Chapter 509: Chapter 465: See You in Japan! Chapter 509: Chapter 465: See You in Japan! Yang Ping left Guilin, and following their operational process, the doctors in the lab began to adjust the nuts and bolts at scheduled tis, gradually forming complex tensile stresses.

Every day, the laboratory’s daily report would be delivered to Yang Ping’s computer in the form of text, images, and videos. He would personally check every detail to prevent errors from inadvertently happening.

The experint had to be ticulous. Any tiny mistake could lead to failure.

Every day after the surgery, Zhang Lin would change the dressings for the gout patient, observing the condition of the surgical incision.

Whether it was the incision at the amputation site or the incision from the gout nodule surgery, there was no seepage or swelling, and it was clean. This was a sign of good luck and a successful surgery.

Sotis, we must acknowledge the existence of luck in this world. It’s like an invisible hand, either advancing or hindering things for us behind the scenes.

“Doctor, how is it?”

Both the patient and his daughter were deeply worried. The success of the surgery would directly impact their family’s future life.

After changing the dressings, Zhang Lin took off his gloves and cald the place by saying, “The healing of the amputation site is excellent, the other incisions are also problem-free. Theoretically, he’s already out of the danger period.”

Days five through seven after the surgery were the most dangerous period for complications with the surgical incision. Now, on the eighth day post-surgery, the incision was healing well, significantly reducing the likelihood of future complications.

Both the patient and his daughter breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the surgery was a success, rejoicing from within.

“The prosthesis engineer will co to take asurents. A doctor will accompany him, so please cooperate. There are many types of prosthetics at various prices. When the ti cos, communicate with him on your choice. Once the prosthesis is fitted, you can start training to walk on it. If training goes well, you can even run with the prosthesis.” Zhang Lin instructed an intern to clean up the trash left from changing the dressings.

“Really? Can he go grocery shopping with the prosthesis?”

“Of course.”

The patient stared at his leg, saying to himself excitedly, “I’m finally liberated this ti.”

He had been waiting for this mont for many years.

“Pengpeng is coming to see you with his mom tonight.” His daughter was also very happy.

“I am not scary-looking now, am I? Let him co, let him co.”

The patient’s face glowed with health, his spirit rejuvenated, appearing as if he had beco a different person. He was finally able to rejoin his family and society.

Zhang Lin sent several videos about prosthetics to the patient so that he could learn ahead. Currently, lower limb prosthetics are very advanced, with many paralympians wearing them to run and play sports.

On the other hand, upper limb prosthetics still leave much to be desired. Even with the application of brain-computer interface technology, upper limb prosthetics still fall far short of satisfaction.

Zhang Lin reported the gout patient’s condition to Yang Ping. Hearing the updates, Yang Ping let out a sigh of relief, glad to have resolved the patient’s problem.

“Dr. Yang, soone’s looking for you!” Song Zimo announced at the door.

Yang Ping’s office door was open; he was currently reviewing the daily report from the Guilin lab.

The visitor was Ning Qi, who stood outside the office with a delicate gift box in hand, a slight blush on her face as she smiled shyly.

Yang Ping had agreed to this eting with her. When Ning Qi sent a WeChat ssage saying that she urgently needed to see him about a patient’s MRI images, Yang Ping had ti and asked her to co right away.

“Dr. Yang, may I co in?” Ning Qi knocked lightly on the door.

“Please co in.” Yang Ping looked up from his computer.

“I’ll leave you two to talk.” Song Zimo greeted them and left.

Ning Qi entered and carefully placed the gift box on Yang Ping’s desk before elegantly sitting down. The box contained cookies that she had made herself.

“You’re too kind.” Yang Ping accepted the gift, the sll of the cookies tickling his senses.

“It’s just a small treat. My baking skills aren’t the best, so I hope you don’t find it offensive. I apologize for taking up your ti.” Ning Qi always wore a smile.

“Miss Ning, you don’t have to be so polite.” Yang Ping thought she seed a bit too restrained.

“You can just call Ning Qi.” The CEO of a ga corporation was unexpectedly soft-spoken and gentle at this mont.

“I’m here to trouble you again.” Ning Qi took a USB drive out of her bag.

Upon receiving the USB, Yang Ping inserted it into his computer, checked it for viruses, and then opened the file. Clear MR images appeared on the electronic viewing screen. After a while, Yang Ping said, “This is a brainstem glioma located between the pons and dulla oblongata. It spans from the upper cervical spine to the cranium, and crosses the base of the skull. It’s an extrely dangerous tumor.”

“Fortunately, the tumor hasn’t spread and is still confined to the original site.” Yang Ping scrutinized the full-body PET-CT scans and other examination treatnts in detail.

“Whether surgery is perford or not, does the patient have no chance of survival?” Ning Qi was anxious, yet her exterior remained composed.

“That’s too absolute a statent. Can you describe the progression of the disease?” Yang Ping poured Ning Qi a glass of water.

