Hearing Ou Jue say this, Xiyan felt even worse. The tears she had been holding back completely broke free in that mont.
Two streams of tears flowed uncontrollably down her cheeks. She reached out to wipe them away, but it was as if the tears were deliberately opposing her— the more she wiped, the more they fell.
Why wouldn’t he let her speak?
She was determined to speak!
Didn’t Ou Jue forget her? Fine— she would use her words to piece his mories back together, little by little!
Xiyan sniffled and said, "Do you rember? The first ti we t was in math class. I will never forget that mont, the instant our eyes t. Looking back now, it feels like an eternity in a single glance."
"You always had that cold, expressionless look. With that poker face of yours, you didn’t even have to speak to keep people a thousand miles away. And when you did talk, you could drive mad within seconds. At the start, I really didn’t like you."
"But later, I realized you were just saying one thing while aning another. You silently did so many things for , never saying a word. But I could feel them— each and every one of them— so vividly."
"I never told you this, but the mont that touched my heart the most was during the basketball ga. My stomach hurt so much, and then Xia Shiyi locked in the restroom and bullied . In the haze of fainting, it felt like through the thick, white fog, I saw you rushing toward . In that instant, my entire world was just you..."
"Wu wu... how could you really forget about ..."
Seeing Xiyan crying her heart out, unable to hold back her tears, Ou Jue couldn’t take it anymore.
He muttered a curse under his breath, pulled Xiyan’s arm, and embraced her tightly. "I told you not to say anything more. Why won’t you listen?"
The boy lowered his gaze, and the indifference in his eyes from earlier seed to have been completely washed away by Xiyan’s tears. What replaced it was an endless gentleness, spreading out like ripples, so full, as though it would overflow any second.
He used his sleeve to gently wipe the girl’s tears, his voice low and soft. "Don’t cry, okay?"
At this very mont, Master Ou had none of his usual cold and sharp deanor.
His voice was unprecedentedly tender, and even his actions were incredibly soft.
This girl’s tears left him completely at a loss.
Watching her cry... he really, truly... his heart ached terribly.
Xiyan, not fully understanding what was happening, remained in her emotional outburst. "I have to say it! I still have the most important thing to tell you! Ou Jue, I like..."
Before she could even finish the word "you," Ou Jue suddenly placed his long fingers against her lips, stopping her mid-sentence.
The afternoon sunlight spilled through the window lattice, falling gently upon the two of them. Everything felt peaceful and beautiful.
A bandage still wrapped around Ou Jue’s forehead, his dark hair slightly tousled and soft.
But even in this "disheveled" state, it didn’t diminish his striking handsoness. Instead, it added a hint of rebellious charm.
Ou Jue cupped Xiyan’s face in his hands, leaning his forehead against hers. In his jet-black eyes, it was as if tiny, glimring stars were quietly swirling.
"Idiot." A wicked smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "Confessing your feelings is sothing a guy should do."
He rarely smiled, but when he did, it was so breathtakingly beautiful it made people forget to breathe.
One simply couldn’t look away.
Xiyan was stunned, and in the next mont, she heard the most beautiful voice in the world.
"Xia Xiyan, I like you."
(Ahhh, classmates, we’ve finally hit the main point here!)
