The Warrior’s Kiss

Two monsters. Two warriors. Two battle crazies.Whirling through battle like it was courtship.

If anyone else witnessed, they’d describe it as foreplay—because in its own grotesque, gorgeous fashion, it was.

Nova struck first this ti—lightning quick. A whizz of black hair and sheer intent.

Her fist ca in low. Leon ducked back, allowing it to graze an inch from his jaw.

The second hit ca from overhead—a hamring elbow.

He caught it in mid-air with a hand. Their eyes t, both of them grinning like devils.

She spun in mid-air, using his hold as a lever to spin round behind him.

He dodged under the sweep of her kick, the air between them crackling with tension.

Whoosh! Crack! Thud!

Each one accompanied by a spark—like fireworks exploded in a forge.

Leon punched with a hand on her back—tender but firm, hard enough to send her backward.

Nova laughed as she dropped onto one foot, quickly striking back with a flying knee.

He deflected it—barely—his palm against her thigh.

"Your flexibility’s crazy," he grumbled, grinning.

"Flattered?" she wheezed.

"Distracted," he shot back.

She took advantage of the instant to spin and headbutt him—once more.

Crack!

Leon stumbled, his eyes watering. "You seriously—ugh—need to refrain from that."

She winked, even as her knuckles flew toward his stomach. "Then refrain from pinning ."

with practiced ease.

Nova stumbled—just a step—but it was sufficient.

In a single smooth motion, he swept his leg behind hers. Their balance fell together.

Not a slam—more a gravity-bound tug.

They fell to the ground in a mangled fall, her back striking the floor with a gentle thud, softened by the mutual montum rather than impact.

Leon fell on top of her, his hands on the floor to prevent himself from collapsing on her, breath warm against her cheek.

For the third ti... They had been in that sa place.

Leon’s weight lood over her, one hand pressed against the ground beside her head, the other shaking subtly from the ferocity of their last encounter. Nova was pinned under him, arms and legs entwined with his, slick sweat-skinned bodies rubbing against curved muscle. Their chests moved in abrasive syncopation, breathing shallow, hot, in tandem.

Their gazes t once more. Unblinking. Unwavering. Unspoken.

It was a beat now. A rhythm neither of them was willing to disrupt.

Nova’s untad black hair fanned out around her like a halo of mayhem, strands stuck to her flush cheeks. Her green eyes sparkled—not with acquiescence, but with sothing more. Her smirk remained half-ford, almost defiant. But her lips parted slightly. Her chest ca up fast. Her heart pounded against him. And she did not move.

Leon did not either.

His golden eyes examined her—not like a predator looking down its prey, but like a man who had battled a storm and discovered beauty in its center. He could see it: the devilry, the fla, the challenge in her eyes... and sothing gentler hidden under it.

Nova’s eyes darted to his lips. Just for a mont. Then to his eyes.

The silence hung between them, heavy with heat, tension, and sothing less than desire—sothing weightier.

"Again?" Nova breathed, her voice a whisper, teasing, as if she tested the air around them. "What are the chances, Lord Leon—or is it that you enjoy holding down?"

Leon laughed low, still suspended, his voice deeper now. "Beginning to feel like destiny."

"Or just your excuse to be on top of ," she said, voice low, teasing.

Leon grinned, golden eyes unwavering. "I wouldn’t need an excuse... to be on top of you." He leaned a little closer, his breath warm against her skin. "But I’ll take the third chance if it ans staying right here."

Nova cocked her head, a wry smile teasing at her mouth. "You’re wiser than I thought, Lord Leon."

He laughed softly, voice low. "Perhaps. Or perhaps I simply know what I desire."

"And now?" she asked, voice soft, almost a whisper.

His eyes remained steady. "You."

Her heart faltered—a soft, even thump.

She was a Duchess. A warrior A battle maniac who’d fought monsters and n without flinching... but even so, she was still a woman—and Leon’s soft words—those damn confident eyes—sent ripples through a heart she’d kept frozen for years.

Still, she masked her emotion with a smirk. "You’re really full of yourself, aren’t you?"

But she didn’t move away.

Her sweat-slick, blood-stained fingers curled softly into the edge of his tunic. Her mouth opened a fraction, her breath caressing his cheek. Her heart drumd like drums—seemingly loud and frantic. Her breathing ca in jerky gasps beneath him, the motion now no longer purely battle-induced, but shaken... stirred.

Leon witnessed it all, sensed it as well—the flush mounting to her ears, the furious beat of her heart.

"Even Nova—the girl who once headbutted him mid-fight with a smile on her face when he pinned her down—seed... shaken. Surprised. Stunning."

She attempted to talk. Nothing erged. Her body betrayed her composure. Her breath caught.

Leon’s hand traveled—gently—from the ground to her face. He pushed a damp strand of hair plastered against her temple, fingertips tracing her skin. Her lashes flashed once.

"Beautiful..." he said to himself. "Battle-crazed. Wild. But now... so damn cute."

Her green eyes grew wide by a fraction—and then cald. Then... she didn’t look away.

Then—he leaned in. Slowly. Intentionally. Until their noses almost touched.

She could’ve been stopped her—grabbed his wrist, rolled him off, or made a snide comnt.

But she didn’t.

She remained. Allowed herself to feel him. To want him. To let the stillness communicate between them.

Leon hovered—lips inches from her—hesitant, but prepared.

Her lashes fluttered, her breath caught.

Then Leon closed the space.

Their lips connected.

Soft. Slow.

A breathless silence ensued—not rough, not desperate. Just warm. Intimacy. Heat.

Nova’s eyes went wide for a second, then relaxed.

She started to reciprocate, kissing him back— Not because she’d lost, but because, for once... she didn’t want to win.

Their third crash didn’t result in fists—but in the fire of a kiss.