“He developed dizziness and headaches while attending a music event in Tokyo, Japan. He sought treatnt at the attached hospital of Tokyo University, and after the examination, this was the conclusion. This falls under neurosurgery, which isn’t your specialty. I hesitated to bother you, but I believe that no matter what, you can provide with the best advice, so—”

Ning Qi’s trust in Yang Ping stemd from when her father was struggling in pain. Yang Ping had done his utmost, using his skilled dical techniques to allow her father to retain his dignity in his final monts, passing away painlessly.

“Doctors from Europe and the United States did an online consultation, and unanimously agreed that surgery is not viable.”

Surgery being nonviable ans waiting for death, Ning Qi understands the inevitable end.

“The risk of the surgery is trendously high and could be fatal at any point during the procedure. But for such case, total fatality is certain without surgery. There is a slight chance of survival with proactive operation. I recomnd we proceed with the surgery.” Yang Ping was very adamant.

“But, they all said the chance of success is zero. Sotis I think, if only you were a neurosurgeon Doctor Yang, perhaps you could save him.” Ning Qi held back her pain.

“This kind of surgery is currently regarded as taboo in surgery because the area of operation involves a multitude of nerve nuclei. These nerve nuclei are what we refer to as the command center of life. Any slight misstep could lead to cessation of heartbeat and breathing. Even with trendous effort from the doctors, the success rate for such operations remains exceptionally low at the present. This patient is the most dangerous amongst similar cases. This is the third case I have encountered, and luckily, the previous two surgeries were successful.”

“You’re saying you can also perform this surgery? You’ve succeeded twice?” Ning Qi’s eyes imdiately lit up with hope.

After a brief consideration, Yang Ping said: “In this world, I’m afraid I’m the only one who can perform this surgery for him.”

Yang Ping didn’t want her to continue seeking random dical help in her panic. If they ended up at the wrong operating table, it could delay treatnt and cost a life.

“Thank you–” Ning Qi was so pleased she didn’t know what to say next.

“Is the person currently in Japan?” Yang Ping asked.

“At the Neurology Ward of the affiliated hospital of Tokyo University, Japan. Currently receiving combined treatnt from the Spinal Surgery and Neurosurgery departnts. Apart from examination, no other treatnts have been given at the mont. The doctors said he can’t be transferred yet and needs to undergo palliative dehydration treatnt.”

“This is my brother–”

Ning Qi added that her brother is the only imdiate family she has now.

In her early thirties, Ning Qi was steering the great Anning Empire. She originally just wanted to be a primary school teacher, but her destiny had dictated otherwise. It was impossible for her to live life her way. She had to ascend to a high position at a young age, had to be ruthless and tactful.

She just wanted to live an ordinary life like others – getting married, having children, and living an ordinary day-to-day life, but she couldn’t.

The trials of the business world had made her seemingly more composed and steady than the average person when faced with these changes.

“Let perform the surgery for him, it’s the only hope. I’m heading to Japan soon, if it’s convenient, I’ll go and see him.”

Modesty is a virtue, but there are tis when it can be a flaw.

“Thank you!”

How wonderful it feels to find hope in desperation. Although the surgery carries great risks, Ning Qi felt much relieved seeing Yang Ping’s confident gaze.

She brushed back her soft hair, beneath the hair at her temples a thin line of sweat was visible.

“Shall I go to Japan first, to wait for you?”

“Yes, I’m on the flight next Friday, I’ll be in Japan on Saturday and Sunday. We can et in Tokyo. According to the current condition, don’t move him yet, continue with the dehydration treatnt, he is not in imdiate life danger.”

“Understood! Thank you!”

Ning Qi extended her slender, fair hand, and Yang Ping shook it with a smile.

“The surgery cos with extre risks, to save him, taking the risk is essential.” Yang Ping reminded her again.

“I know! Regardless of the outco, I trust you.”

Whether it was because of the man’s aura or the trust she had for him in the past, Ning Qi had absolute faith in Yang Ping.

“My mother left a long ti ago, you know, and my father did too. Now I only have my brother left. He used to wander outside and I never got to take care of him. I feel guilty about it. Now that he’s finally back, I never expected this to happen.”

Ning Qi’s eyes were shimring with tears. She never had anyone to talk to and kept all her thoughts to herself. Now all her feelings just poured out.

“Man proposes, God disposes. As long as we do our best, there will be no regrets.” Yang Ping comforted her.

“Yes! How are the cookies?” Ning Qi quickly recovered her composure.

“Very Good.” Yang Ping praised, having tasted them before, he did think they were quite good.

“Thank you, I thought you wouldn’t eat them.” Ning Qi laughed.

“Thank you for being the first to donate to the foundation. That sum of money is very useful for our scientific research.” Yang Ping knew that Ning Qi was the first one to donate when the foundation was established. She did it quietly without any publicity and didn’t even inform Yang Ping.

“I’m just the keeper of wealth. Giving money to those who need it most is what makes it aningful.”

“If every entrepreneur were as responsible as you.”

“Wouldn’t it be better if every doctor were like you?”

“I won’t take any more of your ti, see you in Japan!”

“See you in Japan!”
