The final roster was set, and compared to the initial list, Ji Ning was replaced by Jiang Jitong, with no other changes.
Jiang Jitong is experienced, with comprehensive knowledge, and was a key figure in the original project. Previously, Yang Ping would not have decisively transferred soone like him to a new project team.
However, according to Tang Shun, Ji Ning was concerned about his weak knowledge of immunology, so he changed his mind at the last minute. As a result, Tang Shun felt that only Jiang Jitong could be spared, and Jiang himself had a strong interest in immunology-related topics. This arrangent was very reasonable and the best under present conditions.
Given this situation, Yang Ping had no objections. Having a seasoned Doctor in the team would ease his workload considerably.
The first eting of the new project team was scheduled in the small eting room of the laboratory.
When Yang Ping arrived, he found that all five mbers were present and had seemingly arranged themselves according to so unseen order.
Jiang Jitong sat closest to the head position, with a thick leather notebook and a ballpoint pen spread out in front of him. His deanor was calm with a sharp gaze tinged with a fitting degree of respect.
The other four newcors sat slightly further away, appearing sowhat restrained, their backs straight. In front of them were standard-issue lab notebooks, their brand-new covers reflecting the light.
Upon seeing Yang Ping enter, the five stood up in unison, as if it had been pre-rehearsed, suggesting they were well-prepared.
"Sit," Yang Ping said gently, and then took his seat.
Except for Jiang Jitong, the other four were indeed newcors. Yang Ping had seen them only a few tis and was not yet familiar with their faces.
Chu Xiaoxiao, a female Doctor, had a neat ponytail, and her eyes were clear and focused, with a hint of tenacity.
Wang Chao, wearing black-frad glasses, appeared sowhat thin but spirited.
Mao Mingcheng, with a temperant more serene, had slightly pursed lips that showed seriousness and determination.
Liu Yang, the tallest at 1.89 ters, was the tallest among the group, exuding a sunny and lively aura.
Their ntal states were all good; it seed they were here voluntarily for the new project, not out of forced obligation, which Yang Ping disliked. If one doesn’t like the work, it’s hard to do it well; even if one could, it would be with great difficulty.
"Everyone is here, let’s start by getting to know each other," Yang Ping said calmly. "I’m Yang Ping, and I’ll be the lead on this project. We’ll be working together in the coming period. Let’s go around and introduce ourselves—your na, alma mater, previous major research background, and specialty areas. No need to be too formal, just a brief introduction will do."
Everyone couldn’t help but chuckle internally; Professor Yang really has a sense of humor—does he really need to introduce himself?
Jiang Jitong cleared his throat, his voice loud and clear: "Jiang Jitong, graduated from Nandu dical University. My primary research focus was stem cell therapy. I was fortunate to be involved in part of our institute’s early key projects and have mastered a variety of advanced scientific thods. Personally, I have always had a deep interest and eagerness to learn in the field of immunology, especially immunological engineering. I have accumulated so knowledge in this area over ti and am very honored to join this brand-new project team. I believe that under Professor Yang’s leadership, we will certainly make breakthroughs."
His introduction was steady and comprehensive, highlighting his rich experience and interdisciplinary capabilities, while cleverly turning his background in stem cells into an advantage, emphasizing his strong interest in immunology. After all, interest is the best motivation.
Jiang Jitong was indeed quite smart; even before eting with Professor Yang, he had already found his rightful place in the newly ford project team. He would lead the four junior colleagues in conducting experints, becoming Professor Yang’s capable assistant. It was Jiang’s arrangent that everyone had their notebooks in hand.
Next were the newcors’ self-introductions, appearing sowhat tense.
Chu Xiaoxiao, the only female among the five, spoke a bit quickly, appearing efficient: "Chu Xiaoxiao, graduated from Imperial University dical College. During my Doctorate, my primary research was on the chanism of T-cell exhaustion in the tumor microenvironnt, focusing on the exploration of new potential targets for checkpoint inhibitor combination therapy. I am proficient in flow cytotry, ELISPOT, in vitro T-cell activation and cytotoxicity models."
Her introduction was closely aligned with the core of immunology, with a clear list of techniques and defined targets, demonstrating her suitability for the research needs of this project.
Wang Chao pushed up his glasses and spoke: "Wang Chao, a Doctorate graduate from West China dical University, focusing on the replication chanisms of influenza viruses, coronaviruses, and host innate immune response evasion. Skilled in virus packaging, constructing pseudovirus systems, RT-PCR, Western Blot, and relevant bioinformatics analysis."
His background leaned towards pathogens, directly related to vaccine developnt, making him the team’s representative in virology.
Although Yang Ping hadn’t set specific requirents, Tang Shun considered various professional matchings while selecting personnel, allowing them to complent each other.
Mao Mingcheng’s voice was softer but the content substantial: "Mao Mingcheng, Doctoral graduate from Fudan University dical School, focusing primarily on the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, regarding processes like autoantibody production, immune complex deposition, and complent system abnormal activation. Familiar with autoimmune mouse models, immunofluorescence, tissue section staining, and various cytokine detections."
