Nathan led the Sleeping Garden and took his seat at the round table, where only three seats were prepared.
On his side were Evelyn and Luna. They were the strongest fighters they could have, so they were qualified to stand next to him. If not for Nathan’s overall contribution and his strength, one of them would have to sit here.
On the left side, Nathan saw Ternius taking the seat with Johnson supporting him from the side.
On the opposite side, Regina was the one leading the empire’s force with the Grand Tutor as her adviser.
"To think that you are still alive." The Grand Tutor was amused, staring at Ternius.
"Heh? You want dead, Grand Tutor?" Ternius scoffed. "Is that the intention of the empire?"
"To be honest, yes. Wouldn’t it be good for the empire if you, the war hero, died? But I don’t co here as the Grand Tutor. I co here as a summoner called Henry Kharasta Dion. So, I will stop here."
"Hmph." Ternius snorted but didn’t continue further. The discussion here was the most important.
After all, Nathan provided half of their total firepower, if not more. So, if their small conflict ruined this chance, they might not get another chance to destroy the Death Society. At that ti, the Death Society would have a lot of opportunities to screw the dynasty and the empire.
So, no matter if the other party killed their parents or sothing, they should put their grudge down for this mission.
Since they were done with their ’greeting,’ Nathan opened his mouth. "I’m thankful that both the empire and the dynasty support the idea of attacking the Death Society.
"We have managed to corner them, so let’s talk about how we are going to eliminate them.
"I’m sure that because they have been cornered, they will unleash much greater resistance. I can’t guarantee everyone will be alive by the ti we succeed, but I will do my best to ensure our victory."
"No need for pleasantries. We know what we are getting into. A bunch of us will probably think dying is fine as long as we can drag those wretched bastards down with us." Ternius waved his hand.
"This is the first ti I have had to agree with you." Grand Tutor Henry nodded.
Nathan smiled. "In that case, I will tell you about my plan. If you have anything to add, please don’t hesitate to tell about it. I’m nothing but a junior in your eyes, so I might be lacking in experience."
Even though Nathan said those words, none of them would underestimate Nathan.
Regina and Johnson had told Ternius and Henry about his leadership. From the way he brought this group and prepared everything for the sake of this battle to his achievent in the Endless Prison, they knew how good Nathan was.
So, no one objected when Nathan took the lead.
Nathan raised two fingers. "We’ll make it simple. First of all, the citizens of that city..."
Ternius stopped him right away. "No need to discuss that. Both the dynasty and the empire have agreed to share that burden. The city has been excommunicated, aning all the people inside will be treated as the enemy."
Regina nodded. "Yes. Both of us have made an agreent in that regard. Please proceed without worry."
Nathan smiled. "In that case, it might be a little too much to ask, but I’d like to let them evacuate if possible. The ti limit is today."
"What do you an?" Grand Tutor Henry was taken aback by the request. It was much better to kill everyone in the city. It was a loss that they could accept. It was unreasonable of Nathan to give them a chance to leave.
Nathan raised his hand, stopping them. "Please listen to my arrangent first. I want to open the evacuation possibility to all the citizens.
"We’ll announce it out loud so that the citizens can escape. This way, we can save as many innocent citizens as possible."
"I’m sorry, but your thinking is a bit naive." Henry frowned. "What if among them are people from the Death Society? What if the Death Society actually took them as hostages? What if there is an agent who manages to sneak into our ranks?"
"We will mobilize the original people who are tasked with monitoring the Death Society. By giving them only two escape routes, you will be able to take them into your custody.
"To answer your question, if there are so hidden agents among them, we can stop them. I’m thinking about imprisoning them and monitoring them until the battle is over. So even if they rebel, there’s nothing they can do.
"I’m fully aware that the city allows them to employ guerrilla warfare. It sucks to suddenly find your throat slit by a knife from soone disguised as a normal citizen.
"That’s why I want to give them an opportunity. Besides, we can gather a small piece of information about the city and the Death Society from the escaping citizens. By only giving them a small window to choose, they won’t be able to plan a lot of things.
"Instead, we might know what they’re preparing for."
Grand Tutor fell silent. It was quite reasonable, but one problem still remained. "What if they took them as hostages?"
"We will spare no rcy," answered Nathan without hesitation, his tone becoming cold.
"!!!" Grand Tutor was quite surprised. He thought Nathan was overflowing with positivity when he suggested helping the citizens, but he could actually make such a ruthless decision without hesitation.
Nathan ca from the commoners, whom they thought were useless. So if it were possible, he wanted to save them. He didn’t want to be a hypocrite when he said a lot of things about commoners when he just ca to this world and suddenly thought nothing of them once he had grown strong enough.
Unfortunately, saving them all was impossible. So, Nathan wanted to save as many people as possible, but he didn’t want his decision to cause the plan to fail.
That was why he was prepared for both things.
Grand Tutor ultimately nodded as Regina made her decision. "Understood. We will arrange for it."
"The dynasty will also arrange for the rescue. The ti window will be two hours before dark. Anyone who misses the ti window will be treated as an enemy." Ternius nodded.
