"Boom——!"
An earth-shattering explosion sounded, shaking the entire ground as if an earthquake had struck. Luo Zheng and others, who had just rushed to the top of the sand hill, staggered and fell, turning their heads in shock only to see a huge pit appear behind them. Black smoke billowed from underground, and the pit expanded at a visible rate, swallowing sand and earth, filling the underground base's cavities, and no one ran out.
"Hiss?" Everyone stared dumbfounded at the scene, their eyes filled with disbelief. Such formidable power. Luo Zheng couldn't help but look toward Lan Xue. Lan Xue was also puzzled, and when she looked toward Ghost Hand, he shook his head indicating he didn't know either—the explosion was akin to a small missile.
"What on earth was in that ammunition depot?" Snow Leopard couldn't help but ask.
"Who cares, it's better that it's blown up, settling everything once and for all, hahaha," Tiger King said as he stood up, dusting himself off. Looking at the huge pit, he spoke excitedly, a glint of vengeful satisfaction flashing in his eyes.
"Right, who cares, burying all those bastards underneath is letting them off lightly. Let's go, let's go ho," Luo Zheng said with a smile, casting a aningful look at the team. Understanding his gesture, they didn't linger on this topic to keep Tiger King happy, and started to assemble. They had finally accomplished their mission—it was ti to go ho.
"No, I must settle a score with two people. You can find a place to wait for ," Tiger King said without hesitation, his excited expression turning firm as his eyes narrowed, concealing a terrifying murderous intent. It was obvious he didn't want the others to get involved.
"That won't do. How can we let you take risks alone? What if sothing happens to you? Wouldn't all our efforts have been in vain? We should all go together. We may not be as good as you in a fight, but we won't hold you back. More people, more help, right?" Luo Zheng imdiately refuted, looking at Tiger King with honest and earnest eyes.
Tiger King stared at Luo Zheng without blinking for a full minute, leaving everyone wondering what was happening. Just as Lan Xue was about to step in and smooth things over, Tiger King suddenly burst into laughter—with a sense of pride and relief, he clapped Luo Zheng on the shoulder and said, "The future of National Blade is promising with you guys. You're all not bad."
Luo Zheng felt a surge of strength wash over him, but it wasn't enough to unsteady his stance. This puzzled him; given how Tiger King had effortlessly killed the man in the black cloak, taking his life would be child's play. Why didn't his strength seem terrifying? Luo Zheng took a deep breath, standing firm and brimming with curiosity.
"Interesting. Who's in charge here?" Tiger King asked, letting go of his hand and looking around.
", Major and team leader, Lan Xue. Greetings, senior," Lan Xue respectfully saluted. Before the presence of the forr Strongest Soldier King, no one dared to be arrogant—even a veteran shut away for over thirty years was not underestimated, especially after witnessing the man in the black cloak, a troubling adversary, stand no chance against Tiger King. His absolute strength commanded respect.
"Major, quite a rank. If I recall, that was my rank as well," Tiger King said with a smile.
Ghost Hand, Snow Leopard, and Mountain Eagle introduced themselves one by one, their eyes filled with admiration. The legendary forr Strongest Soldier King, they had thought he no longer existed, yet unexpectedly, they had not only rescued the Strongest Soldier King but also fought alongside him. What an honor! They couldn't contain their excitent.
Tiger King looked at Luo Zheng, who introduced himself as well: "My original na is Luo Zheng, codena Ghost, sniper, Captain and deputy team leader, in charge of the squad's tactical planning."
"Hmm, very good. I suppose you all know my na, so I won't beat around the bush," Tiger King said with a satisfied smile, then turned to Tiger Girl with a stern face and cautioned, "Tiger Girl, you are my adopted daughter, and you might also beco part of National Blade. Regardless, you are not to reveal a single word about their introductions just now. That's iron-clad discipline, and any breach will be treated as leaking secrets. Even I won't be able to save you."
"Don't worry, I know," Tiger Girl earnestly promised.
"Mm, I still trust you a lot," Tiger King said proudly.
Everyone smiled kindly. They had witnessed and experienced Tiger Girl's caution and composure for themselves and didn't worry much about this matter. Considering Tiger King's strength, Luo Zheng couldn't resist asking, "Senior Tiger King, what exactly is the identity of those n in black cloaks? They are not weak. At best, I'm only an equal match. Yet, they stood no chance against you. Your blade skills are nothing short of divine."
"Divine my ass," Tiger King said carelessly, only to find Luo Zheng looking serious. Taken aback, and then realizing sothing, he asked with a laugh, "What, feeling challenged? Seeing my skills made you lose your ambition?"
"Yes, you are my goal. With your abilities, I estimate it would take five years to reach," Luo Zheng said honestly, his gaze drifting to Lan Xue beside him and feeling a tinge of bitterness in his heart. Five years? It was only one year left until Mr. Li's gamble. Could he beco the Strongest Soldier King within a year?
Lan Xue gave him a reassuring look, letting Luo Zheng know not to worry. She felt joyful inside—it felt good to be on the mind of one's lover constantly. Ghost Hand and the others knew the story too and were pondering. With Tiger King's skills, let alone anything else, reaching his level of martial prowess was impossible within a year, which concerned them.
Unaware of the context, Tiger King laughed heartily. Seeing Luo Zheng's serious expression, he refrained from laughing further, pondering if there might be a reason behind this seriousness, then explained, "With your strength, one year is enough. Don't think I defeated them easily just because I taught them their blade techniques. I know their capabilities all too well, and my blade techniques are the perfect counter to theirs. That's why I had the upper hand. If all of you attacked together in a life or death fight, I might be able to win with a knife, but it would be perilous, a fifty-fifty chance at best. After all, I'm not as young anymore. Using a gun, I might not be as good as you guys anymore. I've seen your gun skills just now; they're very good."
"Phew!" Luo Zheng let out a sigh of relief, genuinely smiled, and said, "So that's why. But still, your blade techniques are indeed impressive. I wonder if I have the credentials to learn a move or two?"
"I've seen you practice my blade techniques, taught by the madman, right? But you haven't practiced enough. You must first develop a feel for the blade, just like you would with a gun. Once you have that feel, I can teach you the ntal thod and Step Skill. The madman didn't teach you those because it wasn't ti yet. You wouldn't grasp them, and it could even backfire," Tiger King said earnestly to Luo Zheng.
"Thank you, Senior Tiger King," Luo Zheng said with excitent, quickly responding, as the others also smiled. If he was willing to teach Luo Zheng, naturally he could teach the rest as well. On the battlefield, one more skill equaled one more chance to survive–the more skills, the better.
"Let's go, ti to settle accounts with those two bastards," Tiger King said, waving his hand grandly and speaking with gusto.
