted to have drinks, Ghost Hand imdiately agreed to co within ten minutes. As for the others, they were not in Beijing, so Luo Zheng had no choice but to explain the situation to Luo Hu. Luo Hu had noticed Lan Xue's discomfort and thought more company would liven things up and didn't object, but he made a ntal note to talk to Luo Zheng later for the full story.
While everyone was chatting, Ghost Hand rushed in, accompanied by his sister Gui Fang. Upon entering, Gui Fang enthusiastically greeted everyone and went to help in the kitchen, acting as if she were family. Luo Zheng figured Gui Fang must co over often and smiled at the thought; having more people around was good so his parents wouldn't get bored.
"Bro, brought so good wine, all bribes to my mom, where should I put this?" Ghost Hand asked, holding a cardboard box. Luo Zheng quickly went over to help, gesturing to the side as he asked, "What kind of good stuff is it? There's not even a label."
"Don't you know? The real treasures are always hidden, people are afraid others might see it. So even pour fine wine into mineral water bottles and put them on the table claiming it's water, doesn't violate any rules, right? It's an unspoken understanding," Ghost Hand explained with the air of soone who's seen it all.
