A Dance Between Maniacs

BOOM!

Their fists t with naked force. Shockwaves rent the vault, the armored walls shuddering with the effort. The protecting runes flashed like lightning—absorbing, stabilizing, holding in place.

Nova retreated two paces, boots squealing against blacksteel. Leon managed only one, heels grinding but stable.

"Heh," Leon breathed out, smiling like a devil, his golden eyes shining.

Nova blinked—stunned for half a second. Her green eyes widened—just for a breath. Then the shock twisted into sothing else. Wild. Thrilled. "Well, well..." she breathed, a grin creeping in. "You actually pushed back?"

Leon raised a brow, relaxed in his stance. "You sound impressed."

Nova’s grin deepened, one corner twitching with amusent. "Tch. Don’t get arrogant. I’m just intrigued... and That’s worse."

Leon chuckled. "Oh! I’ll take it as complint then."

Nova shook her head with a smile—then surged forward without warning, her body snapping into motion like a viper striking. A punch tore through the air—faster than before. She didn’t wait to be impressed—she demanded it.

Leon’s eyes narrowed, adrenaline spiking.

Fast... But not fast enough.

He coiled his body sideways, her fist glancing past his ribs by barely an inch. The breeze of her blow whipped his robe. He ducked before she could strike again, then countered with a sweeping kick to her legs. Nova leaped backward, landing in a light crouch—skidding boots, shining eyes.

She’s good, Leon concluded, circling with her. Speed, accuracy, instinct. She doesn’t just battle—she exists for this.

And then his gaze followed—broke away only for an instant—fixed on the movent of her curves and muscles, the strength bunched under her lovely form. Her wild black hair stread with each turn of her body, like black fire lashed by the wind—unbridled and burning.

And damn, she was pretty.

Nova’s gaze locked onto his, her lips curling with intrigue. He was still standing. When she’d first fought that fool Edric Starlight, he’d dropped after just two exchanges. But Leon? He held his ground.

She was impressed.

"Still standing?" she murmured, her voice like silk and lodious. "Good. I’d hate for this to be a quick match."

"Sa," Leon said with a light chuckle, stepping back into his Voidbreaker stance. "I’m starting to enjoy this spar a little too much."

Then, their bodies clashed again—fist against fist, elbow against knee, shoulder against shoulder. Each movent smooth, vicious, relentless.

Nova ducked low, launching a rising palm strike toward his chin. Leon deflected it mid-air, spinning behind her—but she already anticipated, throwing a blind kick cracked across his ribs—THWACK!

He grunted, sliding back across the floor.

Voidbreaker absorbed most of that impact from her kick. if not... then, he be counting ribs.

Nova flicked a loose strand of hair from her eyes, her gaze sharp and amused. "You’re tough, Lord Leon."

Leon wiped the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, golden eyes gleaming. "You’re terrifying, Lady Nova."

Another flurry—fists crossed in quick succession. Their bodies spun and twisted through the room, frozen in a deadly waltz. Shafts of light and darkness sped across slick sweat-coated skin. Sotis they were so close their breaths entwined, mouths inches from each other. Hands flew up to deflect blows scraping torsos; legs wrapped around and shoved; bodies crashed into the power of colliding storms.

He disrupted the locked position with a sly smile, attempting a punch. She imdiately retaliated with a palm strike at his waist. He spun and deflecting the strike using his elbow, then little twisted to throw a knee at her ribs. It lands on her and the force sending a sharp shudder through her.

"Ahh—tch," she gritted, retreating, a smile playing on her lips. "You don’t exactly hold back, huh."

Leon landed lightly, hair whipping, eyes glinting with challenge. "Would you hold any respect for if I did?"

Nova smiled wickedly. "Not one bit."

They clashed forward again—fists eting, feet slamming into shins. The space around them snapped with raw energy from every savage clash.

She’s crazy, Leon reflected. In the good way. His respect ran high—not only for her looks, but the sheer pleasure she derived in fighting. And the smile? It never faded. She radiated.

She spun a kick against his neck. Leon stepped inside the loop—quick—but she was quicker. Her leg swirled over his to destabilize him. He reflexively grabbed for her waist to cut off her montum—but his palm ca directly onto her breast, sinking into the soft, springy curve under her tight fighting suit.

Boing!

Leon stilled, eyes wide, caught by surprise. Their eyes clashed—Nova’s blinked, then his, both filled with the unspoken shock of the mont.

Nova’s chest lay firmly under his palm, taut from her clothing yet soft.

". "

Then—

Leon mouth slightly open "Oops."

Nova arched an eyebrow. "Having fun, Lord Leon?"

A dry cough rolled out of his throat as he hasty withdrew his hand. "I was going to say your ribs – but my hand slipped a bit.

Nova didn’t blush at all. Her mischievous smirk ca back instead. "Next ti, take out to dinner first."

Leon was taken aback, and he smirked as he recovered his position. "That your invitation to go out?"

She threw him a lazy look, concealing the flash of surprise behind her detached face. "You think so."

But Nova’s mind was in turmoil inside. If anyone else had done that to her—in the middle of a fight—they wouldn’t have gone out with all five fingers on one hand. She’d already smashed countless opponents’ hands for less. But with Leon. it was different. He was the first man she’d ever wanted to confront on her own terms. The only man she’d ever been willing to make a challenge from head to—beat her, and marry her. He’d turned her down then, but had earned her respect, and sothing more she refused to let herself say out loud.

