Strategy is the direction that guides action, while tactics are the ans to reach that direction. Without a clear direction, no matter how many thods you have or how good your tactics are, you might still end up going in the opposite direction. Thus, when carrying out an assignnt, everyone habitually starts by confirming the overall strategy, that is, the overall direction of the combat. Everyone fell into deep thought.
A mont later Ghost Hand pressed on, "Luring the Arctic Bear Country's troops to attack the Terrorist Organization is a feasible strategy, but, the Arctic Bear Country isn't foolish. The Terrorist Organization's training camp is located within Sam Country's territory, and the records show it's a leased location. It's been there for many years without issue with the Arctic Bear Country, which clearly turns a blind eye to the existence of the camp. Will they easily fall for our instigation and division? The strategy is sound, but how should we arrange the specific tactics?"
Everyone agreed with the strategy, but when it ca to the specifics of the tactical deploynt, they all curiously turned to look at Luo Zheng, waiting for his final answer. Luo Zheng thought for a mont and said, "Since the base of the Terrorist Organization is also the stronghold of the Death God Killer Organization, we could pretend to be the Death God Killer Organization and assassinate a high-ranking military officer from Sam Country, deliberately revealing our identity. Luring Sam Country's troops to the training camp is too far-fetched, Sam Country won't take the bait. We must leave so vague clues now that point towards the camp, to provoke conflict between the two sides, and in doing so, we should be able to achieve our goal."
Everyone listened and found the reasoning sound, turning their gazes toward Lan Xue. The operation plan ultimately needed Lan Xue's confirmation. Lan Xue thought for a while and also felt the strategy was workable. With slightly furrowed brows, she pondered and asked, "The strategy is workable, and there's no issue with the tactical arrangents, but we must find usable clues. It doesn't make sense for the Death God Killer Organization to leave clues at the scene of their actions. How do we solve this problem?"
"Let's go check out the training camp first and find an opportunity to make our move," Luo Zheng suggested.
Everyone nodded in agreent, acknowledging that in order to implent the strategy and tactics just determined, they must first find valuable clues. Without evidence, how could they direct Sam Country's suspicions towards the training camp?
The wind started to pick up, and the night breeze carried a hint of coolness, rustling the leaves as if countless elves were dancing delicately. A crescent moon slowly erged from the clouds, casting a thin veil over the forest, soft and serene. Unidentifiable insects also began to chirp rrily, as if calling for the break of dawn. Occasionally, a wild bird would flit out of the woods with a strange cry, its destination unknown, adding a sense of vitality to the forest.
Luo Zheng quietly observed his surroundings with a calm expression, almost imperceptibly closing his eyes in thought. The mission was arduous, and the adversary was formidable. Apart from drawing the Sam Country wolf to drive away the training camp tiger, was there another way? Lost in thought, Luo Zheng unwittingly fell asleep.
Without realizing it, Luo Zheng was awakened by a fragrant scent. Opening his eyes, he saw that dawn had broken and Lan Xue was turning a wild rabbit over the campfire. The other three were nowhere to be seen. Seeing Luo Zheng awake, Lan Xue smiled and said, "You sure can sleep soundly. Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Where are the other three?" Luo Zheng asked casually.
"Snow Leopard is on lookout duty, Mountain Eagle has gone to scout from the mountain peak, and Ghost Hand is nearby collecting firewood," Lan Xue explained. She glanced at Luo Zheng and saw that he looked pale, with red eyes and a haggard face. Out of concern she said, "Are you worried about the mission? Don't rush it; being hasty is of no use and will only impair your judgnt. Maintaining a good ntal state is most important."
"I'm fine, don't worry," Luo Zheng assured as he stood up and stretched his body. Looking around at the lush fir trees, he noted their hard timber, with so of the older ones reaching heights of twenty to thirty ters. Shortly thereafter, Luo Zheng heard rustling sounds and turned his head to see Ghost Hand returning with a wild chicken in hand.
"Awake? We're in for a treat this morning," Ghost Hand said with a smile, holding up the wild chicken.
"Thanks for the effort," Luo Zheng said, scanning the surroundings for a water source. His brows furrowed as he looked at the andering mountain ranges in the distance, seemingly without end. This was not like the tropical rainforest; water would be their primary challenge. Keeping vigilant, he began checking their weapons and equipnt.
Ten minutes later, the food was fully roasted, and everyone had their share. Mountain Eagle, who had gone out to scout, hurried back with a grave expression. Everyone was startled and turned their gaze towards him. Mountain Eagle approached the group and said urgently, "About three kiloters to the northwest, a flock of birds took flight suddenly. It could be that Arctic Bear Country's scouting soldiers are patrolling the mountains."
"Hmm?" Luo Zheng's face darkened as he pondered. It was routine for border guards to patrol the mountains, sothing Luo Zheng knew very well from his ti as a sentry, but this complicated their plan to reach the terrorist organization's training camp. An encounter with Arctic Bear Country's patrolling scouts could lead to a diplomatic conflict between the two countries.
They quickly extinguished the campfire. Lan Xue passed the remaining food to Mountain Eagle and looked at Luo Zheng, "It will take at least three days to reach our destination from here. Now that we've encountered Arctic Bear Country's patrol troops, we must thoroughly erase our traces here. Moreover, I wonder if our actions have already been exposed. Otherwise, the patrols wouldn't have co so quickly and accurately."
Lan Xue's reminder made everyone tense up. After a mont of contemplation, Luo Zheng said, "If that's the case, we're in big trouble. We'll have to take a detour, which will set us back by more than two days. Heading south will distance us from Arctic Bear Country's patrol troops and be relatively safer. If Arctic Bear Country has indeed noticed sothing, they'll think of this too. The southern route might already be under watch."
"You an head north? Hide in plain sight, right through Arctic Bear Country's heavily defended areas?" Ghost Hand asked, surprised. Seeing Luo Zheng nod, he turned to Lan Xue. Lan Xue appeared pensive. Ghost Hand thought for a mont and added, "That makes sense. Arctic Bear Country has always been arrogant, looking down on us. They would never expect us to move through their most heavily defended regions."
"But what if it's just a coincidence? Isn't that two days wasted for nothing?" Mountain Eagle raised an objection.
"No, if we encounter a fighter jet, we'll pretend to be ninjas and launch an attack, framing it on Japan. It's impossible for Japan to send troops here; there's only one possibility—that is, the people from the training camp. Let's not forget, Japan is also full of egomaniacs who'd dare do anything. Furthermore, the training camp is supported by Japan, and the camp's second-in-command is a Japanese pirate. It's certain that there are Japanese pirates training in the camp, attacking Arctic Bear Country as part of their training exercises. It's pretty standard," Luo Zheng said, suddenly opening his tiger eyes that glead with intensity, and proposed earnestly.
