Xu Ke was scolding Wei Ji on one side, while on the other side, Wei’s mother was completely unaware, eagerly bringing the master back ho.

It was quite a coincidence that when Wei’s mother returned with soone, Xu Ke had already left, just five minutes before she arrived.

Seeing the courtyard full of people lying crisscrossed, Wei’s mother felt her legs weaken as soon as she stepped into the yard. She intuitively sensed sothing bad had happened and rushed back into the house at the fastest speed of her life.

"Son, where are you? Say sothing, please, don’t scare your mother." Standing in the chaotic living room, Wei’s mother shouted in a tearful voice.

Hearing his mother’s voice, Wei Ji, who had been hiding behind the sofa, finally poked his head out, revealing a face that was bruised and swollen like a pig’s head in front of Wei’s mother.

"Mom." Seeing his mother return, Wei Ji dashed from behind the sofa as if seeing a lifeline, tumbling and crawling into Wei’s mother’s arms, but he accidentally bumped into his wound, grimaced in pain, and quickly pushed Wei’s mother away.

"Son, how did you end up like this? Who did this to you? Was it soone from the Xu Family? They dare to do this and even co to our ho. This is outrageous!" Wei’s mother had already made up her mind about their guilt without waiting for Wei Ji’s response, but she wasn’t wrong.

"Just wait, it’s unbecoming of a gentleman not to get revenge. I will definitely avenge today’s grudge for you. I will make sure they lose everything and co to you kneeling and kowtowing for forgiveness!" Wei’s mother said with determined eyes as she looked at Wei Ji’s face.

But Wei’s mother could not have anticipated that right after she declared her intention to seek revenge for her son, Wei Ji reacted as if he had seen the scariest thing in his life, not only showing no happiness but instead exhibiting deep fear in his eyes, and a sll of urine hung in the air; Wei Ji was actually scared stiff by Wei’s mother’s words.

"Are you really my mother? Do you want to die? Why do you just think about revenge? Let’s not seek revenge, okay?" Wei Ji shook Wei’s mother’s shoulders and shouted loudly.

"What are you talking about? You’re my son. How could I not wish you well? What’s wrong with you? How could you say sothing so hurtful to ?" Wei’s mother looked at her son with eyes filled with hatred, her heart feeling as if it had been cut into pieces, wretched with pain.

"Did you see my injuries? Did you see how the house looks like a ruin? All of this happened because you sought revenge on them. You attacked his wife and sister, and he ca seeking revenge on . You hurt his family, so he hurt . If you truly care about , please stop, Mom. If you don’t want to see dead, please stop." Wei Ji yelled in anguish.

"He dares to do this! Is he insane? Who does he think he is? Who are we? If he touches you, does he think he can still stay in Shangjing?" Wei’s mother’s hand slapped the sofa back harshly, her voice filled with barely suppressed anger.

"Why wouldn’t he dare? You’ve pushed him to the limit; it would be strange if he didn’t fight back. Really, Mom, just listen to once and stop. Yes, you wanted to stand up for by teaching his family a lesson; I appreciate that, but I don’t need you to avenge anymore. All I want now is to heal properly and then have so fun outside. That’s the only thing I’m asking for. Can you fulfill this for ?"

Wei Ji was truly traumatized after being beaten by Xu Ke twice; just a re thought of Xu Ke would make him lose his balance, cause cramps in his calves, and evoke an overwhelming urge to pee.

"But how can I stand idly by and watch you be bullied like this? You’re my flesh and blood. Even if you don’t care for yourself, I care." Wei’s mother spoke with a crying tone.

There are few people in this world who can hurt her, and her son happens to be one of them.

The thought of all the heartfelt things she did with a maternal heart, only to earn resentnt instead of gratitude from her son, made Wei’s mother’s heart ache to the point of being unable to breathe, and tears uncontrollably flowed down her face.

"I know you care for and you worry about . I understand. But I don’t want to pursue this anymore. I want this to stop here. I don’t want to be beaten or used as a punching bag again. It hurts too much. Can’t you just feel a bit of pity for and stop? Let everything end here."

Wei Ji made a pause gesture for Wei’s mother to see, while the master quietly hid to the side. Although he didn’t want to watch the drama of these wealthy families, he couldn’t help but listen in out of curiosity.

"What have you been learning abroad all these years? Is this what I taught you? He hits you, can’t you hit back? You’re just scared after being beaten, not even daring to take revenge. Do you still have a shred of the Wei Family’s spirit in you?" Wei’s mother looked at her son’s unambitious deanor, almost bursting out of breath with anger.

Wei’s mother had complex feelings. She felt both heartache over her son being beaten, resentnt for being blad despite standing up for him, and anger for his defeat without a fight. To be beaten so badly, and his first instinct wasn’t retaliation but retreat, was utterly disgraceful.

"You’re not the one beaten this badly, of course, you can talk about spirit. If you encountered Xu Ke and witnessed his might, you wouldn’t be saying this about ." Wei Ji felt his mother was being utterly stubborn.

He even felt that his mother didn’t really love him; she just wanted to mold herself into a role of a great mother in this way. Otherwise, why, after seeing her son beaten so badly, was her first reaction to question his lack of spirit, rather than whether his injuries hurt?

"I don’t want to talk to you about this anymore. What I just said wasn’t a discussion, it was a notice. From now on, stay out of my affairs and stop making arbitrary decisions."

Wei Ji was a typical cowardly bully. He didn’t dare lose his temper at Xu Ke but dared to vent all his negative emotions on Wei’s mother because he knew no matter what he did, Wei’s mother would never really abandon him.

So after venting all his negative emotions on Wei’s mother and feeling a bit relieved, he planned to return to his room to contact a private doctor about treating his injuries.

Just as Wei Ji was about to leave, his father, Wei Lai, returned. Walking into the house, seeing the ss and fragnts everywhere, the man, who had been busy working all day, instinctively frowned.

"Stop right there. Where are you going? What happened to the house? Which one of you caused this?" Wei Lai casually placed his briefcase on the sofa and asked.
