He Zijian disagreed with Ji Ning’s opinion: "You’re overthinking. Professor Yang is a scholar; he doesn’t have such convoluted intentions. He doesn’t need to deal with any of this, and we don’t need to overthink it either. We just need to do our job well. Professor Yang is leading us on a project; it’s an excellent learning opportunity."
"I don’t see it that way. Who knows how long this project will last? If it’s a year or six months, fine. But if it lasts several years, won’t we just be wasting our ti? Others will be producing results and papers, while we’ll just be loafing around." Ji Ning still disagreed.
Among the other three people, one agreed with Ji Ning’s opinion, while the other two doctors weren’t interested in thinking about these things. Anyway, they were all doing research in the laboratory; it didn’t matter which project it was, as long as they could quietly do their research.
"Hey, you there?" Soone jumped into the conversation.
Ji Ning imdiately stopped talking and asked, "Are you calling ?"
"Yes, I’m calling you. There are too many newcors this batch; I can’t rember your na at the mont. I’m really sorry," the senior doctor imdiately apologized.
"My na is Ji Ning. I’m new here." Ji Ning introduced himself to the "senior."
The "senior" imdiately slid his chair over: "I’m Jiang Jitong. I heard your conversation just now."
"What do you want?" Ji Ning instinctively dodged.
Jiang Jitong smiled and said, "Don’t worry. No one here is a snitch. Even if a professor were here, chatting like this wouldn’t be a problem. If you have any opinions, you can say them face-to-face. It’s fine. I heard you just said you didn’t want to join Professor Yang’s newly set up project group?"
"I didn’t say that. We were just chatting casually." Ji Ning denied it.
Jiang Jitong smirked, "Don’t beat around the bush. I told you, there’s no one here who snitches. What are you afraid of? If you don’t want to join this project group, we can swap."
"Swap?" Ji Ning asked skeptically, unsure of his intention.
Jiang Jitong nodded: "Yes, we can swap. I just heard your analysis. It’s quite reasonable. This project group is small, and is probably just for show. There’s likely nothing much to do, so it’s quite idle. I’ve been busy to the point I can’t take it anymore and want to take it easy for a while. How about we swap?"
Is there really soone who’d swap? As a newcor, Ji Ning is not afraid of being busy, only of being pushed to the sidelines and ignored.
"Really, you newcors should co to our larger group to gain so experience. If you agree, you can directly tell Doctor Tang about it. Just say you’re willing to swap with ," Jiang Jitong looked exhausted.
"Okay then, do you an it?" Ji Ning didn’t expect this person to actually want to join a "retirent" project group.
A project group with only a few people, hastily ford as a formality, what could there be to do? It’s simply a retirent group.
"Everyone here is a witness. I quite like immunology, and I heard you’re studying adjuvants, which is right up my alley. Let’s settle it this way. Later, you can propose it to Doctor Tang. As long as you stand firm, Doctor Tang can’t do anything about it. Then I’ll actively suggest swapping with you. It will work out well for everyone," Jiang Jitong encouraged Ji Ning.
"What about you guys? Does anyone else want to swap? If you don’t say now, it’ll be too late later."
Ji Ning asked everyone.
Everyone shook their heads, with little enthusiasm.
"Even if they want to swap, soone has to be willing, right? You’re really lucky; after all, there are only a few of us who think about retirent early. Even if they want to swap, no one would swap with them, right?" Jiang Jitong said.
"Rember, keep this under wraps. If it gets out, it won’t be good for . After all, Doctor Tang assigned the project group mbers on Professor Yang’s behalf. Trading places like this secretly among ourselves, what does that count as? If it leaks and causes a bad impact, we won’t be able to swap,"
Jiang Jitong cautioned Ji Ning in a mysterious tone. Ji Ning, quite clever, imdiately nodded.
