All the police officers turned to look at Luo Zheng with questioning eyes, their faces turning ashen. The prison warden also coldly stared at Luo Zheng, growing anxious. If Luo Zheng reneged on their agreent, they would all be dood. Without weapons, they were no match for these ruthless criminals. Thankfully, Luo Zheng did not further trouble the police. Instead, he beat up the offending prisoner, easing the tension. He then gestured for the agitated officers to quiet down before turning his gaze to Luo Zheng.
"That bastard used to beat up!" The prisoner raged, showing no respect for Luo Zheng; following orders was one thing, but personal interests made it quite another.
Luo Zheng roughly guessed what was happening. His expression turned icy as he drew his service pistol and said coldly, "I said no one should start trouble. You can't bla now."
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out, the bullet hitting the man between the eyes. The prisoner's face showed utter shock as he looked at Luo Zheng, not believing that Luo Zheng would shoot without hesitation. His fierce eyes started to lose focus, his body stiffening as he fell backward, dead with his eyes still open.
"I'll say it again, no matter what grudges you have with each other, since the police have chosen to negotiate and shown their sincerity, we can't break the negotiations. Breaking the peace ans destruction. Anyone who dares to drive us towards death, I'll be the first to not let him off," Luo Zheng growled coldly, and a terrifying aura of lethal intent burst forth from him, making the surrounding air feel as though it had turned to ice.
Everyone who witnessed this scene was shocked. They hadn't expected Luo Zheng's murderous aura to be so intense—how many had he killed to develop such a presence? Everyone chose to remain silent. Luo Zheng scanned the room, his gaze falling on the prison warden, as he stated coldly, "Are you satisfied with this answer?"
"Hmm, I'll trust you for now," the prison warden huffed, then continued, "The rescue team will arrive soon. Do you plan to use us as human shields?"
"Of course, that is your only value and the precondition for my agreeing to negotiate. If you're not willing, then what use is there in keeping you?" Luo Zheng replied coldly, showing no room for compromise.
The prison warden knew Luo Zheng spoke the truth, but he was extrely annoyed and glared at Luo Zheng, contemplating resistance. But having handed over their firearms, they were left with no room to maneuver. Push the crowd too far, and everyone's life hung in the balance. After a mont's contemplation, he gave up the idea of resistance reluctantly and said with dissatisfaction, "I hope you won't ss around, or it's bad news for everyone."
"Of course, I'm well aware of what I'm doing," Luo Zheng replied coldly. He looked towards the other prisoners and continued, "I believe you all know what you are doing as well. If you want to live, then follow my lead. If we die, we die together; if we live, we live together. Anyone who disobeys my command, don't bla for being ruthless."
"Yes," Jeff puffed his chest out and responded loudly, turning to look at the others with a fierce glint in his eyes, like a starved beast ready to show its claws at a mont's notice. Those with Jeff cocked their weapons like hungry wolves ready to pounce, utterly vicious.
When one's own life is threatened, no one can afford to ignore it. Everyone vigilantly scanned their surroundings, fearing soone might act as the man before had done, pushing the police to a point of mutual destruction. After all, it would be themselves who suffered. Moreover, Luo Zheng's iron-fisted approach had left everyone in shock. No matter the grievances, they were swallowed for the ti being.
Luo Zheng gave everyone a cold glance and then turned to Jeff. This guy was clever enough to know that cooperation was essential to stay alive. He had posed himself humbly, and he was strong and could be flexible when necessary. If they encountered him on the battlefield in the future, he would be a formidable opponent. But for now, he was of use. After a mont of thought, Luo Zheng spoke, "Find a few people to bring so rope and handcuffs, and it's also ti to take off these shackles on our feet."
Since the prison break, everyone had been fighting just to survive, with no ti to catch their breath. Now that the situation was temporarily under control, it was ti to remove the shackles at their feet. The chains on the shackles were about a ter long, which didn't affect walking, but still, it was inconvenient to have them on.
Jeff complied with a nod, directing one of his n to summon a few others to fetch ropes and handcuffs. Then he looked at the warden, who, understanding the situation, took out a bunch of keys from his pocket. There was no point in resisting any longer, as doing so would only lead to unnecessary casualties. The other guards also presented their keys.
Once Luo Zheng was freed, he moved his feet around, feeling much more comfortable. The madman, too, was ecstatic to be free of his shackles, and Luo Zheng felt relieved for him. Thirty years in chains—who could endure that? Luo Zheng approached the warden, glanced at the other officers, and said, "Cooperate with us, and I assure you, no more lives will be lost. Your rescue team should be arriving soon, and we need you as shields. You understand what I'm saying."
The officers looked at the warden bitterly. After a mont of thought, he said, "Fine, but if the rescue team attacks indiscriminately, we'll have to find a way to hide. By then, I hope you won't attack us from behind."
"Of course. If it cos to that, we're all in the sa boat," Luo Zheng responded understandingly. He pondered the warden's words carefully. Sam Country might indeed launch an indiscriminate attack to silence them. After the massacre, they'd just give dals to the cops and everyone killed on the ship would die in vain. Then blow up the prison and all traces would vanish.
At this thought, Luo Zheng shivered and looked at the warden in surprise. He saw the warden looking back at him with the sa bitter expression—it was clear the warden had considered this possibility as well, and it seed highly likely. Luo Zheng's expression changed dramatically, and he quickly went over to the madman, whispering in Huaxia language, "Brother, do you think Sam Country would blow up this prison with missiles?"
"Hiss? This place is extraordinarily solid; would missiles work?" The madman looked at Luo Zheng in astonishnt, his expression darkening as he said, "If Sam Country intends to silence us, that's a significant possibility. However, they will send reinforcents to check the situation before that. We have to figure out a solution to this problem." And with that, he fell into contemplation.
Luo Zheng's expression also turned grave as he brooded over the matter. It was a critical issue that couldn't be taken lightly. When he saw soone bringing handcuffs for the police, chaining them together and binding them with ropes, Luo Zheng did not intervene but continued his pondering. After Jeff organized everyone and secured all the officers, he approached Luo Zheng. Seeing Luo Zheng deep in thought, Jeff patiently waited at his side.
After a while, Luo Zheng suddenly whispered to Jeff, "What if Sam Country decides to bomb this place with missiles and turn it into rubble? Do you have any plan for that?"
"Ah?" Jeff looked at Luo Zheng with surprise, his face turning pale. The ferocious look in his eyes beca anxious, clearly shaken by the hypothesis.
