"Uh?" Luo Zheng didn't expect such a strong reaction from Levsky, surprised, he looked at the other man and saw that his eyes were full of rage, like a volcano about to erupt, and asked in confusion, "We all understand the principle of not involving innocent family mbers, so what are you getting so worked up about?"
"You won't harm my family?" Levsky asked back, incredulously, his murderous expression easing slightly.
"When did I say I wanted to hurt your family?" Luo Zheng asked back, annoyed.
"Uh?" Levsky looked at Luo Zheng in surprise, gradually regaining his composure, took a deep breath, and said, "Being able to find out that I have a daughter, you guys are no ordinary people, definitely not rcenaries or assassins, must be the governnt army, right? The governnt army wouldn't do sothing without principle, so tell , what exactly do you want?"
"A deal," Luo Zheng said seriously, his tone cold.
"A deal? What can a man about to die offer in a deal?" Levsky said with a mocking cold laugh.
"I can grant you one request, you just need to answer so questions for , how about that?" Luo Zheng said coldly. "We are soldiers of Huaxia Country, we act with discipline, we follow principles, you should know that, when we say we will do sothing, we make sure it's done. No one will know if you die here, don't you have any wishes?"
"Huaxia Country soldiers do have a reputation for trustworthiness," Levsky said, sowhat moved. As a rcenary, as an instructor in the training camp, it all ca down to money in the end, but he harbored wishes just the sa, why risk decapitation as a rcenary? Levsky looked at Luo Zheng coldly.
Luo Zheng also looked back at Levsky coldly, with a firm and sharp gaze. The two n's cold stares t for a long while until Levsky coughed several tis, his face turning paler, and said, "Fine, I believe you. There are things of mine in a safety deposit box at the capital bank of Arctic Bear Country. I hope you personally deliver them to my daughter, can you promise that?"
"I can't guarantee I can do it personally, as my actions are constrained, but I will try my best, and if I can't, I will find soone trustworthy to handle this matter," Luo Zheng said thoughtfully and honestly.
Levsky didn't get angry upon hearing Luo Zheng's words, but instead smiled, recited the safety deposit box number and the password, then looked at the other people coming around, and said, "What do you want to know? Ask, I don't have much ti left, I'll definitely tell you what I know."
"Do you know soone called Tiger King?" Luo Zheng got excited when he saw Levsky was willing to compromise, and quickly asked, his eyes fixed on the other man, afraid that if Levsky passed away, they would lose any leads.
"Tiger King?" A flicker of confusion crossed Levsky's eyes. After thinking for a mont, he said, "The Tiger King you're looking for must be from Huaxia Country, right? I've been at the training camp for over a decade and haven't heard that na. Besides, there aren't any Huaxia people in the training camp. Are you sure the person you are looking for is related to ?"
"Uh?" Upon hearing this, Luo Zheng's face grew grave. After thinking for a mont, he continued to press on, "Where is the headquarters of the terrorist organization that the training camp is affiliated with? In other words, where is your master?"
"Nobody knows the whereabouts of the big boss, as for the headquarters, it's located in a small town called Gonda on the north side of the Alagang Mountain Range. From here, westward, past the border line, over the snow-capped mountains, you can get there in a week's journey," Levsky said sincerely. For the sake of his beliefs, to fulfill the last wish as a father, Levsky cast aside the rcenary rule against betraying an employer, and divulged everything he knew.
Luo Zheng, upon hearing there was a detailed address, felt his mood lift considerably. The hardships of the journey were imdiately disregarded. Noticing Levsky coughing up blood, he quickly followed up, "Where did Shijing go?"
"To the headquarters," Levsky said, his voice burdened, "The leader of the training camp was killed by you guys, and he was the boss's favorite son, his future successor. The boss will definitely seek furious revenge. So if you want to stay alive, it's best not to boast about this, and even if you do, wait until after you've handed the stuff over to my daughter."
"Thanks for the warning. I think no one will know about this matter," said Luo Zheng nonchalantly.
"You're willing to forgo the ten million reward?" Levsky asked in surprise.
"Ten million? What do you an?" Luo Zheng countered.
"His head was worth ten million in US currency, registered with the United Nations Police Headquarters," Levsky said, his dim eyes fixed on Luo Zheng, as if trying to see through his thoughts. Soon, Levsky realized that Luo Zheng had no interest and he completely relaxed. After coughing a few tis, he spoke with difficulty, "You're a pure soldier. That reassures . If there's nothing else, just shoot and get going. Don't die before the deal is done."
"Then may you watch over from heaven," Luo Zheng said with a cold laugh, slowly rising to his feet. He glanced at Lan Xue, who gestured to him. Luo Zheng caught on and looked back at Levsky, continuing to ask, "What's the defense like at headquarters?"
"I don't know, I've never been there, but I've heard that the Death God Killer Organization protects it," Levsky answered.
Luo Zheng looked towards Lan Xue, who shook her head indicating there were no more questions. Luo Zheng looked at the others, who also shook their heads one after another. He then pulled out his pistol from his thigh, aid at Levsky's forehead, and said, "Have a peaceful journey. As long as I live, I will honor the deal."
"Thank you," a flash of gratitude crossed Levsky's face; he completely believed Luo Zheng's words for so reason.
A gunshot rang out; Levsky was shot in the forehead and died instantly, with no pain, no regrets. For a rcenary, this was the most blessed way to die. Luo Zheng, watching Levsky slowly fall to the ground, felt a surge of reluctance, his expression darkening as he said in a low voice, "Clean up the battlefield, prepare to evacuate."
Everyone sprang into action, except Lan Xue, who saw through Luo Zheng's thoughts and did not move. She patted Luo Zheng's shoulder and said, "There's no right or wrong on the battlefield, only necessity. For the mission, we must kill, we have no choice. Furthermore, he trained terrorists at the camp and even the notorious Death God Killer Organization; his hands were stained with the blood of innocents. He deserved to die. Even if you hadn't done it, his fate was sealed. You gave him a swift, regret-free departure, and for that, he would only thank you."
"Yeah, I'm fine," Luo Zheng quickly adjusted his mindset and said with gratitude.
"Good to hear. We are soldiers. For our country and our people, we must take action even against the innocent if needed. This is the battlefield, it has its own laws. If you don't follow them, you won't complete any mission, nor will you survive," Lan Xue seriously reminded.
Luo Zheng took a deep breath, expelled all the negative emotions from his heart, and his gaze beca determined. Looking towards the night sky, he confidently said, "Don't worry, we're all going to make it out alive."
