No sooner than Michael’s words left his lips, the Lords beca enraged.
"Courting death!" Lord Troy bellowed, veins bulging beneath his skin as he flared his sword outward.
Being honorable mbers of the Eternal Blade, it was no secret that all of its mbers were primarily sword users.
Creating spiderweb patterns in their wake, they dashed. Troy was in the front, Julia from the right rear, and Gregory from the left rear.
Michael’s eyes glead crimson, each of his senses attuned to the maximum with the goal of calculating the upcoming trajectories of the Lords’ blows.
Though the Lords lacked coordination, never having fought a lone enemy together, their strikes still carried trendous weight.
Although he was outmatched and outnumbered, he still gave the impression of a fearso opponent. Which by itself was a note-worthy feat. The fact that the Lords felt reluctant to go easy was a testant to Michael’s power.
’You really have a knack for getting under people’s skin! HAHAHA!’ Devil, completely unbothered by the danger, laughed in Michael’s head.
Ignoring the comnt of the soul weapon, Michael tilted Devil sideways.
A heartbeat later, the Lords struck, each sending a wave of agony throughout his body. Though Michael’s weapon was of the Mythic rank, it withstood the blow... his physique, however, was another matter.
He skidded backward, his form blurring as the force hurled him away.
Boom!
Instantly, the castle walls crumbled, shattered under the sheer might of the exchange.
Skipping to his legs, Michael realized that he had been flung past the castle’s chamber, finding himself in the empty backyard.
"This could have ended very badly..." Michael chuckled, massaging his left shoulder.
Amid the debris from the collapsed walls, three figures erged, their faces twisted in grimaces.
"No fucking way." Gregory whispered. Their strikes had connected perfectly. So how was Michael still on his feet? And why was the weapon in his hand completely unscathed?
"With that handso face, he’s probably so powerful figure’s favorite plaything... That sword must be his reward..." Julia said through gritted teeth.
The fact that Michael hadn’t collapsed after their first exchange was already enough to taint her image.
’Did you hear that? Even if they are dense, at least they can appreciate my excellency!’ Devil remarked with amusent.
Lord Troy tightened the grip on his weapon.
"So he really deserved a part of the credit..." The Lord scoffed. "No matter, we would still win."
Noting the brief hesitation in the Lords’ movents, Michael exaggeratedly patted his clothes from the accumulated dirt.
"Hm? What happened? I was led to believe that Lords had no equal... So how co I am still standing?"
He purposely spoke as loud as he could, ensuring the drones captured his words. It served as a nice way to enrage his foes, after all.
"We might not be able to kill you here..." A cruel smirk spread across Troy’s face.
"But we can torture you to our heart’s content!"
With Michael no longer facing a wall, the Lords took advantage. They encircled him before attacking from three points simultaneously.
’This is far from ideal. I have two hands. Handling the three of them would prove troubleso. I need to sohow neutralize one of them...’ Michael thought, summoning Heaven’s Judgnt in his free hand.
Moving faster than mortals could comprehend, he t Troy’s attack, deeming him the biggest threat, narrowly dodging the two strikes from the rear.
Clash!
In the span of a second, the two exchanged more than a dozen blows, Lord Troy being pushed backward.
"Preposterous!"
The spectators’ eyes narrowed in utter shock. Not only among the common crowd, but especially the seasoned warriors.
Nicole’s breath caught in her throat. She had always known Michael possessed potential, but this... this was extraordinary!
King Arthur rested his chin on his hand, his eyes fixed on the screen in a daze.
The Emperor’s crimson eyes flickered with rare acknowledgnt.
Scarlett and Isabella didn’t dare blink, afraid of missing even a single heartbeat of what was unfolding. Yet, even though they caught every mont, it still took their minds a mont to process what Troy’s backward motion had ant.
A Grandmaster was superior to a Lord in swordsmanship! Not to ntion, Michael was facing the onslaught of two additional Lords at the sa ti!
Were Eternal Blade’s Lords really so incompetent that they could be pushed back by a single Grandmaster... Or was Indomitable Alliance’s leader really so far ahead of his peers?
"I don’t care anymore. Just die!" Gregory shouted, shifting his grip for a downward slash.
Michael moved without hesitation, bracing for the impact...
Only to twist his torso abruptly! Heaven’s Judgnt slamd into Lord Gregory’s abdon. When the shotgun fired, it changed the trajectory of the Lord’s strike, just enough to miss Michael by a hair’s length.
Far from being done, Michael’s waist continued to twist, bending at an unnaturally sharp angle. He made eye contact with Lord Julia, poised behind him. Only for her vision to go dark as Devil carved her eyes in a beautiful arc!
"MY EYES!" A high-pitched scream tore from her lips.
BOOM!
In that mont, Gregory’s downward slash collided with the ground. Blasted in the gut, the Lord couldn’t stop his strike in ti.
"You piece of shit!" Troy roared, punching Michael in the chest and sending him flying away from the forming hole beneath.
Lord Gregory adjusted his footing. However, with her eyes carved, Julia wasn’t able to react in ti, and she tumbled to the lower level of the castle.
In the sa breath, Michael tensed his arms, hurtling Devil toward her.
He would have an easier ti handling two Lords unhard than facing three while wielding his signature weapon.
Judging by the basent’s darkness and the drones focused on him, Michael concluded that no one would notice if Devil assud his physical form to take care of Lord Julia. Since she was blind, as long as Devil remained silent, she would assu she was facing a mber of his faction who had been lying in wait.
’I hope you know what to do?’ Michael asked, making it look as if he had accidentally let go of the sword.
’Of course! Who do you take for? HAHAHA!’
Devil’s joyful remark did nothing to ease Michael’s worries. But in the end, he had no choice but to believe in his partner and shift his focus on the n before him.
Landing on the ground, Michael inspected his chest.
"Two broken ribs... not that bad, all things considered." He chuckled, eyes settling on the two Lords.
anwhile, in the abyssal darkness, where the drones hadn’t entered. Devil assud his physical form.
"Who is there?!"
Though Julia demanded an answer, the only response she got was the echo of faint footsteps.
Devil’s mouth twisted into a horrifying smile.
’This is going to be fun.’ He thought.
