"Whoosh, whoosh!" Two more sharp whistling sounds rung out, seeming to carry the power to tear everything apart.
The taxi door swung open, and a corpse rolled out. As soon as soone from inside the car tried to run, Hong ihua noticed, raised his hand, and fired three bursts. At a distance of no more than four or five ters, the shots hit the person's back, causing him to fall to the ground on the spot.
These three were really out of luck; to smoothly pass through security checks, none of them carried any weapons. Encountering the sniper and Hong ihua's ambush, with the taxi driver no longer as a hostage, they could only take the hits. After dealing with them, Hong ihua slowly stood up, cautiously watching the taxi. Inside was another person, shot in the head and already dead. Hong ihua quickly stepped forward, checked the corpse that rolled out of the car, confirming it was dead too. A look at the person he had shot confird they were dead as well. With a long sigh, he felt relieved.
The taxi driver nervously got up. Seeing the three corpses, he turned pale and trembled all over, unable to speak, looking at Hong ihua in terror. Hong ihua gave a bitter smile and said, "Don't be afraid, I'm a police officer. These are criminals, nothing to do with you. If the car's damaged, it's on ."
"Police?" Upon hearing this, the taxi driver's panicked heart cald a bit.
"Call soone to clear the area," Hong ihua said into his earpiece.
When Lan Xing acknowledged this, Hong ihua continued driving the crashed car, heading straight for Ghost's house. On the way, Hong ihua inquired about Ghost Hand and others, learning that the Intelligence Team's action squad had already gone there, but there was still no news from Ghost Hand and the others, making his expression grow serious as he pressed down harder on the accelerator.
Several minutes later, Hong ihua arrived at the bottom of Ghost's house building. Seeing the area full of police and already cordoned off, many citizens were watching, the building was eerily quiet, and his expression turned solemn. He parked the car and got out, with a police officer coming to stop him. Hong ihua showed his ID and asked, "Who's in charge here?"
Soon, a slightly chubby police officer ca over, identifying himself as the deputy director of the district's public security bureau and the temporary person in charge on the scene. After so inquiry, he learned that the action team had already entered the building, but the suspect was still inside, with the specific situation unclear, and a signal jamr still hadn't been found, making communication impossible. They were preparing to organize personnel to go in to offer support.
After hearing this, Hong ihua quickly drew his pistol and said, "There are still many residents inside the building; their safety must be prioritized. Enhance the alert range and investigate the surrounding high points. I suspect the suspect has a sniper ambushed in the nearby high buildings, so move quickly."
"Yes," the deputy director, having seen Hong ihua's ID and recognizing his complex identity, agreed readily.
"Evacuate the crowd, I'm going in for a look," Hong ihua said, his eyes on the building with caution, hurrying inside, gripping his issued gun tightly.
Soon, Hong ihua arrived in the lobby. It was empty, very safe. Hong ihua thought for a mont, opened the fire escape door, and cautiously rushed upward, asking through his earpiece, "Can you hear ?"
Only static ca from the earpiece, causing Hong ihua's expression to harden. He quickened his pace, climbing to the fifth floor in one go, where he heard gunfire. Thinking it was the action team and the suspects in combat, he didn't stop and continued running upstairs. Upon reaching the tenth floor, he saw a mber of the action team and hurriedly asked, "What's the situation?"
"The suspects could be hiding in various corners of the building. Their numbers are unclear. There are suspects lurking in the residents' apartnts, making it difficult to clear them out. At least two suspects are ambushed in the corridors upstairs, and we can't advance," the team mber quickly replied, a guilty expression on his face, his eyes flickering with anger.
"How many people ca with you? Where are the others?" Hong ihua coldly interrogated.
"Ten of us ca. The others went after another suspect and haven't returned. We three were in charge of advancing upward. Two brothers have already died upstairs, one of them being the captain," the team mber hurriedly explained, his face growing ashen.
Hong ihua rembered hearing that Luo Zheng's ho was on the thirteenth floor, which implied that the three floors above were the suspect's primary defense area. His expression turned stern as he commanded, "Enough, imdiately go out and find the deputy director in charge of command. The ard police and special police have dispersed to investigate key routes, there's a lack of police force, but there should still be weapons. Find a way to get a batch of tear gas and anti-poison masks here."
"Yes," the team mber agreed quickly and ran down in a hurry.
The ten-mber action team was drawn away by the suspects, leaving only three to advance upwards, with the whereabouts of the other seven unknown. The gunfire was sporadic, indicating the suspects not only possessed strong combat abilities but were also familiar with the building's layout. With the building's square layout and enough size, the situation would beco even more complex if the suspects hid in residents' hos.
"We must take out the signal jamr, or there'll be no way to communicate," Hong ihua inhaled deeply, compelled himself to calm down, then decided that they should be focusing on the signal jamr, which was likely heavily protected upstairs.
With this in mind, Hong ihua walked upstairs without hesitation. Every step was exceptionally cautious, his whole body tensed, prepared to respond at any mont. Suddenly, he saw a shadow swaying above, startling him. He quickly retreated explosively, followed by two gunshots. The bullets hit the concrete floor, sparks flying.
Seeing the bullet holes on the ground where he had just stood, Hong ihua was secretly shocked. The suspect didn't even need to aim to accurately hit the target, proving their formidable strength. Hong ihua wasn't a combat team mber, his combat ability not strong. After so hesitation, he fired three consecutive shots upward.
The shots didn't bring any retaliation, not even a sound, as if no one was there, causing Hong ihua's expression to grow severe. He didn't proceed up but instead hid at a bend in the staircase, patiently waiting. After a while, footsteps ca from behind him; Hong ihua cautiously peeked and saw several police officers rushing up under the previous team mber's lead, bringing him so relief.
"Report, the weapons have arrived," the team mber said grimly after saluting.
"Attack," Hong ihua calmly commanded.
The team mber expertly donned his anti-poison mask, took a tear gas grenade, and tossed it upward. After waiting for a while, the team mber signaled for other police officers to provide cover, then charged up the stairs, quickly reaching the fire escape entrance. He opened the fire door, and several bullets were shot in, prompting the team mber to dodge and decisively throw the tear gas into the corridor, closing the fire door to wait.
"Hold here, others follow ," Hong ihua shouted loudly, leading the charge upstairs first.
Soone was battering the fire door, continuously shooting. The door was made of thick, sturdy iron; a team mber leaned against it, holding it firmly. Hong ihua led the other police officers upwards, with two officers staying behind to help hold the fire door, while the action team mbers pursued upstairs.
