The banquet after the ceremony was even more lavish and lively. Tang Shun and Song Zimo were surrounded by waves of celebrity scholars, with congratulations, questions, and collaboration proposals following one after another.

"Did your Professor Yang really not co to receive the award just because of a case?" an academician from the Royal Society of the United Kingdom asked incredulously.

"To him, the treatnt window for that nine-year-old boy is more important than any ceremony," Song Zimo answered.

The academician was silent for a mont, then raised his glass: "This may be the most scarce scientific spirit of our ti. A toast!"

Halfway through the banquet, a well-dressed middle-aged man quietly approached. He introduced himself as the Vice President of Research and Developnt for a leading European pharmaceutical company and offered his business card.

"We are developing the next generation of biological agents for autoimmune diseases," the man said in a low voice, "the system regulation theory has given us new ideas. We are willing to invest considerable resources to collaborate deeply with Professor Yang’s team. Of course, regarding intellectual property and comrcialization, very favorable terms can be negotiated."

Tang Shun maintained a polite smile: "Thank you for your kindness. Please submit any collaboration proposals formally to the academic committee of the institute through the normal process."

The man wanted to say more, but Tang Shun and Song Zimo had already been called away by Professor Carlson.

"Handled it well," Professor Carlson said softly, "rember, from now on, countless hands will reach out to you and your research. So bring true cooperation, so just want to bask in your glory or share the profits. Learning to discern is a skill you must acquire after winning the award."

"Professor Yang has reminded us," Song Zimo said.

"I know," Professor Carlson smiled, "that’s exactly what makes him so admirable. He’s not only made revolutionary scientific contributions, but he has also cultivated a team capable of upholding this pure scientific spirit."

Nandu Provincial City, one o’clock in the morning.

Yang Ping finished reading Jiang Jitong’s report, made notes on several key data points, and replied to the email suggesting the next steps for experints. He stood up and stretched his stiff shoulders and neck before walking to the window.

The city was still brightly lit in the night. His phone vibrated again, this ti with a photo from Manstein, showing the lavish banquet hall in Stockholm, with Tang Shun and Song Zimo engaged in conversation with a group of scholars.

"Professor, they perford exceptionally well," Manstein noted, "the whole world has seen it—not just your individual brilliance, but the strength of an outstanding team. Professor Carlson privately told that this is the most unique group of award representatives she has ever seen because they truly understand and represent the core spirit of the awarded work. Professor Carlson also ntioned that Chinese sounds really pleasant."

Yang Ping replied: "Thank you, Professor Manstein, they truly deserve to be in the spotlight."

"Professor, you always forget my correct title. Please just call Manstein!" Manstein often encountered this issue.

"Oh, Manstein!" Yang Ping corrected.

"Yes, Professor!" Manstein replied happily.

After hanging up, Yang Ping prepared to pack up and head ho. Just as he did, there was a knock on his office door.

"Co in."

Dr. Lu Xiaolu walked in, holding a freshly printed report, with a sowhat peculiar expression on his face.

"Professor, take a look at this."

Yang Ping took the report, and the title made him frown slightly: "Preliminary Report on Rare Immune Abnormalities Following System Regulation Intervention."

"This is...?"

"It’s from a collaboration center in Europe," Lu Xiaolu said solemnly, "they applied our regulation theory to treat a group of intractable Crohn’s disease patients. Most patients showed significant improvent, but three cases experienced unexpected severe side effects."

The report detailed these three cases: 4-6 weeks after receiving personalized regulation plans, the patients’ originally overactive intestinal immune response was indeed controlled, but other systems began to exhibit abnormalities—one developed a severe skin allergic reaction, another showed neurological symptoms like headaches and dizziness, and a third exhibited rare blood marker abnormalities.

"They suspect that while correcting local imbalances, the regulation intervention may have disrupted the hoostasis of other parts of the system, triggering a chain reaction," Lu Xiaolu said, "the report just ca in this afternoon. I was planning to discuss it tomorrow..."

Yang Ping was already quickly flipping through the report, focused: "No, you did the right thing. Notify everyone imdiately. Ergency eting at seven tomorrow morning. Oh, it’s too late; notify everyone in the morning."

"Yes!"

After Lu Xiaolu left, Yang Ping also needed to go ho. Along the way, he kept thinking about the possible chanisms behind the problem: immune redistribution? Local immune suppression causing immunocytes or factors to migrate and accumulate in other systems? tabolic chain reactions? Changes in the intestinal microbiota-tabolite axis affecting systemic tabolic hoostasis? Unexpected coupling of the neuro-immune-endocrine network? Individual-specific thresholds causing our regulation dosage to still be excessive for so systems?"

The night in Stockholm was still long.

After the banquet, at the private cocktail party, Tang Shun finally found the opportunity to slip out onto the balcony with Song Zimo to catch their breath. The winter night in Stockholm was cold and clear, with exceptionally bright stars.

"Here," Tang Shun said, pulling the Nobel Prize dal from his suit pocket. The gold dal glead with a warm luster in the moonlight, with a bas-relief profile of Nobel on the front and, on the reverse, a design that varied by category. The physiology or dicine prize bore the image of the goddess of dicine with an open book on her lap, collecting spring water flowing from rocks to quench the thirst of a sick girl.
