Only Amanda was pletely unaware of them.
Geminia glanced quickly at the three of them as Idan introduced her.
“He really looks a lot like Idan.” She appreciated Ryan first. “Silver rank, and he also has an affinity with the element of fire.”
“And this is Amanda.” Geminia looked from Ryan to Amanda.
No matter how much she looked, she didn’t find anything remarkable about it. She seemed quite ordinary. Except for the fact that she received an external force, thereby destroying her own.

Still in disbelief, Eleanor, as if hypnotized by her voice, nodded in silent agreement, got up and followed Geminia, who headed for the exit of the house.
As soon as Geminia disappeared from sight, Amanda immediately turned her gaze to her nephew.
“This is your doing, isn’t it?” she asked Idan bluntly. Once she started, she couldn’t calm down until she got a satisfactory answer, continuing to bombard him with questions: “Eleanor’s changes are your merit, aren’t they? How did you do that? What did you give her?”
“Yes, I helped her,” Idan did not deny.
“How? How did you do that?” she asked urgently.
“I gave her special pills that my wife made,” Idan replied and briefly described their properties.
After giving Amanda time to recover, Idan finally asked the question he had brought them together for.
“Amanda, you are a Contractor, and Ryan, until recently, was also a Contractor. Tell me, did you both realize what you were signing up for by accepting help from your Patrons?”
Amanda exchanged glances with Ryan and, seeing that he, like her, did not understand what was being said, turned to Idan and asked:
“What’s wrong with that?”
This question was enough for Idan to realize that their Patrons were hiding a serious flaw in the Contractor system from them.
“Listen carefully, the Contractor system offered by Beings from other worlds is not as harmless as they claim,” Idan said, beginning to explain to them the cruelty of this so—called help.
He began by saying that an inpatible element disrupts the natural path of development of the Contractor, making any development along other Paths limited and dependent on Patrons.
“In other words, Contractors are deprived of the opportunity to develop other Paths, including even the Path of Mastery, being hostages of one that depends only on the Patron.”
Amanda’s face paled, and she began to tremble. While Ryan, who had already freed himself from these bonds, became gloomy.
“But that’s not the worst part. As we understand it, all Contractors serve as a kind of spare batteries for their Patrons,” Idan revealed another dark side of this connection.
“The Patron can return what he gave to his Contractor at any time, taking this power to repair his wounds or even strengthen himself a little.”
Idan’s revelation came as a great shock to Amanda.
“No, you’re wrong,” she tried to protest, even though she knew deep down that he was right.
“It would be great if I was wrong, but unfortunately I’m not.” Idan shook his head regretfully, sighing. He looked up at Ryan.
“Ryan, you got lucky twice. Not only were you able to safely free yourself from your Patron’s shackles, but it also turned out that you originally had a hidden innate affinity with the element of Fire.”
“What?” Ryan’s gloomy expression turned to surprise.
“That’s what set you apart from other Contractors, making you stronger and even more attractive. Helping Saeline has awakened your hidden affinity with the Element of Fire.”
Idan’s words finally opened Ryan’s eyes to his peculiarity, which he himself had been thinking about for a long time, paring himself with his other acquaintances.
“That seems to be what attracted Livia to you,” Idan told Ryan.
“Earthlings are not yet aware of their uniqueness. As we have found out, in Junonia, the human race does not have an innate affinity with the elements, similar to what we have. And the saddest thing is that, striving for strength, youth and power, many earthlings accept the help of beings from other worlds, not even suspecting that this could destroy their natural gift.
