At the critical mont, Charlie used the police corpses as a shield, successfully mitigating Luo Zheng and the others' joint attack strategy. As soon as they gave up the thought of shooting, Charlie chose to retreat, a matter that took only two seconds, leaving everyone frustrated, especially Luo Zheng, whose face turned icy cold and frosty with anger. He unhesitatingly pursued, picked up a submachine gun and two clips from a fallen police officer, and holstered his handgun.
"Bastard." Hong ihua snarled, gritting her silver teeth in fury, her eyes bloodshot at the sight of the enemy, and she too picked up a submachine gun, roared angrily, and rushed after him.
"Bastard, you won't get away." Luo Zheng roared like an injured lion king, more police officers were shot dead by Charlie, inciting Luo Zheng to pure rage. His potential burst forth again, accelerating him several notches faster, leaving Hong ihua, Snow Leopard, and Mountain Eagle falling behind by over ten ters.
Soon, Luo Zheng spotted a flashlight beam, a figure running swiftly, without hesitation he raised his gun to aim and fired rapidly at the silhouette. By the illumination, he noticed the figure ahead stumbling, running even faster, but as he aid again, the figure suddenly disappeared at the bend.
"Son of a bitch." Luo Zheng shouted in anger and continued his pursuit.
The two kept up a chase, the one running never paused to fight back, and the one chasing never stopped for a rest. During the pursuit, Luo Zheng noticed Charlie's speed consistently maintained, as if he were a tireless machine, whereas his own stamina was flagging. Shock filled him; he hadn't expected Charlie to be so physically fit, his competitive spirit flared up imnsely, and he gritted his teeth to persist.
Half an hour later, no police officers appeared to intercept ahead, Charlie's speed hadn't decreased at all, and Luo Zheng found himself lagging. Hong ihua had long fallen behind, Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle desperately kept up, but the distance kept widening. This situation was driving everyone crazy. Realizing her own inability to keep up, Hong ihua urgently called to Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle ahead, "You continue to chase, leave traces, I'll be responsible for staying in contact with the outside world, and follow shortly."
"Understood." Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle replied, continuing to chase. But they had already lost sight of Luo Zheng, let alone Charlie, yet soon they discovered knife marks on the cave wall, and thrilled, they traced the marks onward.
Luo Zheng kept chasing while scratching marks on the cave wall with his Tiger Teeth military knife, ears perked as he sprinted. Charlie was no longer in sight, but the sound of running could still be heard, leaving Luo Zheng only able to pursue the sound, respecting Charlie's speed inwardly, almost an hour had passed. Normally, the pressure of being hunted exhausts physical stamina more significantly, yet Charlie seed unfazed, maintaining a high-speed run. This physical ability impressed Luo Zheng, and with an intensified sense of challenge, he stubbornly kept going.
After running for a while, the sound ahead suddenly vanished; Luo Zheng was startled and bolted forward only to find that the pipeline ahead had an opening. A sewer cover was opened, sunlight poured in, and Charlie had escaped. Luo Zheng was taken aback, swiftly climbed out through the outlet, eyes scanning around. Surrounding were streets with curious citizens everywhere.
"I'm a police officer, pursuing a criminal, did anyone see soone co out just now?" Luo Zheng shouted desperately.
"Is it that criminal from the TV?" soone shouted.
"Yes, which way did they run?" Luo Zheng called out, his expression turning anxious; hiding soone in this bustling tropolis was too easy, especially for an expert like Charlie. Once out of public view, there were endless ways to vanish.
"I knew it; I saw him and thought he looked familiar. He snatched my car and headed north." That person continued.
"Which way north, what's the car's license plate number?" Luo Zheng hurriedly asked.
After the person reported the license plate number, Luo Zheng spoke into his earpiece, "Did you hear ?"
"Finally found you, what's the situation?" Lan Xue's voice ca through the earpiece.
Luo Zheng reported the license plate number again, continuing, "Charlie went north from Changjing Avenue, imdiately track him, send a vehicle to pick up."
"Hey, is that you? I recognize you, rember ?" A taxi drove over, the driver leaned out in surprise, looking at Luo Zheng delightedly.
Luo Zheng paused, recalling a person, and couldn't help but smile, saying, "So it's you, of course I recognize you. Thanks for your cooperation last ti with the Military Research Institute."
"Are you catching bad guys again? Get in, I'll take you." The taxi driver exclaid excitedly.
"Okay." Knowing the driver's excellent driving skills, Luo Zheng agreed readily, quickly got into the car, while liaising through the earpiece with Lan Xue, "No need to send a vehicle, have everyone surround him."
"Where to?" The taxi driver asked eagerly.
Luo Zheng recited the license plate number, asking, "Heading north, can you notify colleagues to intercept?"
"The usual way?" The taxi driver confird.
"Alright." Luo Zheng understood that the taxi driver's 'usual way' ant not taking liability for any incidents involving the governnt, such as fines for running red lights, damages in a collision, or lost inco; taxi drivers also need to support their families, they shouldn't have to absorb losses for doing the right thing. Luo Zheng comprehended and agreed wholeheartedly.
"Then there's no problem." The taxi driver imdiately agreed, using a walkie-talkie to contact headquarters.
Soon, headquarters sent ssages saying soone had spotted the target vehicle and reported its location. Luo Zheng was overjoyed, conveying the location to Lan Xue, asking Lan Xing to manage the signal lights while urging the taxi driver to chase.
"Hang tight!" The taxi driver eagerly agreed, ramping up the speed, swerving left and right, accelerating suddenly and slowing suddenly, like a fish swimming freely in the ocean; nearby vehicles couldn't block his path. Luo Zheng fastened his seatbelt, inspecting his weapon.
The taxi driver being a veteran was very sensitive to weapons, he glanced at the submachine gun in Luo Zheng's hand but asked nothing, continuing to focus on driving. The radio constantly broadcasted other taxi drivers reporting that the opponent's driving skills were excellent, making interception impossible; more importantly, the opponent's car was fast, taxis couldn't keep up.
Soon, the taxi encountered a string of green lights, quickly reacting, knowing it was the arrangent by Luo Zheng's team, he maxed the speed, racing through. Luo Zheng's face hardened; through the earpiece, he asked, "Can you block him?"
"No, he's on the highway." Lan Xue's voice sounded through the earpiece.
"Highway?" Luo Zheng was shocked, once on the highway, blocking becos much more troubleso unless it's at an exit. The problem was no one could predict which exit Charlie would choose. Thinking it over, angry, Luo Zheng said, "Find a way to block his path, have local police cooperate, set up roadblocks, we can't let him escape again."
"Understood." Lan Xue replied.
"Niu Gang, Shi Feng, where are you?" Luo Zheng asked irritably through the earpiece.
