"Hmm… Everything seems to be much more controllable than I originally thought." Sera muttered while looking around.
"That is indeed the case." Noelle nodded while dragging two more unconscious won into the room. "We have cleaned up the brothel. Most of them don’t seem to be summoners. However, these two are the summoners. They’ve been brainwashed, so we have to be careful against them."
"I guess we’re lucky that the manager is out right now." Sera looked down, thinking about it carefully.
Suddenly, the door was opened again, not by people from the brothel but by people from the Holy Kingdom.
A blond man with long hair entered the room. He wore a priest robe that emitted dim golden light.
Next to him was a knight covered fully in white armor. There was a cross on its chest, signifying his status. They brought in several knights.
"It has been a while, Serafina. To think we would be working together again." The blond man smiled.
Sera waved her hand playfully. "Yeah. Well, it can’t be helped. The enemies are much more complicated this ti."
"That’s indeed true." The man nodded in agreent.
Sera extended her hand and introduced him. "Noelle. This person is a saint. His na is Eric. Well, he is one of the two people who are still talking to after I receive the corrupted stigma."
Noelle nodded. "Noelle Flamante."
"I’ve long heard your na." Eric smiled. "I am Eric. I’m just a commoner who receives divine favor. I’ve heard your na because your esteed grandfather, the Sword Saint, has helped us train the holy knights.
"That’s why I’ve brought with so holy knights along with Rank 1 Paladin, Raigor. He was one of the holy knights that managed to beco a paladin after learning from your grandfather. Along with the 10 holy knights behind and 40 more holy knights outside, we’re ready to assist you."
The paladin stepped forward and placed his hand on his chest. "Raigor. It’s an honor to et the granddaughter of the Sword Saint."
Noelle politely nodded. "It’s a pleasure to work with you. And I think we have to skip the pleasantries. We have to deal with the enemies tonight."
"Understood." Eric raised two fingers. "In that case, I will provide you with two more pieces of information. First, the manager of this brothel is visiting the orphanage. Second, the orphanage has about thirty people.
"I, Paladin Raigor, and Holy Knight Estes are summoners. Our holy knights will help us surround the orphanage. However, there is one big problem."
"The children in the orphanage, huh?" Noelle frowned.
"Yes. I’ve heard the details of the mission from my teacher. The Crimson Skeleton is the one responsible for bringing in the brainwashed summoners and sending them to the orphanage for grooming.
"The brothel is used to hide that fact, while the summoners who have grown up will be sent to the Dark Arena for an exhibition. This is how they operate.
"As a result, there must still be so people they’re grooming in that orphanage. They might use them as a hostage."
Noelle looked down, falling into deep thought.
All of a sudden, Asmodeus’ voice echoed inside the room. "I have a solution for it."
"Demon!"
"Watch out."
The holy knights hurriedly scrambled and pointed their swords at Asmodeus, who had just entered the room.
"What? A demon?" Eric and Raigor raised their guard.
However, Sera hurriedly shouted, "Stop! That is my familiar."
"Serafina? Your familiar? You’re actually having a demon as your familiar?" Eric looked at her in disbelief.
"I’m the corrupted saintess, so it’s not weird if I have a demon, right?"
"That’s…" Eric bit his lips.
Asmodeus looked at their expressions and chose to ignore them. He reported, "I’ve checked every nook and corner. There should be nothing important left in this brothel. No magic and the likes."
"Good work." Sera nodded. "What do you an by ’solution’ earlier?"
Asmodeus pointed his finger at Noelle. "Just have her hide as one of these annoying lanterns."
The lanterns in Asmodeus’ mouth were obviously the holy knights. As a demon, a high-ranking one on top of that, there was no way he would say those two words.
"Disguise?" Sera raised her eyebrows.
"That is impossible. This is the reason we should trust demons." Eric snorted. "Even if you wear armor, your ena will still be visible. At this stage, there’s no way to hide it."
"And this is why the followers of light are annoying. Even if you can’t, it doesn’t an it’s impossible." Asmodeus snorted. "As you already know, my lady. I can do a thing or two with illusion magic. I will be able to mask her ena.
"With you making it as an operation from the Holy Kingdom instead of our group, they will focus on these three summoners along with yourself. Then we’ll have Lady Noelle suddenly break through and secure as many hostages as possible.
"If necessary, I will apply another illusion to change her appearance to that of a thug from that orphanage so that she can infiltrate the building."
Sera and Noelle exchanged looks. The idea itself wasn’t bad. Although they didn’t admit it, Asmodeus was sly and clever. He was definitely smarter than both of them.
"This…" Eric gritted his teeth.
Knowing how the Holy Kingdom sees the demons, Sera imdiately declared, "We’ll do it like that. This is the best chance to secure the hostages. The problem will be the number of summoners. There might be brainwashed summoners who have grown enough to oppose us.
"Even though we have five summoners here, there’s a chance they will outnumber us, especially with Noelle infiltrating the building."
Asmodeus raised two fingers. "In that case, you will have to focus on the enemy’s heads first. And that would be the manager of this brothel and the one in charge of the orphanage.
"I believe that my lady and this scummy priest can take care of them."
Eric bit his lips. "Scummy priest, you say? We still have a paladin and a holy knight. Are you trying to undermine them? You demon!"
