The action team mbers used tear gas to clear the way, with the police providing cover fire, they successfully advanced upstairs. They left two police officers to block the fire exit and continued their assault. Following the sa thod, they reached the floor where Luo Zheng's ho was located. To ensure absolute success, the action team mbers threw a few more tear gas canisters, closed the door, and waited for a mont.
Hong ihua signaled the team mbers to open the door, peeking out herself. There was no one in the corridor outside. Hong ihua quickly darted out, advancing with a crouched posture under the cover of the corridor railing, hiding at a corner. She peeked out, noting that the corridor ahead was empty. A ho security door was riddled with bullet holes, and there were signs of an explosion at the entrance. She realized it was Luo Zheng's front door. Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned to see action team mbers bringing a few police officers who were also crouching as they approached.
"Quickly seize the other entrance and the fire escape channel, hold it firmly. I am going to save them," Hong ihua instructed in a low voice. Once everyone nodded to show they understood, she advanced quickly along the corridor wall, not realizing she had reached Luo Zheng's front door. She knocked on the door and shouted, "It's , what's the situation inside?"
The door was opened slightly, and Snow Leopard peeked out, cautiously looking at Hong ihua, full of surprise, and said, "How co you're here? Quickly, get in."
"Let's retreat quickly while there are no enemies," Hong ihua quickly urged.
"Huh, there were many people here just now, where did they go?" Snow Leopard exclaid in surprise, cautiously looking around, indeed finding no one in the corridor outside. His expression darkened, "Sothing's not right."
"Never mind if sothing's wrong, retreat imdiately," Hong ihua reminded.
"Quick, retreat," a voice ca from inside the room, it was Ghost Hand. Shortly after, Luo Zheng's parents ca out. Ghost Hand quickly signaled them to lower their heads and move along the corridor wall.
Seeing Ghost Hand's arm already bandaged, Hong ihua asked no further questions, bending low and walking quickly forward. Before long, everyone reached the fire escape entrance. Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard leaned against the wall, aiming their guns upstairs. Hong ihua signaled for Luo Zheng's parents to follow her. The action team mbers led the way, while the other police officers brought up the rear.
Everyone quickly descended the stairs, occasionally hearing gunfire echoing in the building, but the fire escape was unobstructed. They successfully reached the ground floor and rushed out of the building. Hong ihua gestured for Luo Hu and his wife to get into her car, tossed the keys to Ghost Hand, and said, "Take them to the hospital imdiately, Snow Leopard, you go as well."
"Understood, be careful, there are more than six enemies, at least two snipers in the surrounding tall buildings, their positions unknown, the jamr's location is also unclear," Ghost Hand quickly said as he grabbed the car keys, hurriedly got in the car, and left the scene with Luo Hu and his wife, quickly disappearing from view.
With Luo Zheng's parents safe, Hong ihua breathed a sigh of relief and imdiately called for the deputy chief, asking, "How much police force can be mobilized?"
"Only the personnel present here," the deputy chief answered helplessly. Most of the police force had been dispatched for inspections at important routes, leaving a serious shortage of manpower. Orders from above were strict, forbidding the redeploynt of any personnel from the front lines. The deputy chief was at a loss.
"Call in the auxiliary police and city managent," Hong ihua ordered imdiately.
"What?" The deputy chief looked at Hong ihua in disbelief. Auxiliary police had no law enforcent authority, and city managent wasn't involved in criminal cases. This was against regulations. Just when the deputy chief was about to remind her, seeing Hong ihua's stern expression ready to lash out, he quickly agreed with a wry smile and picked up the phone.
Hong ihua coldly watched the building, where gunfire occasionally erupted, indicating that the two sides were still in a firefight. The signal jamr not only disrupted everyone's communications but also those of the assailants. If they got separated, they would have to fight on their own without coordinated actions.
"Hopefully, these brutes still have a conscience and won't indiscriminately kill innocents," Hong ihua muttered to herself.
After a while, a large contingent of auxiliary police and city managent personnel arrived, wearing steel helts and holding rubber batons. Over a hundred n, utterly undisciplined. Without their uniforms, they looked more like thugs at first glance. Hong ihua's face turned stern, a glint of worry in her eyes — could these people do any good? But with no better options, she had to tell the deputy chief, "Let them go up, their only task is to evacuate the residents floor by floor."
"They're good at this, don't worry," the deputy chief felt relieved knowing they weren't being sent to confront the assailants but to evacuate the crowd. He readily agreed and communicated the task to the arriving auxiliary police and city managent personnel. Though they hesitated, they charged into the building nonetheless.
Not long after, Hong ihua witnessed an uncanny scene unfold before her eyes. A large group of residents rushed out of the building as if sothing fierce and ancient was chasing them, moving at high speed. She couldn't help but wonder, and softly asked, "Had you evacuated the building residents before?"
"Yes, but the citizens felt safer inside their hos, thinking that closing the door was enough," the deputy chief quickly explained, equally puzzled as he watched the frantic residents fleeing the building.
"The citizens aren't afraid of the criminals but fear the auxiliary police and city managent more. Are these auxiliaries and city managers more terrifying than the criminals?" Hong ihua wondered, but knew better than to voice that suspicion. Regardless, the willingness of the residents to leave was positive. Once everyone was out, the task ahead would be easier.
The evacuation efficiency of the over one hundred auxiliary police and city managent personnel was astounding, leaving Hong ihua gaping. Even the elderly were running out in panic, wearing expressions of fear. Before long, the leader of the auxiliary police and city managent rushed over to report that one household had a criminal who was urgently beaten to death with clubs.
"Oh?" Hong ihua was taken aback. That a formidable criminal was beaten to death by undisciplined auxiliary police and city managent seed unbelievable. Upon learning that the evacuation had reached the fifth floor, Hong ihua promptly signaled an auxiliary mber to lead the way inside. The deputy chief, seeing Hong ihua head inside, decided he couldn't remain behind and followed into the building, heading to the fifth floor via the fire escape.
Soon, they reached a household with the door open and a few auxiliary police standing guard. The hoowner had already evacuated, and in the living room lay a body, its skull smashed open, clearly beaten to death with clubs. Hong ihua questioned in surprise, "What happened then?"
"This guy was hiding here, taking hostages, attempting to negotiate. How could the brothers agree? They rushed up and beat him. Caught off guard by the chaos, he was beaten to death. This isn't breaking the law, right?" A city managent team leader explained, sowhat self-satisfied.
"It's not," Hong ihua hadn't anticipated the auxiliary police and city managent would be so brutal, disregarding hostage safety. Still, a mistake ironically resulted in the right outco, validating the saying 'evil begets evil'. She imdiately instructed, "Hurry and continue evacuating the residents."
"Yes," the auxiliary police and city managent personnel responded in unison, excitedly running off.
