No matter how impregnable a fortress, there's always a flaw; it's all about whether you can spot it. The closed prison, transford from an abandoned aircraft carrier was very sturdy, but even sturdy prisons need ventilation, right? How was this problem solved? The only solution was to create ventilation openings. These openings were not on the platform but on the sides. Proving Luo Zheng's guesses right, when he saw a ventilation opening as big as a window whirling, Luo Zheng smiled, and everyone else smiled too.
The ventilation duct led inside, pumping fresh air into the prison. While it provided a route for an attack, Luo Zheng no longer wanted to attack. Too many had died already; it wasn't necessary for more to die. He imdiately shouted, "Quick, bring over the sheets, suck in the thick smoke, and smoke them out."
"Understood." Everyone's spirits were imdiately lifted, and they sprung into action, not caring about any international distress signals. They brought all the burning sheets, piled them beside the ventilation openings, and the extractor drew the black smoke into the ducts. The sheets were not clean, and the black smoke they produced was toxic—too much for anyone to endure.
Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief internally, calling over so people to help. He temporarily halted the work on blocking the entry and exit pathways, lest everyone outside get trapped. Then, as more ventilation ducts were discovered, everyone got moving, securing the burning sheets to the ducts and hanging them near the openings. Watching the thick smoke being sucked in, everyone smiled.
"This approach is good. Next, it won't be negotiation but hostage-taking," said the madman.
"Hmm, it will depend on the resilience of the police inside and how soon Sam Country's reinforcents arrive," Luo Zheng said with a smile, looking up at the sky. The sky was cloudless, the sea breeze gentle, and the waves shimred. He sneered and added, "Fighter jets rushing here won't make much difference. We only need ard helicopters, but they have a limited flight range and must rely on aircraft carriers. This ans Sam Country must send an aircraft carrier here, which will take so ti, at least half an hour. That's enough ti for us to smoke out the people inside, don't you think?"
"I'm not very knowledgeable about aircraft carriers, but I guess this timing is about right. Even ten minutes would be enough. Let's coordinate more people to help instead of blocking that passage now. Let Jeff's team stay in place; the threat must continue, attacking from both sides. I believe the people inside won't hold out much longer," the madman said, laughing.
"Hmm!" Luo Zheng imdiately gestured for the people carrying the steel pipes to co help carry the burning sheets.
Within five minutes, Jeff ca running excitedly and called out admiringly, "Brother, the prison warden is asking for negotiations. They can't hold on anymore, hehe." Saying this, he gave a thumbs up.
"Don't stop, everyone," Luo Zheng exclaid with joy. Until negotiations ca through, they couldn't stop what they were doing. He signaled for Jeff to lead the way and hurried downstairs. Soon, they reached a stairwell and saw the large iron gate open, with a group of police officers loaded with live ammunitions standing inside, their guns aid outwards, ready for action. The area was filled with black smoke. Luo Zheng walked up to the gate and, looking at the warden, sneered, "Hello, warden."
The warden glared at Luo Zheng, wishing he could tear Luo Zheng into pieces, his hatred for Song Yan even more intense. If not for Song Yan, would he be in this situation? But despite his hatred, he had to address the imdiate problem, suppressing his rage and saying coldly, "No one can do anything about this situation. Let's negotiate."
"Wrong. It's you who are in a passive position. We can negotiate, but put down your guns. I assure you of your safety. To be honest, I don't want more people to die. Otherwise, I wouldn't be talking to you at all, as you can see," Luo Zheng said with a cold laugh. "I believe you don't want more people to die either, right?"
"How can I trust you?" the warden asked coldly.
"You don't need to believe ," Luo Zheng said, seeing the astonishnt on the warden's face, he explained, "Even if we capture all of you, we can't get out. We're surrounded by the sea. I believe your reinforcents must have arrived by now. You will beco our bargaining chips in negotiations with your country. Killing you would be cutting off our own way out."
"You're very shrewd; it's a pity I realized too late," the warden said, staring deeply at Luo Zheng. A flicker of regret passed through his icy gaze, he sighed deeply and said, "I hope you keep your word."
"Of course, you should know who I am. Killing you would be pointless," Luo Zheng said with a cold laugh.
The warden glanced at the police officers beside him and said with a bitter expression, "Guys, put down your guns. I will take all the responsibility. You are still young, there's no need to lose your lives here."
Upon hearing this, the police officers' tense expressions relaxed. They slowly lowered their guns and looked at Luo Zheng at the door. Luo Zheng signaled the prisoners to retreat as a sign of goodwill and chuckled casually, "We are all convicts, dead n. You are police officers with bright futures ahead. If we really fought it out, you'd be at a loss. Isn't it better this way? If everyone is happy, why needlessly fight back and forth? Afterwards, you can say you fought but were overpowered. It won't affect your careers."
"I hope you keep your promise," the warden said helplessly. The thick black smoke from burning blankets had already perated the entire basent, making it impossible to hold out until reinforcents arrived. Continuing to hold out would be suicide. Other than negotiating, there was no better option. He gave Luo Zheng a long look, unholstered his gun, and handed it to Luo Zheng as a sign of sincerity.
Luo Zheng took it, glanced at it briefly, and put it away. Then he said to Jeff, "Take a few n upstairs, collect their guns. Nobody acts out of line, or don't bla for being rciless."
"Yes," Jeff quickly complied. Since the police had given up resistance, there was no need for more trouble. He chose a few reliable n to go up and collect the weapons. Seeing the warden had compromised, the police cooperated too. After disarming, they all stood aside, watching Luo Zheng anxiously.
Things turned out better than expected. Luo Zheng wouldn't harm these police officers. After disarming them, he signaled everyone to move to the outer platform and had the police gather together. Once all the police and staff had erged, he closed the entrance door to prevent the black smoke from spreading. The burning blankets were extinguished by everyone.
Looking at the sowhat panicked police, numbering around forty or fifty, Luo Zheng's gaze inadvertently drifted towards the crystal blue sky, the drifting white clouds, and the fierce sun. He took a deep breath and thought to himself how good it felt to be alive. Seeing the warden approaching, he said, "Don't worry, as long as your n don't resist, I guarantee no one will be killed."
As he was saying this, a prisoner suddenly pounced on a police officer, pinning him to the ground and beginning to punch and kick. Luo Zheng's expression changed drastically. He looked at Jeff, who, with a roar, charged over with his n, knocked the attacker off, and struck him with the butt of his gun, then dragged him over like a dead dog and threw him down in front of Luo Zheng.
"Why didn't you follow orders?" Luo Zheng looked at him and shouted angrily.
