"Okay, I’ll do as you say." Song Xiaowei was thrilled to hear that Xu Yun was going to find her a place to live.
After all, who would want to live in a dorm if they had a better option?
She smiled and said, "Just let know when you’ve found a place."
"By the way."
Xu Yun asked curiously, "I saw a poster of Xu Song on your desk yesterday. Are you a big fan of his?"
"Not really. I just like his music."
"Well, if I get the chance soday, how about I have him co sing for you in person?"
Song Xiaowei asked in surprise, "Really?"
"See? You couldn’t even resist testing you. And you claim you’re not a fan of his."
"Er..." Song Xiaowei was speechless.
As the two of them were eating and chatting, they suddenly heard a voice next to them. "Well, if it isn’t Song Xiaowei. Long ti no see. Is this your boyfriend?"
Xu Yun looked up.
He saw a decent-looking but classless woman looking down on them.
"What is it?" Song Xiaowei glanced over, clearly displeased to see the woman.
The woman smirked. "I heard you got into the television station. How’s it going? What show are you hosting?"
"It’s none of your business."
"I’m just trying to help you out of the kindness of my heart."
The woman said boastfully, "I heard you were assigned to the worst late-night radio show. How about I have a word with my godfather and get you moved to a new position?"
"Thank you, but I don’t need it."
Song Xiaowei said, annoyed, "I’m perfectly fine on the radio show. If there’s nothing else, please don’t bother us while we’re eating."
"You’re just letting your pride make you suffer. Why bother?"
The woman lectured, "We’re not in school anymore. Once you start working, it’s all about who you know."
"I have a question."
Xu Yun suddenly spoke up. "Miss, if your godfather is so powerful, how co you didn’t get into the television station?"
"I..."
The woman was at a loss for words. "It’s because I don’t want to! Otherwise, I could get in at the drop of a hat. Unlike so people, who have to sleep their way in."
"What did you say!"
Song Xiaowei, flushing with sha and anger, shot back, "You’re the one who sleeps around!"
"If you don’t want people to know, you shouldn’t do it in the first place!"
The woman sneered, "You don’t actually think no one knows you went to that private club with them that night, do you?"
Song Xiaowei was silent.
"Oh, dear. My apologies. I shouldn’t have said that in front of your boyfriend."
The woman asked, feigning concern, "You two won’t break up over this, will you?"
"We won’t."
Xu Yun said with a faint smile, "Because the person she was with that night was . Annoying, isn’t it?"
The woman was dumbfounded. "???"
With the atmosphere ruined, Xu Yun and Song Xiaowei lost their appetites and simply got up and left.
The two found another cafeteria to eat in.
Song Xiaowei said guiltily, "I’m sorry about today. I ruined your mood."
"Were you really unpopular back in school or sothing?"
Xu Yun couldn’t help but laugh. "Why is everyone so eager to get in your face and make a scene?
I’ve only been to your school twice, and it’s been like this both tis!"
"It’s probably because I’m prettier than them, more popular with guys, and do better in my major. I guess they just can’t stand ."
Song Xiaowei replied, "So they take any chance they get to put down."
"What a coincidence. I’m the sa way."
Xu Yun said with a completely straight face, "You and I are a lot alike. I was so handso back in school that all the guys treated like a love rival, terrified I was going to steal their girlfriends."
"Hahaha, if I were a guy, I’d watch out for you too."
"Too bad you’re a woman."
Xu Yun smiled aningfully. "After seeing , you can’t guard against even if you want to. My spear thrusts with the force of a dragon!"
"..."
At his words, Song Xiaowei’s mind sohow flashed back to the previous night, and her face instantly turned red again.