Strong, assertive, and damn good-looking—the type of man who made sothing inside of her that she kept locked deep, deep down. Today, looking at him now, she was temporarily without speech, her usual facade wavering. Not in denial that way deep within, she desired him.

But she was a warrior above all—and she’d never allow her true feelings show on her face outright.

With a quick movent, she ca around into a low sweep kick, sending Leon flying back.

Their grins stayed—daring, bold.

Whoosh!

Leon dodged with a grin—but then Nova tried a fake-out left, dropped low right, and her leg swung directly for his groin.

His instincts scread.

"—SHIT!" Leon yelled, jumping back just in ti.

The kick barely missed. His face paled.

Nova laughed, fists unclenching at her sides. "You dodge fairly well when appropriately motivated."

"Bloody hell! You aim to kill future generations?! " Leon puffed.

Nova didn’t even attempt to conceal laughter. "Should’ve blocked better. Or Next ti, wear so armor down there."

Leon let his breath out, shaking his head. "Sadistic woman..."

Her grin broadened; eyes sparkling with mischief as she threw a quick punch to his head.

Leon acted reflexively, lifting his forearm to deflect—BAM! Their arms crashed together in a loud crack, the impact resonating through the chamber.

They fought again—fiercer now.

Leon swung his leg to strike her forearm—BAM!

She turned and threw a punch to his shoulder—CRACK!

He slid across the floor, steadying himself with a hand. Voidbreaker defense ca in handy, he thought, his eyes tightening. Any other normal martial artist would have broken a bone from that.

He struck back—twisting low and kicking with a sweep that caught Nova’s thigh. She stumbled but recovered instantly, cartwheeling back up to her feet, laughter erupting from her lips.

"You pack a punch," she stated, eyes twinkling.

"You’re more resilient than you seem," Leon countered with a smile.

"Because I’m hard," she snapped back, her grin widening.

Leon chuckled. "Yeah, you’re certainly sothing."

Her smiled intensified. "Concentrate, Lord Leon. We’re dancing."

Their bodies ca together once more, limbs blurring once more—an exchange of artistry, speed, and tension. Hands clashed. Elbows jolted. Feet stamped, twisted, and slid. Their bodies ca together, pressed together—arms crossed, legs wrapped together, breath hot against each other’s cheek. Both lips curved with blood-lust.

For an instant, they freeze in place—faces inches from each other. From the outside, to any observer, it would appear a lovers’ hug, not a duel.

Leon grinned said playfully. "We’re very close, Lady Nova."

Nova’s lips curled Her fingers wrapped tighter around his arm. "Complaining?"

He leaned in, just a little. "Should I be?"

Their grins reflected one another—wide, amused, challenging.

A beat.

Then they burst apart—Leon flipping over, Nova throwing herself forward with a furious hunger in her eyes.

She’s crazy, he told himself. Battle-mad. Tougher than most n I’ve encountered. I wanted her as a partner... but now...

The fight erupted again—tense, liquid, frantic. Both of them gasping hard, smiling like madn. Each blow a flirtation, each miss a challenge, each brush a seduction veiled in rage.

She’s tough, he considered. Crazy from battle. Tougher than most opponent on sa level I’ve ever encountered. I wanted her as a teammate... but now...

His golden eyes fixed on her figure.

Now I desire her—completely.

Nova’s thoughts were akin as she parried his subsequent attack.

He’s made of silk. Quick. Ruthless. Doesn’t blink. And that Voidbreaker style... even the manner by which he moves—he’s made for it. I desire him.

Their fists clashed again—BOOM!

She slid. He stumbled.

Nova breathed out through her nose, smile growing. No one has ever tested like this. Not on even terms. Not as an equal. He’s not rely strong—he’s exhilarating.

And he was pretty. That didn’t hurt either.

They bumped into each other—once more—and gripped in another intimate collision. Her arm wrapped around his shoulder to throw him—his hand grabbed her thigh to hold her steady.

They landed in floor with voice of ~ THUD!

Leon above, holding her down on the floor. Their noses almost ca together.

Nova’s green eyes looked into his golden ones. Her smirk did not disappear.

"If I moan," she panted, "will you co quicker?"

Leon senses, her chest rising and falling. "If you moan," he growled, "I may not co at all."

Nova laughed again—short, harsh, and feral.

Their grins matched each other huge. Then—

POW!

Nova headbutted him.

Leon stumbled back, blinking, rubbing his temple. "Ow. Romantic."

They both scrambled to their feet, grinning again.

"You really show love with a little pain," he muttered with a crooked grin, clearly unfazed. He didn’t even feel the hit—but let her have that mont anyway.

"You’re smiling too much to an that," she replied with a smirk. "You like pain."

Leon laughed as he stepped forward, throwing a light punch. "I’m not a masochist."

Nova burst into laughter, easily deflecting the punch. "Oh, really?"

She spun—whoosh! —a sweeping kick flew toward his ribs.

Leon dodged clean, sliding back with a grin.

They began circling again, slow and sharp, bodies gleaming with sweat, breath heavy, battle-high still roaring in their veins.

They weren’t just fighting anymore.

They were playing.

Two monsters, two warriors, two battle crazies... dancing through fighting like it was romance. If anyone else witnessed it, they’d believe this was foreplay—because it was, in its own ugly, gorgeous form.
