Chapter 650: Chapter 587 Chapter 650: Chapter 587 Ou Lichun and Yang Ping were university classmates, both for their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Upon graduation, Ou Lichun went to a tertiary-level hospital in a lesser-known city. As a master’s degree holder, this was already a decent outco in the overly competitive dical field.

Back then, Ou Lichun dreamt of furthering his skills in spinal surgery at the Nandu Affiliated Hospital One, but due to its national ranking and scarce fellowship positions, there was no chance for him.

Thanks to Yang Ping’s help, Ou Lichun’s dream ca true, and he was accepted to train at Nandu Affiliated Hospital One.

He cherished this opportunity greatly, arriving at the departnt before seven in the morning and only leaving after ten at night, working earnestly.

Ou Lichun was a year older than Yang Ping. Both of them pursued postgraduate studies after their undergraduate degrees. During their postgraduate years, they both obtained their dical practice licenses with their undergraduate qualifications. Thus, two years after postgraduation, both of them were promoted to attending physicians.

Ou Lichun beca an attending physician at the age of 28. His promotion was smooth and without delay, paving a promising future ahead.

Right after his promotion to attending physician, he was offered a coveted assignnt to pursue further training. It seed his career was on a roll.

Yet, his colleague Yang Ping had now beco an associate professor, an associate chief physician.

The speed of promotion was nothing short of rocket-like. None of their fellow students, neither from undergraduate nor postgraduate, had achieved such fast advancent.

If he didn’t know that this Professor Yang was Yang Ping, Ou Lichun wouldn’t have believed such a young professor even existed.

Compared to him, Ou Lichun was still being scolded over a single case report.

Comparisons are indeed odious.

But Ou Lichun thought it was fortunate to have such a classmate. After all, he had made it possible to train at the Nandu Affiliated Hospital One.

Ou Lichun held his peace, not bragging about Yang Ping being his classmate.

“This Professor Yang is quite remarkable; apparently, he managed to develop this spinal fixation fra in just a few months.”

“He won the Golden Knife Award last year.”

“I heard he was exceptionally promoted to beco an associate chief physician and associate professor.”

“Really? Could his family background have been manufactured by power and influence? Who knows when his facade might crumble?”

“I’m fairly sure, the technology in the spinal fixation fra is extrely sophisticated and could win the national invention award.”

“Do you know Professor Yang well?”

“Not really, we just had dinner together.”

As everybody chatted while working, they all seed quite familiar with Yang Ping. In particular, one Doctoral candidate, Dr. Zeng, appeared to have a close relationship with Yang Ping.

Dr. Zeng was in his doctorate, studying under Professor Fan’s dical team, just like Ou Lichun.

These doctoral candidates also held the position of resident physicians in the dical team. While Dr. Zeng and Ou Lichun were peers, Dr. Zeng often bossed Ou Lichun around because he was a doctoral candidate.

Ou Lichun remained silent during the conversation, typing away on the case report, which had to be edited completely by today to satisfy Professor Fan tomorrow.

Whenever Professor Fan was present, Dr. Zeng pretended to be busy revising case reports. But as soon as the professor left, he instantly pushed all the work onto Ou Lichun, chit-chatting leisurely to the side.

Ou Lichun was already swamped, and now also had to edit case reports for Dr. Zeng. This ti, Ou Lichun decided to ignore him, saying, “We each write our own.”

Picking up guts, are you disobeying now?

Ou Lichun ignored him and kept typing.

Dr. Zeng was furious. He nodded his head, thinking to himself, “we’ll see.”

One by one, the professors and associate professors of the spinal surgery departnt all returned to the dical office.

Suddenly, the doctors at the doorway stood up. Before Ou Lichun could figure out what was going on, soone pulled him up: Dean Su had arrived.

All the doctors in the office stood up unanimously.

Academician, national orthopedics chair, Dean of Nandu Affiliated Hospital One, primary professor, chief physician Professor Su entered the doctor’s office, accompanied by Professor Zhou.

Professor Su appeared very elegant. His fit and uniform body was encapsulated in a well-fitted white gown, and he wore a constant smile, looking confident and successful.

Everyone both admired and feared him; Professor Su’s presence exerted an aura of authority without even raising his voice.

He kindly greeted everyone, “You’ve all worked hard, sit down, please sit down!”

Professor Zhou guided Professor Su to his seat; only then did everyone dare sit down.

At this mont, the doctors’ office was filled with dozens of professors, associate professors, doctoral and master’s students altogether.

Curtains drawn, projector switched on, after a few brief opening words from Professor Zhou, each dical team began to present their cases.

These cases were all clinical trials for the spinal fixation fra.

As interns, Robert, Takahashi, and August not only t the criteria, but they also excelled.

August arrived at the departnt promptly at six to review all the dical records of the patients with spinal curvature. Then, he studied their imaging pictures.

The technical manual was so battered from August’s use, its edges were smoothed, dog-eared.

Especially the core technique—the osteotomy; August asked Yang Ping nurous questions almost every day.

In the laboratory, which was also the training room, there were 3D models of the spine for each clinical trial case. August studied the osteotomy on these models, vertebra by vertebra. He noted down anything he was not clear about to ask Yang Ping in the afternoon.

August himself volunteered to manage patients, just like a resident physician who was responsible for the entire treatnt process of the patient.

Given his competent command of Chinese, Yang Ping agreed.

The Germans believed that only by personally experiencing every workflow detail from the bottom could one fully master the technique.
