Early the next morning, Wu Yue quickly packed her things and climbed onto the back of a Beastman Warrior. Protected by warriors from both the Snow Tiger and Black Wolf Tribes, she headed toward the Black Wolf Tribe’s territory.
When Yuan Lang returned to the tribe a short while later, he stared at his little female’s empty ho, his expression turning grim.
’Could soone please tell why my little female has vanished? I was only gone for one trip to gather herbs.’

As his low, magnetic voice faded, the beastman strode out of Wu Yue’s house and ran toward the witch’s cave.
Teng Qian and Teng Kun exchanged a look, then followed with wry smiles.
The witch was sorting through the herbs Yuan Lang’s group had collected, the ones needed for beastman evolution.
Hearing footsteps, the witch spoke without even lifting their head. "If you want to go, then go."

Yuan Lang spun around and ran for the tribe’s gate. As he followed, Teng Kun grumbled to his older brother, "Good thing I told Qingcao I might be gone for a few days. Just taking off like this is no way for a future mate to behave."
Teng Qian: "You’d better shut it, or I can’t be held responsible for what I do to you next."
anwhile, Wu Yue and her party had temporarily stopped in a clearing in the forest.
Along the way, she had been asking the Black Wolf Tribe mbers about the state of their injured, and the ever-diligent System eagerly recorded every detail the Beastman Warriors provided.

Seeing the tribe before her, buried by a collapsed mountainside, Wu Yue couldn’t help but gasp.
The layout of the Black Wolf Tribe was much like that of the Snow Tiger Tribe, but now the caves inhabited by the Beastn and Half-beastn were completely buried under fallen earth and rock.
In front of the caves, Wu Yue could even see mbers of the Black Wolf Tribe huddled beside their dead kin, weeping.
Her heart grew heavy at the sight.
But what made her heart sink even further was how the Black Wolf Tribe was handling the bodies.
The bodies of the dead were simply being laid out in an open area of the tribe.

She turned to the Black Wolf Tribe Beastman Warrior beside her. "Wolf Fang Captain, may I ask what your tribe’s customs are for the deceased?"
The light in Wolf Fang’s eyes dimd considerably. "Our witch must perform a ritual for the deceased. Afterward, we take their bodies to a place frequented by wild beasts.
Their bodies will be eaten by the beasts, and their bones will be swallowed by the Polar Forest, allowing them to return to the embrace of the Beast God."
