Song Zimo also took out his own dal, and the two of them toyed with them in their hands.

"It’s really heavy!" Song Zimo weighed the dal in his palm.

"Really beautiful!" Tang Shun admired the dal up close.

Song Zimo gazed into the distance, "Tonight at the banquet, I heard at least three tis that people question the system regulation theory, saying it’s too idealistic, the clinical application risks are uncontrollable, and existing foundation studies must be broad and deep. You also heard what the pharmaceutical company vice president said; they say they want cooperation, but in reality, they want to buy out or dominate the research direction."

"The bigger the tree, the more it attracts the wind." Tang Shun sighed, "Before the professor won the award, the questioning voices were mainly within academic circles. Now that he’s won, skepticism will co from all directions, and it’ll mix with interests, competition, and even malice."

"That’s why the professor didn’t want to co." Song Zimo suddenly understood, "He doesn’t want to be swept into these whirlwinds; he wants to stay in the laboratory and continue doing truly important work, without wasting ti."

"When we get back, we need to build a firewall for the professor," Tang Shun said, "We’ll handle all comrcial collaborations, dia entanglents, and unnecessary social events. Let him continue to work quietly."

"Agree." Song Zimo nodded.

The two of them were silent for a mont, then put away the dals.

"How about we hang the dals around our necks, take a photo, and post it on our mont?"

"Yes, just one photo, no words, leave so blank space!"

Nandu Provincial City, seven o’clock in the morning.

The eting room at the institute was filled with people, and the atmosphere was serious. The screen displayed the report on unexpected reactions sent from Europe.

"...The commonality of these three cases is that they all belong to our classification of ’high-reactive immune phenotype.’" Lu Xiaolu pointed at the data charts, "That is to say, their immune systems are inherently in a state of extre sensitivity, prone to overreacting. Our regulation sche successfully suppressed the local overreaction in the intestinal tract but may have caused so kind of pressure shift at the systemic level."

"Like pressing down on a spring, it pops up elsewhere?" Jiang Jitong added.

Yang Ping listened quietly, waiting until everyone had finished speaking before he began:

"First, thank you to the European cooperation center for their honest and tily sharing. Scientific progress requires open discussions about anomalies and failures, not cover-ups."

He walked to the whiteboard and started drawing: "This reminds us that the core of the system regulation theory is ’balance,’ but our understanding of ’balance’ is still too superficial. Sotis what we think of as balance may be local stability, but we ignore the dynamic coupling between systems."

He drew several interconnecting circles representing different physiological systems: "Intestinal immune system, skin, nervous system, blood system... they are not isolated. When we intensely regulate one of them, we must consider the possible effects of redistribution of energy, substances, and information on other systems."

"What do we do then?" a young researcher asked, "Truly capturing the overall balance is very difficult and depends on comprehensive research into the disease chanism."

Yang Ping nodded, "Therefore, we need to research more deeply and ticulously. The value of this report is that it points out the current boundaries and blind spots in our theory. We need more precise system modeling, comprehensive baseline evaluation, more gradual regulation strategies, and more intelligent feedback adjustnts. We must not only organize worldwide existing chanism research on the disease but also conduct deeper research based on the organization."

This requires more data, more complex algorithms, and longer-term follow-ups." Yang Ping looked at the team, "It ans more arduous work. But this is science; every answer leads to more questions, every breakthrough exposes new unknowns. The knowledge we know is a circle, and the unknown knowledge is outside the circle. As this circle grows, its boundary with the unknown lengthens."

In the eting room, the confusion in the young researchers’ eyes gradually transford into determination.

Chu Xiaoxiao raised a hand, "Our next step is to reanalyze all the existing case data, looking for biological markers of ’high reactivity’? Simultaneously, design new animal experints, simulating such system disturbances?"

"Yes." Yang Ping nodded, "And we need to act quickly; these three cases from Europe are a wake-up call. As our theory moves towards broader application, we must anticipate and minimize such risks. That’s the only way to keep progressing."

The eting continued until nine o’clock in the morning. After adjournnt, Yang Ping remained in the eting room alone to think.

The phone vibrated, Tang Shun sent a ssage, attached with a photo of them at the Stockholm airport: "Getting ready to board the plane ho, everything went smoothly, but it’s been quite profound. We’ll discuss when we et in person."

Yang Ping replied briefly, "Safe travels, rest right when you return, we’ll talk tomorrow."

He put down the phone and continued facing the challenges on the whiteboard. To him, this is the real frontline, not under the spotlight in Stockholm, but in the laboratory and ward.

The plane passed through the clouds and flew eastward.

Tang Shun and Song Zimo sat side by side, the two Nobel Prize dals carefully stored in the compartnt of their carry-on bags.

"I keep thinking," Song Zimo looked at the churning sea of clouds outside the window, "what the professor is doing right now."

Tang Shun closed his eyes to rest, "Perhaps solving that new issue sent from Europe, winning the award is not the end for him, just another starting point."

"How many dia will block the door when we get back? How many collaboration invitations? How many skeptic voices?"

"A lot, but no need to think too much about it." Tang Shun opened his eyes, "The professor said, as long as our work is solid enough and our data robust enough, ti will prove everything. What we can do is block unnecessary interference and let the team continue to focus."

"Yes, exactly!"

"Did you post the photo we took together on your mont?"

"I did! How about you?"

"I did too!"
