Chapter 1232: Truth or Lie
“Stop!”
The area instantly turned tranquil. The ena had been dispersed, and everyone couldn’t help but look up.
The middle-aged man imdiately rushed to the second prince to check his condition. anwhile, Bella and the others hurriedly rushed to Nathan’s side. Even if they were weaker, as long as they could combine their strength, they still had a chance to escape.
“Elder. Help us! They are assassins!” The middle-aged man pointed at Nathan. “They’re trying to assassinate the second prince.”
“That old man!” lissa widened her eyes.
“You know him?” Bella glanced to the side.
“I did et that old man in the library when I was searching for a book, but that was it. I felt almost nothing from that old man. I never thought he’d be this strong.” lissa frowned.
Nathan couldn’t help but overhear their conversation. Normally, Fenrir would have inford him about such a threat, but Fenrir hadn’t said anything other than the warning that ca far too late.
As if reading Nathan’s mind, Fenrir actually replied, ‘My instinct is sharp, but it’s not a part of my divinity. This old man is blending with nature, and he doesn’t have a hostile intention, so I couldn’t sense him.’
‘…’ Nathan couldn’t deny that point. Fenrir’s senses were indeed the sharpest among his divine beasts, but that was not a part of his divinity.
The old man squinted his eyes. Nathan and the others were ready to fight. Nathan even muttered, “Get ready. I will bring all of us away. Protect during that ti.”
It looked like he had no choice but to reveal his space elent today due to this old man.
When he was about to unleash his ena, the old man raised his voice. “Kris.”
“Yes, Sir!” Suddenly, a man exited the grand library.
“!!!” Nathan recognized him. He was the staff of the library, the one who had enough strength to handle all kinds of matters.
“Tell everything that happened. Don’t be afraid to speak. I will guarantee your protection!”
“Yes, sir!” Kris hesitated for a mont. The second prince was glaring at him, threatening him.
As if noticing what had happened, the old man gave even more pressure. “I’m warning you. I hate liars the most.”
Kris gulped down, his body trembling. He had only two options: to lie or to tell the truth.
Kris clutched his hands before opening his mouth. “That man’s intention was very clear from the beginning, which was to et his acquaintances in the library. I don’t know everything, but His Highness was there.
“They resolved that trouble and exited the library without doing anything, but once outside, His Highness launched a sneak attack.”
“You bastard. How dare you lie!” the second prince roared.
The old man’s expression turned grim. He finally landed in front of the second prince. “Your Highness. I will ask you this once. Did you attack first? Yes or no?”
The second prince’s body froze. He gritted his teeth and pointed at Nathan. “What are you doing? Soone dared to hurt . And you’re not going to do anything about it?”
“Do I need to repeat myself?” The old man stepped forward. His ena suddenly burst out of his body. This amount of ena could be felt from every corner of the city. The people in the area started gasping for air.
Even Nathan gritted his teeth as he sensed the ena cracking.
The second prince started to tremble. He didn’t expect the situation would reach this point.
The obvious answer was ‘no.’ He had to deny it so that they would be captured. But the man before him would know whether he was lying or not. In addition, he perfectly understood what this old man would do if he found a lie.
Not even the emperor would lie to him.
Because of the constant pressure from the old man, the second prince gradually looked down while gritting his teeth. A single word weakly ca from his mouth. “Yes.”
In that instant, the pressure instantly disappeared.
The second prince was stunned and raised his head, only to feel even more scared.
“A good child doesn’t lie. However…” The old man turned to the prince’s guardian. “It looks like you were lying to .”
“Wait, Elder!” The middle-aged man panicked, but the old man was one step faster. He grabbed the man’s head.
“Aaaahhhhhh!” The middle-aged man scread in pain as a sphere of wind ford around his head. Not only his head, but his entire body looked like it was shredded by multiple knives.
The mont the sphere disappeared, the middle-aged man had already lost consciousness. The old man then threw him into the air until his body fell down and bounced a few tis on the ground before coming to a full stop.
His fate was unknown. No one knew whether he was just half-dead or already dead.
All they knew was how scary the elder was.
The second prince wouldn’t let this go. He shouted, “Elder! You should punish him as well. Do you think I would attack soone who did nothing to ? He threatened !”
“…” Nathan was speechless. He thought he was thick-skinned, but there was indeed soone who definitely had a thicker skin than him. To think he would shalessly attack him without feeling ashad after his judgent.
This was the last chance Nathan could use his space elent to escape. If he escaped, he might be chased down by this elder.
On the other hand, if he didn’t escape, the prince would be the one aiming for him.
Although he didn’t know the elder personally, he could see the elder was impartial.
Rather than the elder, it would be easier to fight against the prince.
Hence, Nathan chose not to escape. He walked forward while raising his hand, telling them not to do anything.
The elder’s expression turned solemn as he walked toward Nathan.
“I don’t know if you know or not, but all you need to know is that I hate liars the most. Even the emperor wouldn’t lie to .
“If you lie to , no matter who you are, you won’t get away. Hence, I will ask you one question. Did you threaten the second prince?!”
