Chapter 1233: Not Lying
“If you lie to , no matter who you are, you won’t get away. Hence, I will ask you one question. Did you threaten the second prince?!”
The second prince couldn’t help but grin secretly. He thought, ‘That old man is the Grand Tutor. Not only does he possess unbelievable strength, but he can also hear the true voice of soone. If he’s lying, he will know.’
The second prince was eager to see Nathan lying. After all, that was indeed a threat, at least from his perspective.
And when Nathan lied, the Grand Tutor would co for him. Even the emperor wouldn’t dare to lie to him, so he expected the Grand Tutor to kill Nathan.
With Nathan removed, he could do everything he wanted with the won.
‘Just lie. Lie. Even if you don’t lie, that’s fine too. That ans you admit you have threatened a prince. I can use the law to execute you.’
Vivian, on the other hand, panicked. She was the source of this ss. Although all three girls shared the sa responsibility, it was clear that the prince was aiming for her as the main target.
So, she didn’t want Nathan to get hurt because of this problem. She should have solved the trouble before Nathan even arrived.
Bella and lissa glanced at each other, coming to a tacit understanding. They both were ready to protect Nathan.
At the sa ti, they couldn’t figure out why Nathan had chosen not to escape when they still had an opportunity.
And it looked like Nathan had another idea.
Nathan stood in front of the elder with a firm expression. His voice wasn’t shaking because he wouldn’t lie.
“I did not threaten the second prince.”
‘Yes!’ The second prince clenched his fists as though he had just won. Nathan chose the worse path between the two. Now that he had lied, he would definitely be crippled or beaten to death.
But the second prince’s face turned ugly almost in an instant.
The elder, surprisingly, asked for confirmation. “You are not lying?”
“I don’t.”
It was clear that the elder could hear that Nathan was indeed not lying. He didn’t threaten the prince.
“Elder. He’s lying!” The prince shouted. “Why haven’t you killed him?!”
The elder couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. He noticed that the prince didn’t lie about the threat.
In other words, Nathan didn’t consider it to be a threat, while the prince perceived it as a threat.
“If neither of you was lying, then what have you done to cause such a misunderstanding?” The elder was perplexed. In this scenario, it could be a passive-aggressive statent, which caused a different take for each other.
So, he had to figure out the matter from its root.
“Is this an interrogation? I don’t think I deserve this interrogation. I have been wronged the whole ti. Is this how the empire treats soone who has done a great deal for the empire?”
The second prince was even more baffled. In front of the Grand Tutor, even his father would remain humble. Yet, Nathan actually dared to say such words right to his face.
He should be executed.
Unfortunately for the second prince, the Grand Tutor didn’t find any lies in his statent.
Nathan truly thought he didn’t deserve to be interrogated, and he had indeed been wronged. And for so reason, he might have done a great deal for the empire.
At the very least, from Nathan’s perspective, he had indeed done a great favor. As for how big it was, that was a subjective question.
There was a missing piece that the Grand Tutor didn’t know. What exactly had Nathan done for the empire?
The mont he learned the truth, he would be able to figure out the entire situation.
“Not only did your prince try to attack in such a dishonorable way, but he also ssed with my woman!” Nathan suddenly grabbed Vivian’s shoulder and pulled her into his embrace.
Vivian was startled. She couldn’t help but look down, her face slightly red.
This couldn’t continue. She was his teacher, not his lover. But for so reason, the Grand Tutor didn’t say anything, as if he realized Nathan was telling the truth.
‘Did he… just say I’m his woman? But I’m his teacher… but… but…’ Vivian’s mind was a ss. The urge to reprimand him and correct his words was suppressed due to the presence of the Grand Tutor.
As a result, another thought appeared. It was the mory of her intimate monts with Nathan, such as the ti she was so angry because Nathan lied to her or the ti she was most vulnerable when she figured out Nathan wanted to go to another continent for her sake.
Those mories caused her to be even more embarrassed because she couldn’t help but acknowledge that a part of her didn’t want to deny those mories.
However, the real reason the Grand Tutor didn’t declare it to be a lie was simply because Nathan didn’t lie.
Of course, Vivian was not his woman, but that answer was directed at Bella. While Bella was not exactly his woman, their relationship was very close.
In fact, he was already aware that Bella and Evelyn would always be together. Because of his relationship with Evelyn, Nathan had already considered Bella as well. Besides, Bella didn’t dislike that conclusion.
That was why Nathan didn’t lie. Of course, the elder could find the lie, but that lie only ca from one’s mouth, not one’s actions. This was the reason Nathan only ntioned his ‘woman,’ not his ‘won.’
He pulled Vivian simply because Vivian was next to him, so the elder could only see it was Vivian, not Bella. But the misunderstanding didn’t matter.
What actually mattered was the fact that the second prince had harassed soone else’s won.
And this person was soone who considered himself to have done a great favor for the empire.
If this were not investigated properly, it might cause a scandal. The people’s morale was at an all-ti low. People might even sell themselves just to provide for their families, so if this matter was known, especially to soone who contributed to the empire, not only the people but even nobles might raise a rebellion.
There was only one option left for the Grand Tutor. Despite his strength and status, the Grand Tutor didn’t hesitate to lower his head. “I’m sorry.”
The second prince dropped his jaw to the floor.
