"What's the situation? Why can't I see anyone?" Luo Zheng felt a jolt, and instantly beca fully awake. He lay prone on the ground, raised his binoculars, and continued to observe the enemy camp ahead, while urgently asking, "There's no one outside the enemy camp in the binoculars, the military flag on the training ground is fluttering, it's unusually quiet." He beca curious.

"They've probably all gone to the cafeteria for als," Lan Xue whispered, "About half an hour ago, an ard transport plane arrived, with a Colonel. It's quite significant for a Colonel to visit a place like this; he must be the highest-ranking officer here, a big fish. I'm worried that he might leave after his al. What's your plan?"

"If he runs, he runs, it's just a Colonel. We'll wait until nightti. Everyone get ready, there's an infrared detection zone ahead, we can't proceed rashly. After it gets dark, I'll use my binoculars to scope it out, and don't forget, my binoculars can see infrared at night. We'll see then," Luo Zheng declined, a Colonel was not significant enough to him, a Major General would be another story.

Luo Zheng took out compressed biscuits, swallowed them with the little water he had, and rested for a while. As dusk fell, the ard transport plane showed no sign of leaving. Instead, many people left the barracks and ca to the training ground. The sounds of training and battle cries quickly began to shake the night sky.

After about two more hours, the camp ahead gradually quieted down. Suddenly, a team hurried over. Luo Zheng was surprised and raised his binoculars to look. He discovered that the team was carrying many wounded and so bodies on their backs, each with a grim expression, exuding an aura of murderous intent. Luo Zheng guessed that it was the rescue team returning with comrades who had been killed and injured by the explosion.

"What happened?" Lan Xue's voice arose with surprise and doubt in the headset.

Luo Zheng relayed his guess, and everyone realized that the trap they had set had such a potent effect. Their spirits lifted, dispelling the gloom of lying in ambush all day. Luo Zheng saw many people rush out from the enemy camp to welco the group back to the base, which beca lively with bright lights.

"Reconnaissance cover," Luo Zheng saw the opportunity to strike from the noisy camp and shouted over the headset. He leaped out from behind the huge rock, crouching as he dashed forward, moving through the night like a silent ghost, creeping closer to the target.

Minutes later, Luo Zheng descended the mountainside and reached the valley below. He continued down the path, found a spot to hide, and raised his binoculars. Soon he saw red infrared beams crisscrossing the grassland ahead, almost covering all the paths forward.

After observing for a while and not finding any other threats, Luo Zheng charged forward. He soon arrived next to an infrared beam, tiptoeing cautiously past it. As long as he didn't bump into these infrared beams, there would be no problem. With the help of the binoculars, Luo Zheng kept crossing the spiderweb-like infrared detection zone and quickly broke through for about a kiloter, taking a position behind a hillside about one ter high, and raised his binoculars to observe the area ahead.

"How's it going?" Lan Xue's voice rang out in the headset.

"I've already passed the infrared detection zone, about two kiloters from the enemy camp. I need to infiltrate another kiloter forward. Everyone else continues to stand by until I return," Luo Zheng whispered. After observing for a bit and ensuring there were no infrared surveillance beams ahead, he put down the binoculars, put on his night vision device, crouched, and leaped out from the hillside, moving swiftly and stealthily forward.

The night was the perfect cover. Everyone in the enemy camp had gone to visit their wounded and dead comrades, and with infrared surveillance securing the defensive positions, no one expected an infiltration. Luo Zheng moved stealthily and quickly, managing not to alert anyone. Unknowingly, he arrived at a position about a kiloter away from the enemy camp and hid in a shallow pit, continuing his observation through a pair of binoculars.

People bustled through the enemy camp, hurriedly going about their tasks. The training field was empty, devoid of a single soul. Luo Zheng contemplated whether to infiltrate the training field directly when suddenly, he spotted a glint of light reflecting off a rooftop. Startled, he quickly ducked for cover and waited. After a while, with no further disturbances, Luo Zheng quietly shifted his position and peeked out of the pit, raising his binoculars to take a closer look.

Soon, Luo Zheng spotted a sniper hiding on the rooftop. The sniper's concealed position was particularly cunning, situated behind a low wall with a hole about the size of a bowl. The barrel of his gun protruded just slightly through the hole, making it invisible from the outside, but the sniper could see the area in front of him clearly. Had it not been for Luo Zheng's advantageous position, allowing him to notice the reflection off the sniper scope, the sniper's presence would have remained undetected.

Setting ambushes within the camp was a common practice. Luo Zheng figured that the sniper must have just taken up his position; otherwise, Luo Zheng's earlier approach would have already been exposed. He breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for his luck, and spoke softly into his headset, "There's a sniper on the enemy camp's rooftop. The position of other hidden sentries is unclear. Everyone stay concealed and stand by, don't move."

"Understood," everyone responded in hushed tones.

Luo Zheng continued to observe with caution, then crouched down again, patiently waiting. The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the gentle breeze blowing. Luo Zheng exercised his family's "Breathing Skill," blending himself with the environnt. Monts later, the sound of insects buzzing around could be heard, and he smiled.

The hidden sentry was a sniper, who is exceptionally sensitive to changes in the environnt, such as the sound of insects. A prolonged absence of such sounds would signal an intrusion and scare off the insects. As a sniper himself, Luo Zheng understood the psyche of a sniper well—the mont the sound of the insects resud, the enemy sniper would pay no heed to Luo Zheng's area, ensuring his safety.

After waiting a while, Luo Zheng suddenly heard a commotion. He couldn't help but feel curious and peeked out again, discovering through his binoculars that a large group was erging from the enemy camp, and the ard transport had already started. Luo Zheng was startled, but then overjoyed. At that mont, Lan Xue's reminder sounded through the headset, "The enemy is about to leave, it's a rare opportunity."

"I see it," Luo Zheng replied calmly and quietly, setting up his sniper rifle. He loaded it with an armor-piercing bullet and chambered the round, quickly aiming at the fuel tank of the already-starting ard transport. The tank was protected by a cover plate, which Luo Zheng noticed was sowhat thickened. He worried that a regular sniper bullet wouldn't penetrate, so he opted for an armor-piercing bullet instead.

With a deep breath, he focused his mind and steadied his breath. Luo Zheng's sharp eyes turned frosty as he narrowed them to pinpricks, containing all his killing intent. He beca like a volcano on the brink of eruption, poised and ready to strike. After a while, Luo Zheng spotted a colonel boarding the ard transport, with several attendants following suit.

"A rare opportunity indeed," Luo Zheng thought excitedly as his narrowed eyes suddenly widened with a burst of draconian killing intent.

"Whoosh!" The sniper bullet whizzed through the air, tearing apart the dense night with a sound so devastating that in the pitch-black night, it seed especially sinister. The bullet casing clinked sharply as if to herald an impending victory.
